PEARCE PEARCE PEARCE PEARCE PEARCE

They better give him a god damned starting position next season!

Not only is he the best prospect in the system, except MAYBE Jose Tabata and Andrew McCutchen (MAYBE), but I screamed my head off for him all season long at Indy and god damn if I don't think he is the coolest dude ever. Have you seen this man chew gum? HAVE YOU? It is amazing. He hit a grand slam early this year here in Indy and he was poppin' bubbles all the way around the bases. He could have been our Joey Votto this year, but NOOO, we didn't call him up til late August, and even then we gave NYJER "I SUCK" MORGAN more consistent at bats.

In conlusion:

POP THAT BUB-BLE *CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP*
POP THAT BUB-BLE *CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP*
POP THAT BUB-BLE *CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP*

430 and 425 feet. The first one was a grand slam. I was at the game and I gotta say it was super exciting. That's the first time I've ever seen a grand slam in real life. They were also Pearce's first two homers of the season, and he's now OPSing .794.

John Van Benschoten pitched 5 innings and gave up 1 run on 4 hits and 3 walks, striking out 3. His pitching is about the same as last season, which makes me think he still won't be able to cut it in the majors.

He stole second and scored the game winning run on a double over the head of former Cardinal Jim Edmonds. Jose Castillo lined out up the middle and Davis almost got caught, but managed to slide back just in time. This update about players previously on the Pirates, or on one of their NL Central rivals, has been brought to you by the last thing I expected to hear an announcer say this season

"The Giants have to play to their strengths, and I right now their strength is speed."
