This should be familiar. Miller is an honest dude. He's playing behind Lawson, and he's made a career of being underrated.

"At this point in my career, I don't see myself as a backup," Miller, who entered the NBA in 1999, said in an interview with FOXSports.com. "For 13 years, I wasn't a backup before. This is a short season (due to the lockout), so I'll deal with it. But I don't see myself as a backup at this point in my career. I don't see that."

Not much, right? An entire article based on that. So let us put it into perspective with the one quote from Coach Karl...
"I'm glad he's proud of himself and he wants to play," Karl said. "But I think this still is the best opportunity for him."

When asked a hierarchical question Miller is going to answer it honestly. It's interesting only in the sense that Lawson and Miller present very different games in a system that probably caters more to Lawson than Miller yet Karl seems to take a shining to Miller based on seniority and familiarity.

Patty bruised his way to 20 points in a scrappy game in the fiery Oceania Championship. If you've watched enough Flight of the Conchords you know exactly how intense this rivalry between nations can be. This series is being undersold and overshadowed by Eurobasket 2011, but those of us in the know...we're clued in. Despite the general universal ambivalence these two squads continue to fight quite literally for that spot in the Olympics. If Patty and the Boomers want to make it to London they'll bring this same intensity on Friday.

A stellar example of fail; misses dunk, thinks he made it, runs into teammate and gets called for the travel. And the Celtics lose by one in OT. Von Wafer, I salute you.

Dwight Jaynes, in responding to an e-mail insinuating Brandon Roy is OCD:

"I’m not sure what to think of all this but I will tell you this, if you’re watching Roy lately, just keep an eye out for the tapping and wiping the forehead thing. It goes on even when he’s dribbling the ball. A LOT. And the whole thing of sticking the hands under the jersey happens frequently, too."

He goes on to say that it could mean nothing, but also suggests that a lot of his issues on the court like dribbling, passing and finding open guys have nothing to do with the knee. I might argue otherwise, but we all have opinions.

So are Roy's struggles primarily physical or mental? IMO, logically, with injury comes hesitation. Rest him. Let him get his confidence back. A Roy hesitant to cut into the lane and draw the foul isn't the Roy we know.

Just thought I would highlight a rather interesting Jaynes blog.

16 points, 5 boards and 2 assists in 26 and a half minutes. Downside is 4 turnovers and he had a shot blocked. Bright side is this team is 2-0 with Babbitt and 0-7 without him.

Not exactly new or surprising, but it's interesting to know Cho is keeping options open.

He was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his fiance when he tried to snatch her purse away from her at their home in Mesa, Arizona. He then took a cab to Phoenix and bailed on the driver without paying. Sad.

Blazer's Edge Ode to Tim Legler

Thank you, Mr. Legler, for recognizing the obvious talent we have in Mr. Roy, and thank you again for properly representing the challenge Mr. Roy obviously presents to Mr. Bryant. It can be properly inferred from the curse with which Mr. Bryant referred to Mr. Roy and his team that the Portland Trailblazers are on a well-deserved run, and that we will present many challenges to opposing teams this post-season, despite the relative inexperience (especially LA).

Despite your "All-Legs Team" consisting of Derek Fisher and Luis Scola, you did include Joel Przybilla. Much respect. You have an obvious knack for recognizing hidden talent. Your mention of Brandon Bass was obviously misplaced. We know you meant to say Brandon Roy, but we will forgive you just this once.

Blazer's Edge Stacey King's Stellar Color Commentary

Maybe it's too much to expect more from a guy who managed to finagle three championship rings out of an otherwise disappointing, much too long career in the NBA, but it would have been appreciated if he had done enough homework to know that no such Charles Outlaw exists on the Blazers roster. The fact that the dude you meant to refer to almost single-handedly tore your team a new one almost seems like justice, but what's left of the man in me refuses to pick further on a Chicagoan who has clearly made it a priority to relish in the city's love of beefy, phallic treats.
