Dorsey trade rumors

Hey dont know if anyone else was listening to nick wright this morning......but he said there have been rumors of a trade that would send glenn dorsey to the rams and the chiefs would recieve adam carriker and there 2nd rounder(33rd pick)

Im not a big fan of trading dorsey away....but that deal seems almost too good to be true......especially with the depth of this years draft.

Just wondering if anyone else had also heard anything about this......and what you thought about it

Arrowhead Pride The defense of Mount Cody

Everybody has already seen the picture of terrence cody(looking like whitlock) weighing in at the senior bowl.....some threw up....some lost thier appetite.....and others were just disgusted. Yeh terrence cody could have said no to the senior bowl and dropped out like andre smith did last year at the combine.

But im hear to defend mount cody....so after doing alot of thinking and a little research. I  think most of us can agree that vince wilfork is the best 3-4 NT in the game right now, and I would be all for giving him a big contract to get him in here....plus it would save us a draft pick.

So i decided to check out wilforks size coming out of college...and I found these stats on miami's athletic website. It had wilfork listed at 6'2(74 inches) and 344 pounds. That seems like alot of weight on a 6'2 frame......wilfork is now listed as 325 with the patriots but all the pictures ive seen he looks alot heavier than 325.

and now to the case for Mr. Cody.....Let me first state that i dont think we should draft him in the first round.....but i think hes worth serious look at our first  second rounder.....hes looked dominate in all the film ive seen....swallowing up 2 or 3 blockers at a time. Everyone says he will only be able to play on 1 and 2nd down....and yeh that might be true.....but ive also seen that our nickel packages on 3rd down usually consist of 2 down lineman. We know he is overweight now and listed at 6'5 370.....I really think after the senior bowl he will have a little more time to devote to training for the combine and will weigh in somewhere around 360( but thats still to be determined)

and now to the numbers I took a look at wilfork height(inches) and weight and compared them to cody's coming out of college

Wilfork- 344/74 inches=4.65 lbs/inch

Cody-370/77 inches=4.8 lbs/inch

so if you would put wilfork weight ratio to cody's taller frame it would put wilfork at 358 pounds

Now im not trying to say that cody is on the same skill level as wilfork or even remotely close to vince....Im just trying to look at cody from a diffrent point a view.....I just think were all soo focused on this cute pictureTerrence Cody

and writing him off as the next bust......but i think he can really help solidify our NT position..... like i said i would love to get wilfork in here, but i just dont see it happening. Im anxious to see what Cody will do at the combine but for now speculation will pass the time.

So what do you guys think about cody after seeing a diffrent point of view, do you want to see what he weighs at the combine, have you already wrote him off, or do you want to draft him regardless.

Arrowhead Pride WOOOOOOOOOOOOW

After reading the LJ tweet comments, everyone was either dogging LJ, cassel or pioli/haley and i think all of them to be somewhat accountable.... but pioli/haley need to be first, for their poor talent evaluation of this team they inherited. So here are some of my thoughts

Pioli/Haley

First starting with pioli, i think he will be a great GM for the chiefs, I just dont understand how he could be so off in his evaluation of the O line and recieving core. I think there were alot of servicable O lineman that could have improved this team, especially jason brown. The free agent receivers were a diffrent story, outside of houshmanzadeh and washington there wasnt alot there, as we all have seen housh hasnt done much since getting paid. I also think we thought the draft would add some starters but it obviously didnt, I hope that it was pioli drafting in NE and not bellichek. I think tyson will be a descent end but only time will tell, so the only real contributor from the draft has been succop, i hope alot of the other players will develop, but like i said only time will tell.

Haley

Again i think only time will tell but i think hes biggest mistake was letting gailey go, just watching what gailey did with this terrible offense last year, showed how good a OC he really was. I also think haley need to cut out the hard nose a hole character, the only way that works is when you have proven that you can win. Grown men arent going to be treated like babies by a guy that hasnt proven he can be a NFL coach.

