Charlottesville Regional Weather: Not Looking Good
UPDATE: Nothing official yet, but by all accounts they're not getting either game in today. Hard to say at this point exactly how it will change the schedule, but clearly this is less than ideal for everyone involved.
Games are currently in a weather delay and according the forecast provided by Streaking The Lawn its not looking good for today.
Charlottesville Regional Team Capsules - Fourth Seed Army
Army enters the Charlottesville Regional with the best overall record at 41-13. However, their RPI ranking of 272 is the reason for their #4 seed. The Black Nights won the Patriot League tournament and enter the NCAA as an automatic qualifier to make their first appearance since 2009.

Charlottesville Regional Team Capsules - Third Seed Appalachian State
Don't let the third seed fool you. The Mountaineers can come to play and they can for sure bring the wood. As a team they have belted 43 home runs and knocked in 356 RBI. Despite the fact that they are making their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1986 the Southern Conference regular season champions don't plan on being an easy out for anyone.
Charlottesville Regional Team Capsules - Second Seed Oklahoma
Oklahoma's baseball season essentially seemed to be over on May 6th when they dropped the rubber match of the Bedlam series 3-2. However, instead of raising the white flag of surrender the Sooners responded by winning eight of their final eleven games, including a three-game sweep over then second ranked Baylor and a run to the championship game of the Big XII Tournament.
Now the Sooners are rolling into Charlottesville full of energy and possibly playing their best baseball of the season.
Charlottesville Regional Team Capsules - Top Seeded Virginia
Just the fact that Oklahoma is playing in baseball's post season is a considerable improvement considering that less than a month ago many of us had this team pegged as staying home this summer. Instead the Sooners are off to Virginia to take a shot at reaching their second College World Series in three years. The field of four teams in the Charlottesville Regional is deep and experienced. Virginia is the host team and no doubt has the thought of revenge on their minds.
Video: Sooner Baseball Takes The #2 Seed In Charlottesville Regional
Oklahoma's run in the Big XII baseball tournament left them one win shy of the conference title. The silver lining in that is that the Sooners loss to Missouri leave a particular team south of Oklahoma out of the dance. Now the Sooners are off to Charlottesville to face some stiff competition in their NCAA regional.

Hopefully the Sooners deliver a better performance than they are expecting them to.
2012 Countdown To Kickoff: 94 Days!

Oklahoma's David Baker recorded the first score of the 1958 Orange Bowl when he intercepted Duke quarterback Bob Brodhead's pass and returned it 94-yards for a touchdown. The score helped Oklahoma gain a 21-14 lead over the Blue Devils going into the fourth quarter. Bud Wilkinson's Sooners outscored Duke 27-7 in the fourth quarter to turn the game into a 48-21 rout. You can see Baker's interception in the video after the jump. It is the second play of the clip.

Highlights Of The Sooners 7-2 Win Over Baylor
The Baylor Bears went 22-1 against Big XII schools not named Oklahoma this season. Against the Sooners Baylor was 0-4 going into Saturday mornings Big XII Tournament games. The Bears would need to beat OU twice to reach Sunday's championship while Oklahoma need only to win once. Baylor was never close as they dropped their fifth game to the Sooners in 2012, moving OU on to face the winner of Missouri/Kansas for the conference title.

Harvard Baseball - Call Me Maybe
College baseball players spend a lot of time on the road, so why not make the most of it, right? This parody done by the Harvard baseball team has been duplicated by other college baseball teams (including Florida) and club sports all across the country. However, just as in everything else, you just can't beat the original.

If you had any doubt about Oklahoma's post-season fate going into this morning's Big XII Tournament opener against Oklahoma State then you can breathe easy now. Facing the Big XII's Pitcher of the Year, the Sooners were held at bay for most of the morning. However, OU was able to counter with an excellent pitching performance from starter Dillon Overton and reliever Steven Okert to keep the Cowboys off the board.

Big XII Baseball Tournament Begins With Bedlam In Bricktown
Its a great match-up in a horrible time slot! When you're the host city of any tournament the top game you'd like to see is the two state schools facing each other. Its good for the tournament, good for the city and great for attendance...unless its a game slated for a 9:00 am start. That's exactly what the Big XII did to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, essentially shooting themselves in the foot in terms of Wednesday attendance.
Sooners Land Another Transfer In DB Cortez Johnson
Cornerback Cortez Johnson has decided to follow Mike Stoops to Norman, Oklahoma and will play for the Sooners. A true freshman for the Wildcats in 2011, Cortez played in eight games where he recorded 16 tackles and a pass broken up.
Johnson was a 3-star prospect coming out of O. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans. In addition to Arizona, he received offers from Louisiana Tech, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Southern Miss.
Due to the NCAA transfer rule, Johnson will be ineligible for the 2012 season but will be able to add depth and experience at a position that will lose starter Demontre Hurst following this season.
Welcome to Sooner Nation, Cortez!
