Landy Robs RNH of the Calder?

22

Give me a break. I just love how it goes from "RNH should give Landy a run for his money" to "If RNH doesn't get it, he's been robbed". The author sure convinced himself.

Man Games Lost: Colorado 2011 vs. Minnesota 2012. Down Goes BRey.

I argued with BRey last night regarding man games lost between our two teams. To preface, last year I argued with BRey regarding the Avs' injuries. I said they were a good team but were decimated...

An Opinion As To Why The Waiving Of Yip Is Extremely Important

Mirtle tweeted this after Yip was claimed: " Predators claimed Brandon Yip on waivers. Leafs didn't put in claim. Was surprised the Avs gave up on him, though." (emphasis is mine) This comment...

Worse Defense - Edmonton or Colorado? You Make The Call Because If Your Team Wins An Arbitrary Fan Poll, Then You Don't Have To Realize Your Team Sucks

Unmitigated Disaster had a good idea and I will do it. But, instead of mocking every word from the absurdly misguided, bizarrely inaccurate, and wildly spurious article from the summer, I will just...

Clutterbuck's High Sticking on McC

Very interesting read from Kerry Fraser. The rules are pretty clear as to why there was no penalty and that seems to be the right call. Clutterbuck is still one very dirty player though.

Some love for Duchene

a taste: Can we all agree Duchene is the most electrifying player in the NHL?

The Lurker's Guide to MHH's Editors, Writers, and Commenters

Screw You Craig Anderson.

bq. "It’s Canada, and hockey is Canada, as opposed to playing in Florida and Colorado," I have no connection to Denver besides the Avalanche. But who says that? The Avs now have a younger, more skilled, less balding, more talented, sounder goalie who not only doesn't need rogaine but can girls from Russia instead of staring at untouchable ones like a cheap playboy magazine. Enjoy the bottom of the Eastern Conference that makes you no better than the Islanders.

Worst Team As a Whole - Colorado or Edmonton? You Decide, Part I

AJ inspired me. If the Edmonton blog gets to do completely arbitrary comparisons to prove their team is better than the Avs, then I get to as well. But, I should at least do it in a fair way and...

Colorado Avalanche Official Recap of Training Camp Day 1

From the Avalanche website. This whole marketing and reporting and tweeting pictures things is freaking me out.

just a thought... players goals dont count in shootouts, why should the goalies wins? how about it only counts in the standings

Some dude on Twitter sent this to Puck Daddy. Honestly, it's an interesting question. Wins and shutouts are the only stats in the shootout that count. Why?

Article on Kobasew

Perplexing quote: "While he’s unsure of his role on a team where young 20-year-olds Matt Duchene, Ryan O’Reilly and Tyson Barrie represent the future, Kobasew knows the Avs have the moxy for success." Does this author know something we don't?

Winging It In Motown's Preview of the Avalanche

It's actually not as grossly vitriolic as I expected. A handful of mistakes and some mis-assessment in my opinion, but you can see a sense of worry that the Avs are on the right path. Take it with a grain of salt and for what it's worth.

The Avalanche signs defenseman Kyle Cumiskey to a one-year contract. Details to follow.

It's actually pretty well thought out and well written. I like the "embarrassment of riches" best.

First real hope Parise could eventually be an Av

Arbitration does a number on team/player relationships. The Avs have nothing really to trade for him, but if he hits the market in 2012, which I think he will now, the Avs, I believe, will be bidding. Although, if O'Reilly or Hishon play well, a Stastny/Parise trade could be very very possible. But this is the first real evidence that his days in New Jersey may be numbered.

The epitome of idiocy

I am bored on a train. This is a perfect example of the type of arguments going on to which Jibbles linked a blog and it combines the "search for a perfect number to define hockey" argument that so often annoys many of us. Note the people making up their own system and when some other person ruins it, they start fighting. It's amazing.

Grading Myself: The Stan Kroenke Business Model

Well, I have spoke at length, mostly in angry posts directed at Bob, that I believe there is a financial and business model running the Avalanche and money will be spent.  I do not believe Kroenke...

I don't understand! This math makes no sense!

How are there no Avs on here? I thought they were the worst team ever? How is THE Tyler Bozak that high? I thought he was amazing?

Noooooooooooooo!!!!!

I just saw that Toronto signed THE Tyler Bozak. How will the Avs trade him now. God damnit Toronto keeps making brilliant moves. WHY CAN'T WE HAVE A GM AS GOOD AS THAT.
