Meyer fined $30K for his comments on officials
Is Kiffin now worried more about his wallet or his "street cred"?
Ingram leads Tebow for Heisman
I'm sure Ingram will concentrate on Tenn but it will be interesting to see how the fawning over Tebow will proceed. Glad he's getting recognition and even more glad he seems grounded and focused on helping his team make it through ATL.
Tubby on ESPNU
I've seen a few remarks about Fulmer being CBS' choice from the "I used to coach" pool but not about Tuberville's work on ESPNU. The show is Inside the Polls, and there are two segments that were particularly enjoyable. (I wish I knew how to get the clips and post them, but...)
One aired today. The segment was called The Coaches Corner and using a blackboard and the biggest hunk of white chalk I've ever seen was Tubs explaining to the host how a particular play was used successfully last Saturday: Alabama's version of the Wildcat. It was great hearing him explain the different ways Ingram can make it work.
My favorite segment aired when Auburn was still undefeated. I think the teaser before the commercials was how the undefeated Tigers were doing so well. The host sets it up and asks the other guy (something like) "So, how is Auburn doing this? What are they doing different?" The guy's first response is a big grin and is slyly thumbing over at Tuberville. An awkward moment for Tuberville as he has to smile, take some ribbing and then try to give kudos to the (temporary) success of the Tigers. If there was something good a Bama fan could have taken from Auburn's great start that was it.

Celebrate Good Tackles?
(I had this ready for last Monday after the Ole Miss game, but as is often said on RBR, real life intruded and I did not get it posted. I'm still curious as to what RBR thinks so here it is.)
Anybody notice Rolando McClain recieve a warning from the referee after he tackled Brandon Bolden for a loss? It is the 2nd and 15 play with eleven minutes and change left in the second quarter. Ro makes the hit and begins to wave his hand; as soon as the referee sees it he immediately confronts him and tells him "Don't do that...Don't do that." I guess he saw it as a taunt but made the decision to let him off with a warning.
Two things ran through my mind when I noticed this. GA vs LSU and McClain's ummm...misguided passion earlier in the year. Then the what if's start flowing and I begin imagining losing a certain game in the future due in part to one of these.
Can anyone assure me Bama will not lose a game due to one of these penalties and taking home an apology as a parting gift?
