Arrowhead Pride Random Thoughts OR I Lika Do Da Cha-Cha

Carthagechief here...news is slow today. Work? Even slower. So, Time to stir the pot. Without further ado, my quick hit thoughts on this season's Chiefs! (With all new episodes starting in 2 weeks, right after American Idol!) Brought to you by RC Cola and a moonpie:

-NFL Draft, 1st round...30 mins into it (or about 4 beers): Chiefs take Eric Berry. Nuff said.

-One of the old timers (Waters,Wiegmann, Vrabel)starts taking Ensure during OTA's, decides it's better than Gatorade, quits team and goes on a national ad campaign pushing Ensure for older athletes.

-During training camp, Brokie will trip over a sweat rag, effectively ending his season.

-1st preseason game, at the ATL, 4th quarter...not the same team when he left, sees scoreboard. Tony G cries.

-4th preseason game, Green Bay Packers: With Brokie out and Palko and Gutierrez rounding out the bullpen, Favre calls Pioli, unretires for one game, plays into the 3rd quarter. Throws 10 Int's. Retires again.

Quick, half-serious thoughts on the regular season:

-Cassell impresses. Despite a hard to convince Chiefs fandom, he wins them over with Tebow-esque moxie.

-Charles won't play bad, but teams are ready for him. Fumbling problems leads him to being roomed with Tamba for the rest of the season.

-Chambers and Bowe will mesh like Laverne and Shirley, OR Mork and Mindy..pick a fave sitcom duo.

-I will have better stats than the Chiefs TE's at the end of the year.

-Brandon Albert goes to Pro Bowl. As a LEFT TACKLE

-O'Cally plays and starts all 16 games. Allows 2 sacks all season.

-Vrabel joins the Ensure club because he gets hit by the Studebaker.

-DJ takes off the diapers (heard that somewhere), plays like everybody knows he can. Leads league in LB Int's.

-Tamba breaks double digit sacks. Even with teams overloading that side, they can't block Dorsey and Tamba both.

-Carr catches up. He and Flowers become the Hasty and Carter Show, Part Duex

-Berry and Page solidfiy the run D, take turns leading the league in INT's all season.

-Colquitt and Succop go to the top.

So there you have it.....enjoy, mutilate, praise,or cry. Whatever you feel like. It's Friday! Go Chiefs!!!!

Arrowhead Pride Never Too Early to Talk Tailgating...What's on the Menu Edition

News is slow this afternoon compared to the flurry of news since camp started. So, I decided it's a good time of day to start talking food. I've already planned out my menu for Opening Day: Brats with all the fixins, burgers, and cooler of beer! I've seen a wide variety of things being cooked on a grill out there in my day...some good, some great!...So, let's hear it! What's your favorite tailgating food? What's on the menu for your opening day?

Arrowhead Pride Favorite "What the hell just happened?!" moments

We as fans all have our "What the hell just happened?!" moments. Probably more than we can recall.

For me, it was the 2002 game against the Browns. It was a tight game, with the Browns having a slight lead with just seconds left in the game. Green went back to pass, and the Browns blitzed. I think everyone thought that Rudd had sacked Green, but in fact he had lateraled the ball to John Tait. Tait bumbled down into field goal range and was knocked out of bounds. End of Game right? Wrong. Rudd had taken his helmet off in celebration drawing a flag! Game can't end on defensive penalty, so here comes Old Man River (Morten Andersen) and kicks a field goal for the win....with 0:00 on the clock. I just lost it! I couldn't believe it. I had written the game off a few minutes back. I was shocked. So was everyone else...

Anyways, since news right now is like a wet weather stream in a desert, I thought I'd spark something up...

What is your WTF moment? Good or bad...let's hear it!

Arrowhead Pride Comedy Relief

I was just sitting here trying to think up something interesting to talk about on a slow news day.

We've all had good times and bad at a game. What i'm looking for is: What is some of your funniest memories being at the game? Anything goes...something that you did, something someone did to you, or just something you observed walking through the parking lot.

Here's mine: I was well into a 12 pack and had to go to the bathroom. I was staggering through cars in the parking lot trying to reach the nearest port-o-potty...I was just in between two SUV's when a buddy shouted my name from behind me (he was trying to catch up to me) I swiveled my head around just for a second, still walking...then BAM! Someone in the SUV to my right opened their door from the inside. Needless to say, the door won. I was knocked smooth out. After a few seconds I came to, hearing people laughing uncontollably. Apparently my buddy shouting had alerted all the people I had just passed and they watched the whole thing. Not funny then, but it is now.

Arrowhead Pride In the not TOO distant future....

You haven't slept. You dont really care, you're too amped to care...Your buddies are outside, it's time to go...

On the way you start to feel it...that all too familiar rush. You double check in your head..yea, you got everything. Almost nervous now. Like a first date. You want that first beer in the cooler, but not yet...soon.

Stupid Raiders fans can't drive...Yes!!! Turn here damn it! Your patience is waning. You turn it to the pregame for a distraction...Lenny is optimistic, he likes this new number "7"...

You turn the corner, almost there...it's pulling you in...finally! The parking lot! You can't get to your spot fast enough...you tear yourself out of the car. Time stops....

It's a different world. a RED world...You get the feeling you are invincible (haven't even had a beer yet...) Then it hits you...that heavenly mix of BBQ, meat, and fixins. it envelops you completely...o.k...time for a beer!

The people next to you are playing a game of catch, the women are making sure things "fit right"...your buddies are setting up the grill...DAMN! I've been missing this!!!

You look around and there it is...like a mountain in a sea of plains, bigger than life...ARROWHEAD! The smoke from the grills creating a halo of offering to the football gods. You cheers the site...one for DT!

You can feel the excitement. It permeates you from head to toe...Chiefs and Raiders, BBQ and beer, hot sun and hot women, fireworks and flyovers...Where else would you rather be???!!!

Damn I hate the Raiders...it's time to get this thing on!

Arrowhead Pride Ramblings of a Newcomer...

Hey everyone!

Obviously, I'm new...I've been coming to this site for quite a while, I love the atmosphere here! You guys are always entertaining!

Anyway...I wanted my first post here to be at least something of substance, and here's my thoughts on what I can see happening relating to draft day:

Ok, we get lucky. We find a trade partner and trade out of the 3rd pick. Curry is now a non-factor and in my opinion none of the remaining LB's blow my skirt up as far as being a 1st round option. I think with the highest pick we obtain in the trade, we select the best remaining LT. With the second, hopefully a first rounder too, I think we should go C or a DE like Kruger (I like that guy).

Now, we've all seen the current status of our LB corps. Yikes! But, I have an idea...and someone might have already said this, but...I'd think we move Pollard to OLB, and move Morgan up to starting safety. With our 3rd, pick up a sleeper LB to be Vrabel's understudy.

Well, that's all I have...I'd love some feed back. GO CHIEFS!
