Why Sell?
I know this is the hot topic on everyone's minds, I just wanted to offer my two cents and see what the other members of this blog think.
I know a lot of you guys feel the Rangers should be selling off players now, but I ask you, who would you guys like to sell? I am sure most of you realize that a good portion of the Rangers NHL roster is under 26 years old and still developing, right? Why not hold on to to the only sell-able asset, Prospal, and see what this team can do in the postseason?
Did we all forget that last year's team, which is much less talented than this year's edition, had three chances to knock off a very strong Caps team? The Rangers have the best GK in the game. When you have a guy like Henke between the pipes you can steal any series. At the very least it's some exposure to playoff hockey, best case scenario the team cobbles together a couple of series victories.
Over the past four years the Rangers organization has shown, year after year, that they can take a mid-first round selection, which is likely what they will end up with again this year, and turn it into a quality NHL player (e.g. Staal, Cherepanov RIP, Sanguinetti, Del Zotto). Just be patient, let Torts build a team with his players, let Drury, R&R go away and let Staal, Del Zotto, Anisimov, Lisin, Callahan, Dubinsky and Girardi develop further and give some time for Saguinetti, Stepan, McDonagh and Grachev to join the NHL party. This team is *loaded* with quality young players. I have never seen anything like this in the 26 years I've been a Rangers fan. Sather does have a plan, it's a *very* long term plan, but it is indeed a plan.
Thanks!
Rozsival sucking wind ...
and about everything else lately.
Anyone else notice in Sunday's game how Rozsival was winded for almost the entire second half of the game? There was a moment when Torts took that timeout after the Rangers iced the puck (pretty sure it was late in the second period) the other four Rangers who were stuck on the ice were standing at the bench and listening to the rest of team and poor old Rozi was off to the side, doubled over, looking like he was about to pass out. This happened a few other times during the third period.
Same thing with the Colorado goal. Rozsival was on the ice for a long shift and basically gave up. He stopped skating and decided the best thing to do is stand directly in front of Chad Johnson and not even bother attempting to clear the man in front of the net.
Please, can we send this deadweight to the KHL and get him out of here?!?
