Marcellus Wiley is an idiot...
In a video Wiley broke down each individual game for the Vikings and called it a win or a loss.
He had the Vikings sweeping the Bears. Now normally I really don't pay that much attention to preseason projected wins but with all the Favre frenzy I thought I would bring this up. Here are my reasons why the Vikings don't sweep the Bears.
1. Both games are played late in the season (week 12 and week 16) and that is around the time that Favre completely collapsed last season, I know it was because of injury, but he is going to be 40 when these games are played so I wouldn't be suprised to see his body collapse. Also remember Pat Williams is going to be 37 by the time of those two games, so he might collapse two.
2. Favre has had real problems against Lovie Smith's defense, don't believe me then just read this article.
3. The Bears split the series against Minnisota last year, and after significetly improving both sides of the ball we now lose both games. I know Minnisota added Favre, but they also lost pro-bowl center and team leader Matt Birk which I think is a big loss.
4. I definitely don't see them winning the game at Soldier Field late in the season. Despite the fact that Brett Favre used to be amazing in the cold, he know has turned into a liability at an old age. Also remeber the bones start to ache a little more in the cold weather so that will hurt Favre's abilities given that he is already old and already has a hurt soldier.
P.S. The Vikings are also sweeping the Lions according to Wiley, I would be willing to bet against this as well. Remember, the Vikings barely squeaked by the Lions last season, one win coming because of the run out of the endzone play, and I think the Lions have greatly improved. So if the Williams Wall suspension is upheld for this game then I can definitely see Detriot winning the game.
My response to Denver fans...
I really haven't been able to visit WCG as much lately, but after seeing all these posts from Broncos fans about how immature Cutler is and how he is not as good as he is hyped up to believe I thought I would bring up a few points. I hate commenting late because I feel that nobody reads posts after a certain time period, so I thought I would start a new post.
1. On the big deal Bronco's fans seem to have with Cutler drinking, Bears fans seemed to joke knowing that Orton is a notorious drinker himself. But that was somewhat refuted by Endzone; who said...
I was not aware before now that Orton had any drinking or bad party habits. All the news here in Denver is that he shows up early and leaves late and is completely focused on the Broncos
This shows Orton as a drinker with some serious party habits, my point being you can go out and have fun and still be a team oriented guy.
2. The differences in winning percentages was brought up, and Bears fans countered with the fact the Orton had a better defense. Again Endzone (sorry to somewhat pick on you dude, but I'm just trying to respectfully disagree) responded with this...
I’ll admit your D was better than ours. But not by much
Okay last season was a bad year for our defense but Orton won 10 games in 2005 when I believe our Defense was ranked #1 in the NFL, so that helps his winning percentage. Also Orton received a lot more help from his running game than Cutler did. This was brought up by Ditkavsworld, but I just wanted to rebring it up.
3. The difference in O-Line talent between the Bears and the Broncos, while I'll admit that the Bronco's have a better O-Line I would argue not by much.
LT- We brought in future Hall of Fame Orlando Pace, which will bring the natural he is only a shell of his former self debate, but I would like to point out 2 things, 1) He only gave up 2 sacks last season, and 2) for an athlete at the end of a highly successful career I think their is a big difference between playing for a championship contender and a league bottom dweller.
LG- Most likely Frank Omiyale will be starting, which brings the he is a league journeyman response, but I will point out a few things, 1) He was a league journeyman at LT, and OT is a lot harder to play than OG, ex. Leonard Davis from the Cowboys who was initially labeled a bust after failing to produce as a highly rated LT in the draft for the Cardinals, and is now a 2 time pro bowl selection at RG, and 2) Omiyale is actually considered a very good pass protecter and that is good news for Cutler.
C- Olin Kreutz will be starting, and he was at one point considered the best center in the game, and I would argue a future Hall of Famer.
