Revenge of the Birds Cards fire QB coach Chris Miller

According to Arizona Sports 620, the Cardinals fired Quarterback coach Chris Miller late Monday evening. Rumors have swirled of a potential return of Todd Haley. This coaching staff move now makes room for Haley.

Many sources have reported the hiring of Todd Haley will take place this week. The coaching alignment shift will reportedly move Offensive Coordinator Mike Miller to Quarterbacks coach and insert Todd Haley in to the vacated role. Wide Receivers coach John McNulty will keep his position.

It is worth noting Mike Miller was promoted from the Wide Receiver coach position to Passing Game Coordinator after Haley left to be Head Coach for the Chiefs. John McNulty was most recently Offensive Coordinator/Quarterback coach at Rutgers before joining the Cardinals in 2009. Until the final details are announced, there could be a change in roles between these two coaches.

Now it seems all the wheels are set in motion, is the rehiring of Haley good thing?

Revenge of the Birds Von Miller part of the anti-trust lawsuit against the NFL

I just came across this.  Miller sues the NFL.  Von Miller is listed as a plaintiff along with established NFL players are suing the NFL for collaborating against the players to "cheat" them out of money.  Miller is the only draft prospect to be listed as a plaintiff so far.  Some think Miller is in the lawsuit to combat a potential rookie wage scale.  PFT's Mike Florio suggests if the lawsuit continues in to 2012, a new draft prospect will be added to the lawsuit to continue fighting a rookie wage scale.  And yes, PFT is the NFL's version of TMZ and almost as reliable as Wikipedia.

So I ask you all, what does this mean for Miller's draft status or the likelihood the Cardinals will draft him?  I think this is foreshadowing some difficulty in getting Miller signed because he'll hold out to get the most money.  Or on the other hand, was he chosen to represent the upcoming rookies because of his age and experience?  I'd have to say this is either a huge Pro or a huge Con in the evaluation process depending on how it actually went down.

I still want Von Miller at 5.  Hopefully this helps the chances that he is still there when we pick.  C'mon Von, no matter what you're going to be the highest paid LB in the draft.  So keep up with the scare tactics because we know you want to be in Cardinal Red!