Cassel

this could be a biased view because im a huge cassel fan. but i just dont think we can point fingers at him. Yeh he has had two terrible games oakland and today where he throught five INT. but give the guy a break he protects the ball and does the best he can with what hes been dealt. It all starts with the line when hes running for his life and getting sacked 4 or 5 times a game, that just makes it impossible for a QB to get comfortable back there. This also leadds to the lack of rushing game, if we cant rush it how is he supposed to open up the passing game. And lastly the recieving core, We need more quality recievers if we arent going to use a tight end in the passing game we need at least two more good recievers. Soo i think we just need to give the guy some time and some talent around him, yeh everyone says we payed him 63 million dollars he should be doing wonders but a little over ten million a year isnt that much when your talking about the most important player on your team.......everyone wanted sanchez and now look at him it looks like the first couple of games were a little decieving and hes making alot more that cassel

LJ

same goes with LJ and the rest of the running backs in the league, your only as good as the line thats blocking for you. This is deffinatly visible when LJ had the best line in the league compared to what he has now. And all the people that think we should have cut him who would have ran the ball, kolby just got back, charles fumbles wayyy too much and looks like he is too small to be an every down runner, i think he is a great compliment back but not someone who should carry the ball 25 times a game, and jackie battle should just stick with Special teams. As for his twitter comments, i dont think he should have called out haley so publicly, but i think someone has to hold haley accountable, the players shouldnt have too be treated like children but more like the professionals they are.

With all this being said i think its only gonna take time, I think cassel and LJ can still be the type of players we were all hoping they would be as long as we get 2 or 3 quality lineman in the draft and free agency next year.

Arrowhead Pride New regime still high on secrecy

I showed up today to take a glimpse of the new chiefs during their conditioning test today. I knew nothing exciting would be going on but still wanted to watch. We were sitting in our car waiting for it to start at ten, when todd haley walked by and I said Hey and he kind of looked almost mad that we were there to watch but he kind of gave a obligated wave. So they were stretching and we were standing over 100 yards away and then the the security guard get a call on his walkie talkie that says send the fans home its closed today, there wasnt two many fans maybe ten or so. So the security guard nicely told us we had to go. After winning 6 games over the last two years, I  thought the new regime would be a little more supportive of the fans that drive the 7 hours too watch them PRACTICE, but i guess i was wrong. We currently have 2 season tickets and we were going to try and get 2 more, but i just dont think im going to spend that much money until this secracy finally pays off.

but i was just wondering what you guys thought about all this secracy

Arrowhead Pride What to do with the $$$$$

With larry foote being released and Jason taylor still out there I really hope that pioli throws some money there way. Both of these guys could come in and upgrade the defense.Foote could play ILB and move DJ to outside, If we got taylor he could go outside and DJ could stay inside. Im not sure that tamba can be very effective at LB, but i hope he can prove the doubters wrong like he has his whole life.

That aside we still have alot of cap room that has TO BE SPENT. After looking at the numbers and im not 100% sure on them we have at least 8 million to spend.

The salary cap is 127 million and 86.4%(not positive) has to be spent which is a little over 109 million. It was recently reported that we had about 31 million in cap space(and could be more if cassel signs his deal) this puts us at 96 mil. And the NFL has alloted us 5.5 mil to spend on our rookie class this year. so...

96+5.5=101.5

109.7-101.5=8.2 that we have to spend.

I know management can do alot with wieghting contracts so they effect more in certain years then others. But as of now we have 8.2 million to spend. I believe pioli still has some work left to do and I think he will sign one of his biggest free agents soon.

Best case scenario is that pioli trades for boldin and signs foote, both moves would give us a great chance of winning the AFC west.

So what would you guys do with this 8.2 million left that we have to spend.

Arrowhead Pride Winnin the west

As i watch the draft all 256 picks anxiously awaiting a trade up, this was something we never had to worry about with carl you could come and go and check out who we drafted knowing he couldnt pull off a trade if his life depended on it. There were a couple of things that jumped out to me.

1) we didnt draft a LB(ILB or OLB) with the flexibility of DJ eiether spot could have contributed. Must really see something in Hali at OLB.