RG- Roberto Garza will be the starter, and according to stats is still one of the best RG's in the NFL
RT- Most likely Chris Williams, and this brings the unproven response, but the Bronco's did pretty good with unproven Ryan Clady last year at LT an even harder position. Now Williams was highly regarded as one of the best pass protectors in the 2008 NFL draft.
I don't know about you guys but this looks like a pretty solid pass protecting O-Line for Cutler

Who said this guy wasn't mature...
In this article on the Truth and Rumors section of SI.com, Cutler's true maturity is shown:
Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has put off any talk about endorsement deals so he can concentrate on his new teammates and the playbook. There's a perfectly good reason Cutler hasn't been seen or heard doing commercial spots for car manufacturers, hotel chains or anything else. He's not interested, at least not right now.s about endorsement deals so he can concentrate on his new teammates and the playbook. He already is one of the most popular and recognizable athletes in a city with plenty of big-name players. But capitalizing on that popularity commercially isn't an immediate priority for Cutler.
This shows that he is serious about coming to Chicago to win games and make plays. I have a feeling that all of the people in the media that are doubting him have put a huge chip on his shoulder. He really hasn't gotten any respect in this league, he was overshadowed in the draft by players like Vince Young, Matt Leinart, and Reggie Bush, then when he finally proves that he is better than them on the field people start questioning his maturity. I have a feeling that Cutler is going to blow people out of the water next year, so the rest of the NFL better watch out.

Johnny Knox Has A Surprising Fan
This article from the Chicago Tribune talks about how Chance McCoy (Colt's little bro) played at ACU with Knox. In this article Chance talks about his brother's reaction to Knox's play.
"Colt compared (Knox) favorably to Jordan Shipley and Quan Cosby at Texas,'' Chance McCoy said. "He said Johnny was the same type of guy, just at a smaller school. He said there was no doubt he'd be able to play in the NFL.''
I remember a lot of you raving about Jordan Shipley in that Will We Still Need WR Help Next Year? article, so you guys should be excited at these comparisons. Except I believe that Knox has way more speed than both of them. I have a feeling that Knox will end up as the starting slot WR, and that he will make some huge plays next year. If that happens and Iglesias can have a rookie year similiar to Steve Smiths(NYG), minus the injuries, then I feel confident in our WR core.
On a side note, I can't believe Texas didn't offer Chance a scholarship, even if it is only because of his brother, or at least didn't guarantee him a walk-on spot. Then again they might have, and Chance was smarter than his brother and chose not to go. That's directed at you ChiFan.
Dream Team-NFC North Coaches
On espn.com, someone wrote Kevin Seifert what would be his dream team of coaches from the NFC North. And below are his positions:
Head coach: Lovie Smith (CHI)
Offensive coordinator: Scott Linehan (DET)
Quarterbacks: Tom Clements (GB)
Running backs: Eric Bieniemy (MIN)
Wide receivers: Jimmy Robinson (GB)
Offensive line: TBD
Defensive coordinator: Leslie Frazier (MIN)
Defensive line: Rod Marinelli (CHI)
Linebackers: Fred Pagac (MIN)
Secondary: TBD
Special teams: Dave Toub (CHI)
3 Chicago coaches made the list, but what I found most interesting was that Lovie was chosen as the head coach for the division, especially after the lack of national respect for him as a head coach in SI's rankings. I agree with Lovie's appointment, because I feel that he has accomplished more than any other coach in the division.
What do you think of these rankings are their any coaches you'd change and who would be their replacement on the list? What do you think about Lovie being named head coach? stuff like that.

No-Win Situations
John Mullin over at SI.com composed a list of players and coaches going into no-win situations in the 2009 NFL season. And, Ron Turner makes the list:
Ron Turner, Chicago Bears offensive coordinator
The Bears sent two No. 1's, a No. 3 and Kyle Orton to the Denver Broncos in April. What they got in return was Jay Cutler and a civic case of Mile High that stopped just short of queuing up for Super Bowl tickets, playoff ducats being a foregone conclusion.
