Brian Goins is a multi-platform collegiate journalist at Miami-Dade College who is proficient in all branches of Mass Communication from print and broadcast to photography, graphic/web design and film. He encompasses all of these core writing and new media aspects to efficiently and effectively cover stories by producing media content in a digital perspective. As an undergraduate student, he's managed the opportunity to land a newsroom internship at The Miami Herald, volunteer at The New York Times, and was invited as one of two students to cover last year's New York Press Club Conference live via Twitter and Storify. On campus, he's been a feature writer and copy editor for St. John's University's student newspaper, 'The Torch.' All of Brian's achievements have been largely credited to the Communications Academy he was devoted to throughout high school, where he took part in all facets of: newspaper, TV production, and literary magazine. His combined skill- set, along with his passion pushes him to continue to learn during this ever-so evolving media age. Brian is a Miami native, and more recently he is the co-host/creator of 'The Miami Heat Beat', a weekly Miami Heat podcast that is made available to download for free on iTunes or streamed on iHeartRadio.
