For those of you who missed Arenas' comments on his blog (http://www.nba.com/blog/gilbert_arenas.html), here is a brief excerpt:

At the end of the day, we know who we want to face off against in the playoffs: Cleveland.

You want to play the exciting teams that have the same type of talent and the same type of up-and-downess (I don't even know if that's a word). You want a team that plays at the same pace as you. If you're an up-and-down team you don't want to play against a team like Chicago and grind it out. That's the worst. Using a Marbury phrase, "great kudos" to Chigago, but that's the one team you don't want to play in the first round. If you play them in the first round, most likely you aren't going to get further then the second round because they will beat you up so bad that you will be tired and it will take everything out of you just to beat them that series.

I remember them in 2004-05 when we had to play against them. It took all of our energy out to beat them and when we got to the second round against Miami we didn't have anything. That's the one team that you can say that you don't want to face in the playoffs and that's Chicago. They're a brutal team and they'll bang you, they'll press you full court, 24/7 for seven games.

This diary combines the 2 things Matt really hates: The Wages of Wins blog and superstar theories! However, the value of a community like this is in having diverse viewpoints. So here is a link to a very thought-provoking article from what I think is a brilliant (and over the top arrogant!) blog:

http://dberri.wordpress.com/

Blogabull on SNL!!

I am a little weary from draft talk, so to break the monotony, I scripted a little Blogabull skit that I would love to see on SNL some day:

Matt: Who will the bulls draft? It looks like it might be Yi, Hawes or Noah. Though to be honest I don't really give a shit. I hope the front office is focusing on their most important task: figuring out how to trade Du-Du and Noce.

sbulls: My analysis shows that making the right draft choice can impact our wins total by 3.24657 games. I confirmed this by triangulating from 3 different analyses: A regression analysis using PERs; plotting a key draft workout stat and integrating the area under the curve; and multiplying 2 random numbers.

PaxJax: Bah. Superficial analysis. You are a cretin. Sometimes I think almost everyone is a moron. Make that everyone. Except me. Damn, I'm good.

1958: This whole draft discussion is stupid. It's quite simple. Let's trade the whole roster for a superstar.

Sue: Will all of you stop arguing. I trust that Pax will make the right pick. Right now I would trust Pax with my life.

Flabull: I don't care who we draft as long as we beat Miami next year.

Boney: Hey blogabullers. Enjoying the offseason? At least we kicked your ass.

Prevarbal: I will now end this thread with a haiku

Drafting season nigh
Fleeting glimpses of upside
Hoops hope eternal