After all, the NFL's charter franchise already had a franchise running back in Matt Forte (NFL's No. 3 in total yards) via the 2008 draft and now a franchise quarterback was de-planing at O'Hare. Never mind the questions inherent in no current Bears wide receiver having more than 74 career catches; the answer to all questions is Cutler, so if the Bears win, it's because of Cutler.
"I don't need the credit," Turner said. "Let Jay and the players have it. That's fine with me."
A complicating factor for Turner, and others like Caldwell, is that significant NFL forces are always at play that are beyond the control of the no-win'ers. Turner's 1994 Chicago offense ranked 23rd but the Bears reached the playoffs. The Bears even won a road wild-card game as Turner guided an offense with afterthought Steve Walsh when the marquee QB signing, Erik Kramer, flopped. The following year the Bears again went 9-7, with Turner's offense setting franchise records behind Kramer. But they missed the playoffs when the pass defense collapsed from fifth to 27th during a stretch of eight of nine games allowing no fewer than 24 points.
When Rex Grossman went down in the 2005 preseason, Turner's steady hand kept the offense controlled under Orton in an 11-5 playoff season. The next year the Bears went to the Super Bowl with Grossman. Two years later both Orton and Grossman are gone, the defense ranked 21st in yardage and 16th in points allowed.
Coach Lovie Smith is taking over as the de facto defensive coordinator. But if the Bears miss the postseason for a third straight year, all eyes will turn to Turner.
"That's just the nature of the business," Turner said. "All you can do is focus on what you can control and not worry when they say good things or bad things."
I kind of agree with the opinion that Turner won't get any credit if the offense improves, Jay Cutler will receive it as stated above. Which in someway is deserved.
But my question to you is, if(when) the offense improves will you give all the credit to Cutler for being a beast or will you only give most of the credit to Cutler while leaving some for Turner because he was able to succesfully use the weapons given to him?
NFL.com Power Rankings
I was perusing NFL.com, and noticed Kirwan's rankings for the NFL next season. The Bears come in at...
13. Jay Cutler changes everything for the Bears. He's a playmaker with a cannon arm who can win a game with a fourth-quarter drive. The offensive line is better, but are the receivers good enough to take advantage of Cutler's skills? The defense will be better with Rod Marinelli reuniting with his friend Lovie Smith on the Bears' coaching staff.
First off I find it funny that the Bears are 4th in Peter King's rankings but fall all the way to 13 in these rankings.
Next off, why is everyone complaining about our WRs this offseason? They have everyone back from last season except Marty Booker, not much off a loss in my opinion, and only added more talent in Knox and Iglesias. The Bears went 9-7 last year, with Orton and this WR core, they add Cutler and an improved O-Line, and our new predicted record by Kirwan is still 9-7, come on. My point is, Orton had a good season last year with these same WRs, so good that people were even talking about Orton being in the Pro Bowl before his injury, and since Cutler is a better QB you would have to assume that the WRs get better with him.
What are your thoughts?
Debate Time "QBs vs. WRs"
So I was browsing ESPN.com and came across this question on the NFC North Blog.
If you had to pick, would you prefer a great quarterback with average receivers or vice versa? After all, that pretty much describes the situations in Chicago and Minnesota, respectively. What's the preferable arrangement?
In response to the question as related to the Bears and Viqueens, I take Cutler all day and the reason don't believe that the Minnesota receiving core is that dominant. They have Berrian who is a solid #2 receiver and Wade who is a very weak #2, possibly even a #3. Then when you throw TEs into the mix, all I have to say is I take Greg Olsen and Desmond Clark over Shiancoe any day. So my point is that Minnisota doesn't have a good enough receiving core to make this a debate.
Now in response to the question throughout the NFL, I still take the QB and the reason is found in Seiferts reponse
A really good group of receivers can bail out an average quarterback at times, but not to the extent that an elite quarterback can lift an average group of receivers. I'll take Tom Brady with Troy Brown and David Patten over Ryan Fitzpatrick with Chad Ocho Cinco and T.J. Houshmandzadeh any day.
and who wouldn't?
