Why do we continue to put up with our fat baby at RT?
I am going to piss a lot of people of with this post, but I do not care. As a season ticket holder I have the right to be pissed off with shawn andrews. We pay good money to see and support this team and I am finally sick of it. Shawn andrews is worthless. He never had the mindset to play in this city and never will. Andrews is too soft mentally and obviously physically. Hes being paid big money to play football, however instead hes being paid big money to sit and stream live you tube videos. Stop rapping and get your fat ass on the field. We went from one of the most reliable RT's in the history of the game to some fat joker who refuses to put in hard work. All he does is shoot his fat mouth off in the media, and tells us to "keep doubting him." Well think about it shawn, you fat bastard, we havent seen you take a snap in almost over a year, so yea we are gonna doubt you. Maybe possibly for once you should get your michael phelps on and do some work. Practice, put in effort, do something. If not, stop stealing money from our city and team and get the hell out!
Quarterback of the Future?
Who will be the Eagles Quarterback next year or the year after? Let me just say this: I want Donovan McNabb to be the Eagles quarterback for the rest of this career. I am a huge 5 supporter and always will be. I believe he has the tools to get the job done and has accomplished a lot over his Eagles career. However I am not sure he will be. Why bring in Michael Vick? We continually here the coaching staff say Michael Vick is a quarter back and they are working on fine tuning his skills. Are they doing this so they can trade him next year? I doubt it. They have invested a decent amont of money in him with a 5.2 million dollar option for next year and they just restructured 5's contract earlier this year. In my opinion there is no way both of them will be here next year. Unfortunately I think McNabb will be the odd man and I definitely do not want that to happen. Why fine tune his skills and spend all this time with Michael Vick, if your not going to keep him. I think Marty and Andy see Vick as the future QB of this franchise. I mean why would they go through the PR nightmare if they did not have long term plans for him. It doesn't add up. You also have to factor in Kevin Kolb. I mean if Kolb doesn't throw an interception to Ed Reed last year in Baltimore, are we even having this conversation?Where does he fit in with all of this as well. Who will start next year?
Too many questions and not enough answers
I was at the game tonight, did it look as bad on TV? Andy Reid said on his post game press conference that Herremans will have surgery on this ankle and it is now a stress fracture and he will miss a few regular season games. The offensive line again was terrible. Peters looks lost and has been nothing but a waist since he has been paid. McNabb was running for his life for three quarters. I felt like I was watching a college team run the spread offense. Do we know how to run the ball, even if Bwest was out? We all know the goal line call which resulted in a touchdown for the Jags was awful, so I won't even go there. Vick wasn't bad, I mean dude hasn't read an NFL defense in two years but still looked better than I thought.
I thought the Defense played decent. The Line really stepped up. Joe Mays however did not look good at all. The offense and special teams put the D in some bad spots with the Eckel fumble and kickoff return and we can obviously take 7 off the board with the fumble return for TD.
The special teams again as usual were garbage with a penalty on every play. Yea I know its preseason but it is still all about execution. The coverage was not very good and Rocca hit about one decent punt.
One thing I noticed about the game was the rhythm. The offense had no rhythm and that is to be expected with Vick coming in every few plays. I'm sure thats why we didn't see him again after half way through the second quarter.
The reception Michael Vick received was amazing, better than I sure thought. It was hard to hear the boos because the cheers were so loud. No protestors, I mean a couple of ppl showed up with dogs at the main gate and that was it, they were a non issue.
Soft O - Line
This Eagles team has to have one of the softest offensive lines in the league and possibly the most overrated. The Andrews' brothers and Jason Peters are too soft. Shawn Andrews is one comment or game from flying over the coo coos nest. He's never healthy (allegedly) or just is to lazy to practice. Jason Peters cried his way out of Buffalo because of his contract situation so the Eagles stepped up and he paid them back by having no worth ethic and not even being on the field. We got rid to two tackles who played hurt constantly and were the bookends of a great line for many years. The comparison is night and day.
