Uncharted Territory....
So I was browsing movies on Netflix, and was lucky enough to come across Uncharted Territory, it is about the Badgers 2006-2007 season which has Alando Tucker, Kammron Taylor, and Jason Chappel as seniors. I'm sure most people remember it, as it was the first time Badgers Basketball was ranked #1 I believe. It is narrated by Mat Lepay, and not gonna lie, I am pretty pumped about watching it. Just thought I would let everyone know about it, in case you hadn't already- this is the first I've seen the DVD
Becoming a fan...
So, unlike many of the other people I see on this site, I am a newcomer to Boston Celtics fanatics. To be honest, I only started watching them after the addition of "the big 3" last year. In fact, before that I had never really been a fan of the NBA in general. I was, and still am, a huge college basketball fan, but for some reason I never found myself that interested in the pro game. I live in Wisconsin, and there isn't really much hype or coverage given to the NBA, and grew up not having much of an interest in the sport at all. All this changed about a year ago when I read that KG and Ray Allen would be joining the Celtics. I have always been a supporter of Ray Allen as he was once a Milwaukee Buck, and became interested in this move to the Celtics.
I began watching the games, checking out the blogs, newspaper articles, and all the Celtic info I could get my hands on. Needless to say I am hooked, and I really wish I would have followed not only the Celtics, but NBA much longer. I had this idea of the NBA, that everyone was only there for the money, and that it was not as exciting as college ball, because I felt that college players had more passion for the sport. I was definitely proven wrong. When I saw Allen, KG, and Pierce speaking when the deal was first made, I could feel the passion they all have for the game, and the Celtics play was a huge eye opener. Whether its Eddie House's hand pump after draining a 3, or Rondo getting fired up after a bad call, I came to realize my view of the NBA was entirely wrong. I found the SBnation half way through last season, and began following Celticsblog, and partly due to summer boredom joined today, with this being my first actual blog post. So I have a lot of catching up to do on Celtic History, and I am still trying to grasp the contract negotiation terminology, and what not, I am having a lot of fun doing it. Hopefully by October I will be up to speed with the other fans on the site, although I have a long way to go.