What are your thoughts?
Will Ta'ufo'ou
When people started talking about how good this guy was I didn't believe him. But, after hearing it from multiple sources and having nothing better to do, I decided to YouTube him. Suprised I even got any hits being that he was a FB, I noticed how light on his feet he was and how he was juking people out. Not only was he an effective run-blocker and receiver, he also layed some monstor blocks on people, he was putting people on their backs. After seeing this I'm going to be really depresed if the Bears keep McKie over this guy, not only is he good but he has a way better FB name which is probably the most important thing. Plus, according to his teammates he seems to be a real hard worker and a team leader.(See Video 3)
Highlights:

Derek Kinder
While being a seventh round pick, I think that he can contribute immediatly. He was an all Big East selection in 2007 before tearing his ACL in 2008. Plus he had Tyler Palko as his QB, I really don't think of him as a stud. Plus, coming from Pitt, he basically already knows the offense and could be the next Marquis Colston.
Here are some highlights (all are relatively short):
Boldin Trade Offer Rejected
This article says that Jerry Angelo offered his second-round draft pick to the Cardinals to pick up Boldin from the Cardinals. While this didn't work out, I'm glad that Angelo at least made the call and tried to bring in Boldin, this shows that he is really concentrating on winning now. While I think he probably could have tried to sweeten the pot by adding a veteran player, at least there was some effort. What do you guys think of this move?
Late Round Receiver Help
Hey, I'm in Texas and in the paper one day I saw this guy on the WR sleepers list. His name is Johnny Knox and he played at Abiline Christian University, a D2 school in Texas I believed they won their divisions NC.
Height: 6-0 Weight:185
40 time: High 4.4 Low: 4.22
He is super fast, has good hands, and is actually taller than Eddie Royal and is a similar WR. He is projected to be in like the 4th or 5th round, I believe.
Since most of you have probably never heard of him, I will show you some vids.
New Idea for 2nd Round Pick
Michael Johnson, DE, Georgia Tech
For some reason I can't paste the paragraph in here. But it details the risers and fallers of the draft and on the fallers list there is Michael Johnson, because his inconsistent motor and weak production. Regarded as a potential top 5 pick after his junior season he came back for his senior year and his stock plumeted. He is 6-7 266, but the thing that intrigues me is his crazy athleticism. In the past I would have been scared of drafting a guy like this, however the hiring of Marinelli, a guy spoken of as one of the greatest D-Line coaches in the NFL and a great motivator. I really think he can turn Johnson into a Simeon Rice type player and that would be awesome.
You guys had so much fun bashing LSU, I thought I would join in.
Bears QB Drills Video
I saw this on chicagobears.com, it shows Cutler, Hanie, and Basenez doing passing drills. I only made this post as to express my belief that the diva, drama king label that the media (ESPN) gives Cutler is absurd. In the video Cutler and the QBs are joking around and competing. If Cutler was truly full-off himself he probably wouldn't even by talking to his backups, who I believe both went undrafted.

NFL.com Safety Position Rankings...
A lot of people seem yo like the idea of us drafting a safety in the 2nd round. So I decided to link an article from NFL.com that breaks down some of the top safety prospects. No, Sean Smith is not included but neither is Malcolm Jenkins, since they are both officially CBs. The guy I like the most is Louis Delmas, I think the Bears should pick him even if Robiskie is on the board.
Repent
While looking at the WRs in the 2009 draft post, I saw a related fanpost that caught my attention.
Everyone who was negative in this post needs to repent and apologize to Matt Forte, or should I say the Tulane Terror, for not speaking well of him.
Now laugh at everyone who suggested we take Jamaal Charles, Brian Brohm, or Chad Henne. With one of those QBs we probably wouldn't have Jay Cutler right now, but we would probably be able to pick Stafford because we would be in the top 5 picks in the draft.

