I guess this means that Kobe thinks "heads should roll" in the Warriors FO?

This has to be pure speculation, but if it isn't, I could find myself feeling less disappointed over Ellison and warming up a bit more to the new guys.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, another season of Nellie drama looms. Who will be the first player to publicly demand a trade this year? My money is on Monta. Followed by Wright if he's off the injury list.

No need to worry about Jack any more folks, Nellie says it's all worked out now.

Orlando also has the luxury of having a primarily offensive player, Pietrus, who is for some reason excited at the prospect of trying to guard LeBron. Two years ago, stuck on the bench for a Golden State team that seemed tailor-made for him, Pietrus told me that if he got away from the Warriors and onto a contender he could shoot and defend at a level that would make him a legit contributor on a team of consequence. Here he is making good on that promise. By simply being unafraid to try on James, it keeps Turkoglu, Orlando's most important offensive player, out of foul trouble.

"We believe if we don't make a trade we can win the championship. Our improvement has come from within - our young guys have played another year and are better. They are clearly better players than last year."

As for O'Bryant, the only newcomer currently with the Celtics, Rivers said, "He's just not ready yet. He's working on it, and he's making improvement. He's very young and it takes time. That's why I push him."

There's nothing unusual about a team responding to its first outing under a new coach by playing with an impressive surge of energy. Especially if their opponent happens to be the none-for-all Warriors who have little interest in playing coordinated offense and no interest whatsoever in playing defense.

I hope I'm doing this right -- there's no "preview" button, just "publish".

Just read this article about the Warriors and Comcast Sports Network having some issues and now there's a lawsuit. Maybe that contributed to their last game of the season not being televised?
