Should the Celtics give up on the Big Three for the future?

Much speculation has brought some to the conclusion that Ray Allen will be dealt by the summers end. I cannot argue with the fact that he has been hot and cold throughout the season and his 19 million dollar contract will be a burden to any future signings the Celtics may have in the future, but when the game was on the line, there was no other option for a quick shot than Ray Allen, with the exception of Paul Pierce. Some say that this draft is that of a weak one, but i beg to differ. With the exception of Griffin and Rubio, i think this draft is filled with above average to great prospects ready to help immediately to numerous teams. I believe the celts should move up to a top five pick for a like a Thabeet, or Rubio, or even James Harden (projected number 3-4) who could fit nicely into a shooting guard role, if the need calls for it. Unfortunately i doubt the Celtics would trade up just for Harden. Rubio would only be in a Celtics uniform if Rondo were to be shipped, and I have not given up on him. He has progessively improved all categories including his shot and pass-making abilities. I am not disregarding the thought the Rubio would fit well in Boston, i am just saying is to give Rondo some more time. I have given up on the progression of Perkins, for he showed some light toward the end of the year, but still he is not everything that was expected of him. I would give him up with other options for Hasheem Thabeet because, despite his poor offensive skills, where better for a developing 7-3 big man to go than Boston with Cliff Ray and Tom Thinebeau. He will complement very well for Garnett and pose an interior threat and hopefully ( if we keep Ray Allen and Eddie House) give our outside shooters some easy points.