NFL.com Draft Room: Bears and Vikings
The link below has a video in which both Brian Billick and Mike Mayock discuss what the Bears and Vikings will do in the draft.
It has the Bears drafting Malcolm Jenkins CB/FS OSU at 18, personally I love this pick if he is still available, I'm not so sure that he will be, he is physical, a ball-hawk, and is consistant in coverage. The only nock against him is his speed which I don't think is as big as a deal at the Safety position.
It has the Vikings drafting Percy Harvin, if you are interested.
What are your thoughts?
NFL.com "Bears on the Clock"
I just say a video on NFL.com where they talked to Dan Pompei about what the Bears would do at 18 and his thoughts about their offseason. Thought you guys would be interested. I won't tell you who he picks to keep things interesting.
Personally, I like the pick. What do you guys think?
need more words, need more words, need more words, need more words, need more words, need more words.
Grossman Getting No Love
This comes from an SI article in which former Bronceos WR Shannon Sharpe discusses the Cutler-McDaniels situation. During which he says he believes that Chris Simms will be the starter for Denver next year. However, where it gets funny is when Sharpe is talking about McDaniels.
Sharpe says McDaniels believes he can plug any quarterback into his team and throw for 4,000 yards. "His mindset is, 'I can take Rex Grossman.'" Sharpe said. Sharpe said good luck with that.
I thought you guys would find this amusing, plus it gives you more time to talk about ways to trade for Cutler.
Mock Draft Help
Hey guys,
I am in charge of the Texans draft for the SB Nation Bears sight, windycitygridiron.com, and I was looking for some help. I see you guys want Clay Mathews Jr. through your polls. However, I can't see why, I feel that he would be a monster reach at 15. I trust your guys judgement on who you think your team needs, so if anyone of you guys could give me a solid reason why you guys should pick him, it would be of great help, because I have to provide one when I submit my pick.
Here's who I was thinking for you guys:
Vontae Davis CB Illinois: He is an incredible athlete, who has able to shut down even the best WRs in the Big 10. He reached the point where defenses stopped throwing anywhere near him, cutting off half the field for opposing offenses. He is also an effective blitzer from the corner position. He would be a good fit across from Dunta, allowing you to possibly shut down Indy's WRs.
Chris "Beanie" Wells RB Ohio State: Good size, and a downhill runner who shows good burst through the hole. Has surprising acceleration that allows him to get to the second level, also contains a brutal stiff-arm in the open field. He is also a good in pass protection. Paired with Steve Slaton, he would give you guys possibly the most explosive offensive in the NFL.
Disclaimer: I will most likely pick Malcolm Jenkins if he is still on the board.
So what do you guys think?
Draft Sleepers
Since it is apparent that the Bears don't plan to do anything in Free Agency and with multiple holes to fill, our only hope as Bears fans is an amazing draft. This will require help from late round picks. So, it is up to you guys to throw out the names of a couple of late round players that have a chance to make an instant impact. If you know of a possible Marques Colston or Tom Brady, please speak up. LOL!! So use the skill you have generated from multiple fantasy football drafts, DeAngelo Williams in the 8th round thank you, to help you on the real draft.
So just post the Name, School, and Posistion (possibly a short reason as to why you think he will be a beast) of anyone you think has the possibility to become a sleeper.
I will start...
Lawrence Sidbury Jr. DE Richmond
He is an athletic DE who is able to stop the run and generate pressure, 4 sacks in the FCS National Chamionship game. He has long arms, and is effective at getting of blocks. He should benefit from being coached by the best FA aquisition of the offseason Rod Marinelli. A 4th-5th round prospect.

Sean Smith Video
A lot of people around here seem to like Sean Smith from Utah, for the Bears Free Safety position. Therefore, I thought I would get all of you excited about this guys potential cover abilities. I usually don't like trusting Highlight Videos, but this is impressive. And according to ChiFan he is a sure tackler. So if he can make plays like this, I think he could become a great FS.
