They are saying that Brett Favre has told Minnesota Vikings officials that he intends to retire. He claims his ankle is not responding the way he wants and is not healing satisfactorily enough to compete in a full season of football.

Will he really retire, or just a ploy to get out of the next few weeks of training camp while trying to get a few extra million to play?

My guess is he will still play, but we can hold out hope.
