Shabust sent to D-league

Minnesota Timberwolves assigning Shabazz Muhammad to D-league

We have a new nose tackle

The Vikings have agreed to terms with nose tackle Remi Ayodele on a three-year, $9 million deal, according to an NFL source. The agreement comes on the same day the Vikings are expected to announce that they have released defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy. Nose tackle Pat Williams also is a free agent and might not return. Kennedy was expected to be his replacement at one time. Ayodele, 28, has spent three seasons with the Saints and finished last year with 21 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. He started all 16 games for the first time in his career. In 2009, he started 13 of the 15 games in which he played and had 30 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Timberwolves interview Quin Snyder for coaching job, while Kurt Rambis is left hanging

Timberwolves president of basketball operations David Kahn has yet to inform coach Kurt Rambis if he'll keep his job, but Kahn appears to be taking steps to find a replacement. Philadelphia 76ers assistant Quin Snyder has been interviewed by Kahn, an NBA coach with knowledge of the situation said Monday night. Snyder, 45, just completed his first season as an assistant to Sixers coach Doug Collins and has been a head coach at Missouri and for the Austin Toros in the NBA Development League from 2007-10. Kahn, who hired Snyder to coach the Toros, was unavailable for comment, and a Rambis representative said Monday evening that there had been no communication from Kahn or Wolves owner Glen Taylor regarding Rambis' status.
