Avs Bag Skated Again
Is this the only tactic Sacco knows? It hasn't worked yet, and probably won't this time either
Sad News, Alexander Galimov Dies in Hospital
"'On September 12, in the morning, despite continuing therapy using all possible contemporary treatment, Alexander Galimov died from severe burns in the burn centre of the Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery,' read the statement, which was posted on the Russian Hockey Federation website."
Mini-Hockey, Just For Fun
Was going through my computer this morning, and found a video of my older son at his hockey class. This is (outside of my ridiculous commentary, and my other son doing a lot of screaming) the best one of the bunch. My kid is obviously in the Avs jersey. (About 3 minutes long)

Former Avs Drury and Wolski to be buyout victims
How the mighty have fallen...or broke...or floated
Once again proving the toughest athletes play in the NHL
This is just the Sharks post playoff injury list. Yowza!
Dater on the Avs "Out of Excuses"
Say what you will about Dater, and I'm not his biggest fan. But he pretty much nails it here
Wolski Seems to Enjoy the Bench
Wolski in Colorado = Semi-Hero to healthy scratch
Wolski in Phoenix = Semi-Hero to healthy scratch
Wolski in New York = Semi-Godsend, now a healthy scratch
No Visa, No Elliott...Again
Per the Denver Post:
"Coach Joe Sacco said goalie Brian Elliott, who was obtained last week from the Ottawa Senators for goalie Craig Anderson, won't join the team until Wednesday at the earliest. Elliott, a Canadian citizen, is working on obtaining his U.S. work visa. If Elliott doesn't play Wednesday against visiting Edmonton, he could make his team debut Saturday at Los Angeles or Sunday at Anaheim. . . . Peter Budaj will start in goal. . ."
Game off tonight? It's possible...

This would probably be it. Maybe he can check this out before tonight's game for some inspiration. ICE GIRLS!
Locker Room Audio From Avs/Hawks
Not much to say really. I didn't head into the Blackhawks locker-room, but I did get the Joel Quenneville interview after the game (he was not a happy camper, and it was pretty boring otherwise so it wasn't included.
Since i need to get to bed here is the rough and raw audio that I took
Speaker 1: Craig Anderson
Speaker 2: Matt Duchene
Speaker 3: Flash
Couple of notes. Pierre Lacroix was at the game, he was downstairs as the team was heading to the bus, yucking it up with Kono, Duchene and Sacco
Flash originally wasn't going to be interviewed after the game, but Duchene "prodded" him a bit, and there were some of his fellow countrymen there, so he decided to do it after all.
Mauldin doesn't look big on TV, but he's an ox. Big dude, nice as can be
The audio is on YouTube...here is the link
Andy starts in Carolina, Foote in, Wilson likely scratch
I guess the title speaks for itself
Andy's Journey (Sort Of)
Pretty good (albeit Blackhawk tilted) blog about the Hawks goalie tandem this year, and Anderson, and Michael Leighton's journeys through an NHL system.
Also a funny story about Andy and his wannabe last name (at the very end of the article)
So much for Mueller and "Soonish"
Not good news on Mueller. No skating, seeking another opinion on why he can't get past his post-concussion symptoms.
Bet Back Off, Hensick Back to Peoria
Pretty much speaks for itself
Injury Update: Stewie, WInnik, Andy, Gali, Foote, VDG
Better injury update report on everyone except Mueller
Brett Clark Shoots So Hard, No Net Can Contain Him
Funny stuff from the former Avs defensemen
Grahame Back to Lake Erie
According to the AHL's transaction log. Sounds like Andy is ready to go, probably backing up Boods for right now

Osgood injured his groin, was it Howard's fault?
Quick Recap of Avs, Jackets
I know someone with more "authority " is probably working on a recap, but he is my super fast version of the events from last night.
Boods = Good. I thought he was going to have a bit of trouble in the early going, he was leaving some FAT rebounds, but the Jackets were missing the net. Then about midway through the first he calmed down and had a terrific game (I think everyone on the Avs should let their hard grow out, it seems to be helping Liles and Boods)
Offense = 5 different goal scorers, beautiful. And scored in several different ways. What can you say about Stewart at this point, he figured something out, and is now a beat (and I still love that he stands up for his teammates). Liffiton, what a blast for his first goal. Jones, McCleod (BIG assist to Winnik). And Stastny is of course MAJUR SUXXORZZZZ with a 2 point night.
Defense wasn't bad at all, though the Kyles tried their best turnover on every shift impression early on. I wish Kyle Quincey would shoot more. Just watching him, it looks like he has a case of "floatitis." But a good job of tightening up after a rough start (10 shots right away)
A good win against a team that came in hot. The Avs just look like a more confident bunch than last year
Grahame Called Up
To go with Sandee's news (or Haynes' news) that Andy doesn't need surgery. Avs call up Grahame (for some ungodly reason)
With the Andy injury, I just couldn't resist the spoof. My photoshop skills need...well I need skills to have skills.
Want to Cream Your Pants, 1996 Style?
I get the Meigray Gameworn Jersey newslette, since I bought a Cody Mac jersey two years ago. This was sent to me today. If you have money to own a piece of history, BLOW IT ON ONE OF THESE (then at least thank me for sharing the link, since I don't have money to buy any of these)
I don't particularly like James Wisniewski, but this made me chuckle...especially since it's Sean Avery
Lappy Done?
Sounds like done for the season...and possibly for good. Sucky
