As per usual, the Marlins aren't touching any compensation picks as we aren't big fans of offering arb, but we do have 3 picks in the first 3 rounds and that's enough room for this FO to inject some serious talented to an already talented organization. The Marlins' pick as follows...

Round 1: 18

Round 2: 66

Round 3: 97

The Marlins have had a lot of success with HS pitchers, and this is a good draft for HS pitchers, especially in the top end. I'm thinking the Marlins probably take an elite HS arm in the first, and then start filling up with BPA. I'm thinking Tyler Skaggs or Chad James unless one of the other HS arms fall like Wheeler, Miller, or Turner. I'll start a poll to get discussion going. Feel free to suggest a number of people to be on the pool.. I'm just doing this real quickly and could have forgotten someone.

Hey John,

As the midseason has come upon us for most leagues, I would love to see a list of guys who you think have made the biggest jump this half of the year. There are definitely some guys out there who made some massive jumps on the prospect map, such as Trevor Cahill, Michael Bowden, Chris Davis, Logan Morrison, Mike Stanton, . Perhaps with some rough projections about what they will do the second half of the year.

1B prospect on the rise?

Logan Morrison, drafted in the 22nd round of the 2005 draft out of HS was a popular sleeper prospect on many lists to begin the year, including John Sickels.

Not much mention has been made of him, but he has been lighting it up as a 20 year old in a pitchers league; the FSL. Here's his line, almost half way through the season...
