The Phinsider Pride of Detroit Mock

Once again I was sattled with the pick for the Phins, last year I picked Pouncey and got the pick correct much to the shagrin of my fellow posters. This year I went with select South Carolina defensive end/linebacker Melvin Ingram because Justin Blackmon and DeCastro were gone and Ryan Tannehill was not considered because of Matt Moore and David Garrard and because you can get a developmental QB later in the draft.

My main concern as was last year is OLine, we all know Backus and Dom are not lasting much longer and NEED

The Phinsider Mock Draft

I have the pleasure of picking for Miami for the mock over at the Pride of Detroit. So I am putting a pole here to see who you all want. I am interested in seeing what you the fans think and will base my choice accordingly. Knowing you have no picks in the second round makes this pick very important as you have many holes to fill. So, with that said who do you want or think the Phins will take. thank you.

Pride Of Detroit Looking at the linebackers

Schwartz said. "Part of our criteria for linebackers is that we like multidimensional players and that means the ability to play inside and outside and play pass and run". so with that said I thought I would put together my draft board top 20 of linebackers who I think fit the Lions profile.

Pride Of Detroit tender up date

Detroit is expected to tender contract offers to CB Chris Houston, K Dave Rayner, QB Drew Stanton, LB Bobby Carpenter and OT Corey Hilliard. It’s unlikely many of those offers will be signed before a new labor deal is reached since players expect the league’s unrestricted free agent threshold to be lowered.

Mar. 2, 2011 9:01 a.m. - S John Wendling will receive a contract tender offer at the original-round level, The Detroit Free Press reports. Wendling was a sixth-round pick of the Bills in 2007, making his one-year contract offer worth roughly $1.275 Million.

Mar. 1, 2011 9:06 p.m. - DE Cliff Avril won’t immediately sign Detroit’s tender offer, the Detroit Free Press reports. Tender offers carry single-year contracts. Avril wants a multi-year deal. “I’m definitely excited that I can be in Detroit at least one more year,” Avril told the Free Press. “I kind of want something long-term, but we’ll work toward that still.” Lions
