The issue here is that thee is a good chance of good teams, contenders that won't make it to the title, might pursue quality veterans to make a stronger push next year.

I'm not discussing what Heat gave or Ray wanted. The Heat pursued Ray because they knew he will be helpful in their team. And the same thing this year, other teams might pursue KG/PP, regardless what KG/PP want.