I'm not sure that I like someone saying that he should be a receiver, because Lovie might actually turn him into one.
Trade Possibilities
The Chiefs announced their new coaching staff this week. What they didn’t announce is that they’re planning to switch to a 3-4 defense.
News out of Kansas City is saying that they are going to switch to a 3-4 defense. However, their first round pick from last year, Glenn Dorsey, doesn't seem to fit in this system. He was a stout run defender at LSU, who would fit in nicely next to Tommie Harris. This move would solidify our D-Line at our one hole there. I know DT isn't our biggest need, but it might provide the most impact.
I would be willing to trade our 1st round pick and maybe Vasher or Hillenmeyer if needed. What do you guys think about this move? He mould be way more talented than anyone else we could get at 18.

Safeties and Smith
Everyone around here seems to agree that the Bears need help at the safety position. Since their isn't anyone attractive in Free Agency, they would have to look at the draft here are some of the top prospects:
6. Patrick Chung, Oregon, S: A versatile, hard-hitting safety with outstanding skills, Chung moves well in space and shows impressive skills as a pass defender. He has the range to get over the top on deep throws, but is also instinctive enough to make plays on intermediate throws within his area. Chung doesn't consistently make plays on the ball, but his penchant for delivering big hits on receivers serves him well as the Ducks' enforcer in the middle of the field. Additionally, Chung is a standout run defender who aggressively meets ball carriers in the hole. He strikes runners squarely and rarely misses tackles in space. Chung is a highly coveted prospect who is capable of stepping in at either safety spot during his first year.
7. Louis Delmas, Western Michigan, S: An aggressive safety with outstanding instincts and awareness, Delmas roams the middle of the field with confidence and is a violent force against the run. Though he has a well earned reputation for delivering big hits on runners, Delmas is an outstanding tackler who rarely misses in space. As a pass defender, Delmas is a rangy player with the instincts and athleticism to get over the top on deep throws. His outstanding speed erases his early missteps in coverage and allows him to make an impact as a deep middle player. With an exceptional combination of athleticism, speed and movement skills, Delmas has the potential to be a dynamic free safety as a pro.
9. William Moore, Missouri, S: Moore is a once-highly regarded safety prospect who suffered through a disappointing senior season due to an assortment of injuries. As a classic strong safety with exceptional size and instincts, Moore is at his best when playing near the line of scrimmage. He quickly diagnoses running plays, and is an aggressive hitter in the hole. His ability to stop runners in their tracks is impressive and adds to his intimidating presence. As a pass defender, Moore isn't fluid in all of his movements, but has the savvy and instincts to get into proper position when the ball is thrown. He has 11 career interceptions, including eight as a junior, and shows an uncanny knack for producing game-changing turnovers in the back end. Though scouts are downgrading Moore for his sub-par performance during his senior season, he was simply too good as an underclassman to be ignored as a potential impact pro prospect.
I personally like Chung, and have them ranked in this order in my head. What are your opinions?
Andre Smith
Most of you have probably heard about his combine fiasco. Most people think this will cause he stock to plummet, because of his supposed lack of maturity. Do any of you think he will be available at 18. If so, I think he would be a great RT prospect with his run-blocking skills. What do you guys think? Would you still taking knowing these issues.
Detroit Lions Pick
Don Banks from Sports Illustrated is saying that despite the common belief that the Lions will draft Stafford number 1, he sees them going in a different direction
The Lions are going to select one of the draft's several highly rated offensive tackles with the first pick, and that's that.
This is bad news for the Bears, and the chances of Oher being available at 18. A lot of the teams who need tackles already have their QB situation figured out.
Rams- Bulger (would be fine for a couple more seasons)
Cincinnati- Palmer
Jacksonville- Garrard
Washington- Jason Campbell
The Bears only hope is that Orakpo is available for Washington to pick and they go with him, or the Rams decide to go in a new direction with a new coach and pick Stafford.
