A lifelong baseball fan, I discovered hockey in the desert of Washington, DC sports while looking for something to do with my child in the late 90s (this was before the Nats...DC too far, Wizards too bad, Redskins too expensive). What a ride it has been. Now a hockey fanatic, although I've never been on the ice (much less roller skates) in my life. I love the game, the action and the athletes. Summer, like baseball, seems interminable now. Can't wait for a little chill in the air!
