The Crawfish Boxes Why I Wish Drayton Would Sell the Team

Hey guys. Stro's fan in Philly here. Houston born and raised, Philly for school. Haven't gotten shanked at Citizens Bank in my Stro's jersey...yet. And of course I don't get to listen to Houston sports talk up here, but why is it being reported that we are no longer shopping Oswalt? Now I love Roy, but this team is not winning currently as is, and needs to be rebuilt (I'm actually in favor of shopping Lee and Lance as well to rebuild our farm system). I would much rather trade our assets now to ensure winning records 5 years from now rather than staying in mediocrity. Which is why I think Drayton needs to sell the team. In Drayton's mind, the Astros are never out of contention and are only one big trade/signing from a pennant. He doesn't believe in the word rebuild. Does anyone else agree with me or is Drayton doing the right thing by holding onto Roy hoping the NL Central plays down to our current level?

Battle Red Blog Peter King, You're a Moron

The only relevance I have regarding Peter King is when KSK absolutely destroys him on a daily basis. However, I was curious to see what Mr. King thought of our Texans once again bucking the common mock drafts and taking their guy. This is what he said.

"13. HOUSTON -- I think I would have taken Kyle Wilson if I were Houston at 20. There's going to be tons of pressure on Kareem Jackson, the Alabama corner, to play early as a Dunta Robinson replacement. I'd rather have the corner most in the draft believe was more pro-ready in Wilson."

Ok, the man is free to have his opinions about who he thinks is the better corner (even though every review I've read has said that even though Wilson was ranked higher, Jackson is the more pro-ready of the two [three if you include McCourtney]), but then to add this while discussing the Jets snagging up Wilson:

"22. NEW YORK JETS -- I think a few teams in the league had character concerns about Boise cornerback Kyle Wilson, but he was a no-brainer for the New York Jets at 29."

Whoa whoa whoa: Character concerns? You're ranking Wilson over Jackson in one discussion, then bringing up "character concerns" in another? With everything going on in the league nowadays (Plaxico, Big Ben, Pacman), I think the smartest thing to do is to stay away from players with character concerns (do you see ANY on the Texans? Another reason not to trade for Haynesworth.).

And then this tidbit: "I know of at least two teams in the top half of the draft who had Wilson rated ahead of Joe Haden, who went seventh."

"AT LEAST TWO TEAMS OUT OF 16  (read: two) HAD THIS MAN RANKED ABOVE HADEN!! HOW DO YOU SPIT IN THE FACE OF 14% OF THE LEAGUE??"

In conclusion, go drink another soy-mocha-peppermint-pumpkin-spice-grande-latte Mr. King, and let Smithiak worry about the draft.
