Someone do the picture thing. But for the love of god do not choose that ball pit picture. It's so creepy he hangs out in McDonald's play pits after school. I guess NAMBLA meetings are later in...

NHL Playoff Player Rankings [1] Pavel Datsyuk, C, Detroit (95.15) [2] Tim Thomas, G, Boston (90.36)

From TSN. This is their playoff fantasy rankings. Datsyuk is so good he is better than the Conn Smyth winner.

Why This Draft Makes Sense and Thus I Love it

I mentioned a few times before the draft that I saw a pattern to building of the team. Looking at it, I determined Pracey, Sherman, and PL had a plan. Here's the rundown:

2009 Re-draft

TSN's Button would take Duchene first overall. Damn right he would. Tavares who?

I have it worse than Randy

To Calgary: Paul Statsny Peter Mueller To Colorado: Jay Bouwmeester Rene Bourque Leland Irving Calgary clears just over 6 million in cap space which allows them to resign Tanguay. They also finally get a #1 centre to play with Iggy. The Avs get a useful PMD and gain a very good power forward in Bourque that does not have question marks surrounding his health. From reports, it sounds as if Mueller will be able to resume his career, but Calgary would be taking a big risk in aquiring Mueller. But you have to give to get, and Calgary is giving up 2 valuable assets to land Statsny and Mueller. Irving is also a very good goaltending prospect and should be NHL ready by next season. He would give the Avs a very good goaltending prospect.

I went on hfboards again. I have a problem.

Col - Van Hodgson for the 2nd overall (Landeskog) From what I read Landeskog is looked at to be a good 2nd line winger at the NHL level that can be strong defensively and has good wheels and seems like a great match for Kesler.

Rumor Mill

121

[DDC's Note] So, there was a rumor out today about a former Avalanche. Someone posted some twitter updates hinting at some big news and then made a blog post (not here) revealing the shocking details. And then, the twitter account and blog were taken offline. Since the cat is already out of the bag, we're leaving this up, mostly since we don't have this question junking up other threads (like ones about me). Those who really feel the need to know should be able to get a recap below. It's just a rumor though and this one was 3rd-hand anyway (it was relayed to this person from a "reliable source"). Frankly, even if it were true it's not really any of our damn business anyway. So, discuss here if you want and lets keep this crap out of the other threads please.

I don't know why but I can't stop myself from going on Hfboards and reading Av trade proposals. I want to stop, I do, but I can't.