2) After drafting jackson in the first with our next pick we take Magee. So whats this mean for dorsey. I know pioli wants depth and versatility, but if we are paying that kind of money to dorsey I dont want to see him subing in and out with a third rounder. These two seem very similar to me

Glenn Dorsey 6-2 297                Alex Magee-6-3 298

Similar body size I dont think that one inch will make alot of diffrence at the end position.I would have rather seen 6-5 jarron gilbert  to play end, I believe going the next pick. I know pioli has a knack for finding talent but didnt really understand this one, depth can be found later in the draft we need starters. The only real diffrence i see in these guys is that one a third rounder and the other was a very highly touted player coming out of college, some had him as the best Defensive player in last years draft.

3)No center drafted. I thought for sure caldwell was coming are way but pioli must believe in Rudy Rudy Rudy Rudy

4) Colin Brown pick- I think he can become a good tackle but with jamon meridith still on the board i thought we could have picked him up and he possibly could have started day one. All I know is i dont want to see sackintosh out there.

I believe that we deffinatly had the best draft in the AFC west.

Denver took a running back when 18 of there 53 man roster is already RB

Oakland dosent need any explaing

San Diego descent draft but reached for english at 16

With this being said i think we already are one up of the rest of the division espicially with Cassel vrabel deal and the other free agent signing.

I believe these last few moves will put us in the driver seat to win the divsion

Sign Larry foote-28 years old, experience in the  3-4, knows how to win, hasnt missed a start in the last five years,Has AVG 81 tkls since becoming a starter.seems like he fits pioli mold to a T. LB core would be 200% better than last years.

vrabel-foote-thomas-DJ

Sign Levi Jones- Yeh some people say hes a diva and this a that, but would be a giant upgrade from sackintosh, 29 years old, Move him to RT and leave albert where he is. Line would look alot better from last year.

Albert-Waters-Niswanger-Goff(mike not jack)-jones

And last but not least

Anquan Boldin-I think we could try and give them our two first rounders for next year, If they dont like that I say give them the 1st. Hell if we got him it could be pick number 32 anyways(super bowl champs for the slow ones).I know most prolly wouldnt want to trade the first for him but i believe he will contribute alot more than are 1st rounder would. Plus we can address are needs in FA with a deep class of free agents available. I really think him, bowe,LJ,Cottam, and cassel could be scary good together.

Now im not going to get my hopes up like I did the night of free agency and during the draft. because im not sure pioli wants to take those kinds of risk right away in his first year. In new england he could take those risk because NE was stacked, he was pretty much playing with house money. But here the chiefs have too many needs to take those risk in both free agency and the draft.

but I will pray tonight that Don Pioli will read this post while im sleeping tonight and when i wake up All three are signed. and we can return to the top of the AFC WEST

Well i should prolly go do my 6 page paper i have been putting off to write this post.

Arrowhead Pride Trade Tony

I never thought i would be able to say this but i think the best solution with tony is to trade him. He has said if a deal can get worked out he would like to leave for a super bowl  contender, and i think we should grant him his wish. Like Teicher pointed out in his vlog today, if tony wanted to be here he would want to get out there and practice with cassel for the first time. I know its not making him better or worse if he attended the mini camp but you think he would want to get a feel for the new QB.

I think we should take the Falcons up on the offer of at least a second and hopefully a 5th.

I also think waters wants out and we should grant him this as well. Best case scenario is we trade the third overall and waters to Buffalo for thier 11,28, and 42. This would fill the holes of Jason Peters and Dockery on thier O line, with the third they could take monroe, which i believe is just as good as Peters and waters is an upgrade from dockery

I also think we should try to trade down just like everybody does, but the best case scenario we would trade waters and tony

After these trades i think we should draft like this

Rd 1-DE-Tyson Jackson

Rd 1-Rt Eben britton

Rd 2 -OLB-Clint sintim

Rd 2 -LG-Duke Robinson

Rd 3-TE-chase coffman

Rd 4-C-Antoine Caldwell or A.Q shipley

Rd 5-NT-samie lee hill

Then the BPA for the rest of the picks

Although I dont think were going to be able to trade out of the third spot, we will see just how good of a draft day trader pioli really is.