Article: Combine Snap Judgments: Lions eye tackles, not QBs, with first pick
Later Round Defensive Help
Everyone around here seems to agree that the Bears need help rushing the passer. But there are more pressing needs on offense, so this will have to be solved in the latter rounds.
Lawrence Sidbury Jr. (Richmond)
He is a speed-rusher, who generated 4 sacks in the FCS National Championship Game. While this is against lesser competition, he has excelled against better competition. During the East-West shrine game I saw him dominate opposing tackles and get pressure, and he supposedly had a great Senior Bowl (I don't have the NFL Network). Plus, he should do well under the tutelage of Marinelli, so I think he could be a real asset.
I really can't find stats, because I guess they don't keep those in the FCS. I got one game against Virginia.

Here are some highlights, because most of you probably haven't seen him:
What are your thoughts?
Bad News
The following is a link to NFL.com, it says that the Panthers are expected to sign Jordan Gross to a new deal this week, that will give him about $9 million per year.
I guess this takes him of the wish list for the Bears, and means the Bears will have to pick some new lineman, Khalif Barnes or Vernon Carey(thought to be a better guard than tackle), and do everything to sign him, before they are gone. Otherwise the O-Line will be 10x worse than last years, and that is a scary thought.
Mike Mayock's Top Five By Position
NFLN's Mike Mayock's top five at each position.
With 46 underclassmen having been granted special eligibility, here's a breakdown of the top five college football players at each position heading into the 2009 NFL Draft:
Quarterbacks:
Matthew Stafford, Georgia
Mark Sanchez, USC
Josh Freeman, Kansas St.
Nate Davis, Ball St
Rhett Bomar, Sam Houston St.
Offensive Tackles:
Jason Smith, Baylor
Eugene Monroe, Virginia
Andre Smith, Alabama
Micheal Oher, Mississippi
Eden Britton, Arizona
John Beck
Thank you to Rahulsriram for coming up with this idea. Beck played as a rookie on the Dolphins in there 1-15 year, giving him valuable experience under Cam Cameron (developer of Joe Flacco) and then was able to sit behind Chad Pennington to learn from a veteran quarterback, look how much Orton improved after some time with Griese. He has a big arm and is mobile, which makes him a great prospect and gives him two things Orton lacks.
However, there is one thing you might be forgetting about Beck he played at BYU, remember what happened the last time the Bears played a Mormon quarterback from BYU. I think you do.

Look guys he even wears the #9 (at least as a pro), and look at the similar throwing motions and the gloves, it has to be a sign that the Mormon Gods support the Chicago Bears. He should come cheap because of the emergence of Chad Pennington and the fact that the new administration drafted Chad Henne so they probably want Henne to be the future franchise quarterback. So possibly a third round pick or Nathan Vasher and Hunter Hillenmayer. Despite the sarcasm, I think he really might be good so it would be worth a shot plus he would be better than any FA quarterback, who could sit behind Orton this year and take his job the next season.
Highlights:
Believe in Beck: Book of John 2
Something that we, as Bear fans, could be doing in a few years with a new BYU QB:
What are your opinions?
Derrick Ward or Brandon Jacobs
Everyone around here seems to believe that we need another RB to compliment Forte. Since both of these guys or Free Agents this offseason it seems unlikely that the Giants will be able to keep them both. Both are power runners, however Jacobs seems to have a little more power while Ward seems to have more speed. Since the Giants will most likely be only signing one of them, the Bears in my opinion should make a move for one of them. Since they made there Super Bowl run without Ward and seemed to struggle running the ball with Jacobs out injured, I think the Giants will most likely try to keep Jacobs. Leaving Ward who could give the Bears a great backup and help them have a beastly tandom and lesson Forte's wear and would provide another home run hitter at RB, see Carolina game, instead of just a another LenDale White type guy.
What are your opinions about the Bears trying to sign either one of these guys?
