Gary "if you fumble for me once your ass is grass" Kubiak said Monday of Texans rookie back Arian Foster, "we're about to turn it up big time for him." Does this mean that Moats will be taking a back seat for the last three games of the year so the coaching staff can see what the Tennessee rookie can do? Anyone have any idea how many touches Foster is looking at for this Sunday?

Hey guys, Battle Red Blogger here. I just wanted to stop by and ask if there's been any information regarding Steven Jackson's back? I saw he was pretty contained by the Tennessee defense (but I'm sure that had more to do with Null than his injury) and was pulled later in the game. I know he hasn't practiced in 3 weeks but he's been soldiering out there week in and week out like a stud. Any news regarding his injury or any insight regarding what he'll probably be able to do against the Houston run defense?

RIP Houston Texans' playoff aspirations: 9/13/09 - 11/29/09. The Texans playoffs hopes were unofficially killed Sunday, by a lack of defense, coaching and more specifically Kris Brown missing key field goals in the previous weeks. The team is survived by the ever-familiar "always next year" mantra. There will be no ceremony held.

Those who knew the deceased are encouraged to post fond memories they have of the recently passed. Please make a donation to your neighborhood high school team in lue of sending flowers.

The Bills, currently without a head coach to call their own, made a Hail Mary shoutout to Cowher to see if he might be interested. With the changes to the salary keep looming and the Bills being located in Buffalo, NY, Bill let his suitor down gently.

Cowher informed the team that he is not interested in speaking to any clubs about potential jobs until after the season, however, according to the sources, and he could have several options available to him should he opt to return to coaching in 2010.

Upstate New York copy editors everywhere shed a tear at the lost potential of having a Bill coach the Bills.

That would be that except that Cowher is apparently now telling folks that if that offer would come from the Bears or Texans, he would be much more interested.

An NFL Network report Monday night cited a source that said the idea of coaching the Bears or Texans "would excite,'' Cowher if the job becomes open.

That'll simply make the anti-Lovie contingent among Bears fans even more antsy. But the same report said Cowher would command in the range of $10 million per-season - a staggering price even for a head coach with a Super Bowl ring.

When Jim Mora Jr. floated the idea of coaching the Washington Huskies while employed by the Falcons a few years back, he was vilified. Now Cowher isn't working for another squad, but to publicly throw his name out there for two jobs that currently have head coaches, well that just seems like some sort of breach of Head Coach Fraternity Code. It will be interesting to se if Cowher gets a pass on this, especially in Chicago where many might be more than happy to push Lovie Smith out the door for The Chin."

Now I am a big fan of Kubiak, he's the reason we're actually caring about games after the bye, but could we really pass up on a Super Bowl Champion coach like Cowher? There's no contest Houston would be a much more attractive place to coach than Chicago.

If there is any accountability in the world this guy needs to be out of a fucking job. You're telling me there's NO one who can make a goddamned kick on the waiver wire? The fucking Ravens just picked up Billy fucking Cundiff and he hit 5 field goals. This guy has cost us the chance to win our last two games, and when we're 8-8 again at the end of the season we'll need only to look back on this guy who got the yips.

Who is this CBS announcer that has VY's sack down his throat? I mean jesus dude, are you a booster for UT? Did you bet on the game? I'm watching NFL Red Zone and am already sick of these announcers. He sounds like the guy who calls the Texans' game but I don't know who it is (in Philly and have to watch these crappy teams up here).

Perfect Goal Line Back for Us

Ok, please please please do not ban me for proposing this, but after last game it is sorely apparent we need a full-time goal line back (as if it wasn't after the Jacksonville game) who can bruise defenders, push the pile and get us that one yard when we desperately need it, and I think I know who.....Lendale White.

I know he's a BE-SF, but the man is big, he's made a career out of poaching goal line touchdowns (see: Chris Johnson and Reggie Bush) and he's a free agent next year so the 0-5 Titans will be looking to move him. Maybe give up a 5th rounder to get him. Any thoughts? Anyone got Rick Smith's email address?
