14 points in perspective
Sounders sit with 14 points just 11 games into the season. A season that somewhat feels as if we are underperforming, and i would have to agree. Looking back at 2010 season, we only had 12 points through 11 games...here are a couple stats that help calm the nerves:
- 1.27 ppg (just shy of the desired 1.5, so wins in our next 2 home games gets us to 1.53)
- only 3 losses to date: LA, NY and DC, only gave up 4 goals in those 3 loses
- lineup is downright jacked right now: 5 players out of our lineup: Zak, OBW, Morales, Friberg and Evans
- 13 home games remaining!!!!
PGE Park - Timbers' Scoreboard
was checking out the renderings for Portland's stadium, which may I say is pretty spiffy....however, they made one big error in the renderings....their scoreboard has a 4-0 victory over the Sounders...
can't wait for the road trip to Ptown this year!
Electricity Yellow? does Sigi dare to wear the 3rd kit for the playoff game? had a pretty good run in that color earlier this year....
surprised by ticket price increase
Am I crazy? I remember the front office promising ticket prices remain the same the first three years...
I received my renewal notice....guess what???
22% increase. what was a $20/ticket is now $24.50.....
anyone else get a 22% increase? was it the same increase across the stadium? was it section specific?
why? why? why?
when most of us scratch to have money available for games, why would they do this?
I imagine this will result in less tickets sold to USOC and CCL next year....
Philly....
Columbia vs USMNT at PPL park in Philly....same night as our Friendly C....
not sure how the FO missed out on this opportunity.....how could they schedule a friendly vs Chvias de Guadalajara and not this game?!?
they must have an Ace up their sleeve....maybe when we qualify for the USOC final they will cancel the match up against chivas...just a thought
and hope they don't call up Montero....
Honestly... Not only to 30,000+ of you show up at home games, you get more comments on your GameThread before kickoff than I had the entire match. I’ve got some community building to do.

How can RSL play in their 3rd kit consisting of yellow...yes the Sounders can't reflect electricity in league play?
I didn't think anything could make me smile more than last night's victory...until I watched this video clip of FL shanking a shot.....
Champions League - busy july for Sounders
schdedule announced:
Seattle vs Metapan in Seattle on Wed July 28th at 7pm
Metapan vs Seattle in El Salvador on Tue Aug 3rd at 7pm
that means, 5 games in two weeks:
Sunday July 25th: Home vs Colorado
Wednesday July 28th: Home vs Metapan
Saturday July 31: Road at San Jose
Tuesday Aug 3: Road at Metapan
Sunday Aug 8: Home vs Houston
travel shouldn't be too much of an issue. i woudl assume they woudl travel from San Jose to El Salvador....but you never know
attacking the north end at Qwest proves worthy.
Why is it that the Sounders score most of their goals in the 1st half at home on the north end? here are the numbers: 7 goals scored in league play at home. 6 scored on the north end, 1 on the south end.
Home games in which we have scored:
Philadelphia 2 goals scored: both north end
KC: 1 goal scored: south end
Columbus: 1 goal scored: north end
NE: 3 goals scored: all north end
it's also interesting that we attack the north end in the first half, meaning we have only scored 1 2nd half goal at home thus far....
wonder what the locker room talks are like at halftime?

the gamethread......outside of Seattle is dead
for whatever reason, I found myself looking at DCs blog: Black and Red United. I took a look at their Gamethread from saturday's loss to colorado. 7 comments. Really? only 7 comments.
SounderatHeart's gamethread from Saturday's win at NY: 524 comments. granted the Sounders were on the road so most people were near a computer. but even the LA game had nearly 100 comments. Columbus had 134....
maybe it was just the colorado game that DC fans weren't interested in......oh wait, the gamethread before against Dallas had a whopping 4 remarks.
pretty weak! especially for being the self acclaimed "most storied" team in MLS. June 10th can't come quick enough. Sure to get a free haircut after that match!
The MLS needs to find a way to get fans more involved. NY's blog Once a Metro doesn't even present a gamethread....
every team should sponsor a blog at SBNation.....and a gamethread
where are the giveaways?!?
Dear Front Office,
We have played 4 home matches...Philly, NY, KC and Columbus
yet, we haven't received any free giveaways walking into Quest. last year we were handed car flags, towels, stickers, water bottles, even a Kasey Keller bobblehead.....
what's the deal?
i would love more freebies. as long as you never give out thundersticks and horns.
Some suggestions: posters, keychains, shirts, towels, balls....
how about pins? they had them last year for sale, but i can't imagine them costing too much.
Thanks!