With these picks Jackson would fill are hole of a 3-4 DE. Eben Britton would solidify the other tackle and Albert could stay at LT where he thrived this year. Clint sintim would be a good outside linebacker he led all OLB last year  with 11 sacks, this would soldify the LB corps with vrabel-DJ-Thomas-Sintim. Duke robinson is the best Guard in this years draft and would fill waters hole, and would bring youth to the line. With the abscence of Tony I think Coffman and Cottam could become a good duo. I think center has to be addressed Niswanger got dominated last year and ithink Caldwell would add another young body to are starting line. Smaie lee hill is protypical size for a NT in the 34 and I think hime and tank could battle for the starting spot.

I think these move would address all of our holes and still bring alot of youth to the team. Althought its far fetched what do u guys think of these trades.

Arrowhead Pride New mock draft

I was just checking out scouts new updated mock draft post cutler era. I have seen my fair share of mock drafts and I have never seen a projected trade involved. But they have a projected trade with Kansas city #3 and denvers two first round picks. It looks like a pretty good mock draft other than the Sanchez going #1

Heres the link http://profootball.scout.com/2/853317.html

I deffinatly dont see broncos trading up to get stafford possibly sanchez but not stafford

The other thing that stuck out to me was they had us taking Tyson Jackson with the number 12, which i believe we would take mauluga if he was still on the board. and Have us taking Andre smith with the #18, which i think would be a great pickup although i dont think he will fall that far.

Just wondering what you guys thought if this happened, do you like those picks

Arrowhead Pride Trade with Denver?

I understand everyone dosent want to hear about trade down scenarios with a AFC west rival but this makes serious sense

LIke some stated earlier there is a 100 pt diffrence between the #3 and the #12 and #18 which is alot better deal then the eagles two picks.

NEEDS:

DE/OLB

RT

C

ILB

NT

With all of these needs right now, were deffinatly going to need more picks to fill them

I know noone wants to give the broncos the chance to take one of this year top QB which are Stafford or sanchez. But if they did sign either one to the big contract that comes with the #3, they would be stuck with Simm, Orton, and stafford/sanchez. which i am completely fine with, I dont THINK any of them have the ability to become a star.

Worst case scenario- the broncos get 2 starters this year(most likely on Defense) and play with simms or orton and see how they do in a below average AFC west. IF they both fail then the broncos will be sitting there at next years draft with two more first round picks and could take thier pick on either BRADFORD or MCCOY.Both have serious chance of becoming stars.

I just think we need to do this for the sake of how weak this years QB class is. I know i would rather see stafford throwing picks to us then bradford throwing touchdowns on us.

Then it could pan out like this hopefully filling our holes(give me your ideas on what you guys would do with these 5 picks)

RD1-Everette Brown

1-Rey Mauluga or next best ILB

3-eric wood

4-Best RT

5-DT samie lee hill

I think it makes alot of since and i was wondering what you guys thought. we need something to talk about for the next 3 weeks now that the crybaby is out of denver.

Arrowhead Pride Three way trade involving chiefs Thoughts?

Hey guys i was really thinking about this and dont know if it would be equal outcome for everyone. we need to address some needs i think before the draft and i was thinking what you guys thought about this idea.

chiefs would swap thier #3 pick to the browns for thier 5th and shaun rogers

Browns then trade thier #3 and brady quinn to Denver for cutler and thier #13

Outcome would be

Chiefs-move back two spots and pick up a dominate NT

Browns-Get a starting QB and move back to the #13

Broncos-get a good QB and can do what they please with the #3 whether that is trading down and getting picks out of it, or take curry

I think this would be a good outcome for all of the teams the chiefs could still have a chance at taking a LT at #5 or trade back and pick up a 2nd rounder, while filling a big hole we now have at NT

What are your guys thoughts about this trade and whether all side come out happy
