Name is Shannon (guy) and I'm 30 years old and from the South Side of Chicago. I've been a sports fan since the age of 9.
What got me into sports were two of my classmates back in the 4th grade. Luis and Jacques. I remember them being able to name all the football teams in the NFL. So, in 1990 I started watching. First the Bears (since their season starts 1st) then Bulls...and then the Sox and Cubs. I kind of knew a little about baseball...okay well I didn't.
See, I was born in Stateway Gardens. If you do not know what those are then look it up. I lived roughly 4 blocks away from Comiskey Park from birth until I was 7 (1981-1988). I remember every time I heard the fireworks (some were gun shots) I'd run to the window to look at them.
The 1990-1991 season would the first season the Bulls won the championship. It was pretty amazing for me, because it was my first year watching them on a regular and I got to see my team win it all!
