listen to The Mars Volta? Damn, what an awesome band! I just got into them about a month or two ago, and I'm uber-glad my cousin introduced me to their major 2003 debut album, De-loused in the Comatorium. Of course, this ultimately drove me to research their "spititual prequel" of a band, if you will, At-the-Drive In. I like them even better now! I firmly believe that "One Armed Scissor" from ATDI or "Inertiac ESP" from Mars would rock the Toyota Center during warm-ups much harder than (insert trendy alt. rock station single here). What else is cool is that they're sorta local, from El Paso!

I ask this question to gather if my fellow rockets fans have the same taste in rock music..other fave recent (as opposed to classic) bands include but are not limited to: Modest Mouse, MGMT, Alkaline Trio, Phoenix, Chevelle, Tool, Deathcab for Cutie, Liam Lynch, The Black Keys.

I am also actually interested in any other artist from any particular genre you guys can think of! (know Batman713 is also a Z-ro fan).

you guys! Nope, no misleading title leading up to some brutal nutshot; just a loveshot. A ROCKETS loveshot, that is! I love this team, and I love this blog. I love coming on here everyday, and I love that we all have our own personalities and traits that make each and everyone of us a special fan to a special team. Everytime I see some creative idea for a new fanpost concept, I become happier than a Togepi stocked up with 10 rare candies.. I <3 ya guys!   :)

I'm so thrilled this happened. I mean, really. It's an honor. No message, idea, or reason as to why my idea got taken off, so I'm going to do the only thing I deem sensible in this situation: Blame the government. Anywho, here's try 2. Maybe this will sail smoothly under Obama's radar..

Knowing the Ron-ron lovers here in Houston, I know you folks are gonna love this. So I was hooping at Lifetime today, and this bulky black dude with a design in his head comes in and calls next. I turn around, and think to myself, "He looks kinda like Ron Artest.."

Sure enough it wasn't Ron because this dude must have been about 6'1. But still, he did kinda look like him! If I had a picture I would show yall..his design was "Klein 7-on-7 Football Champs" tho..so that part is a little different too. But he was built like a shorter Ron forreal! I swear to God I'm not making this up, his D was nothing short of stellar when he played too..he was more of a quick slasher on offense though..I asked him what position in football he played and he replied "halfback". He said he's gonna try to walk on to Texas State's team..that would be sick! He was a cool dude, and even won a couple of games when he got there. Also a good player! and it just goes to show ya: People look like famous people sometimes! You've seen a look-alike? Share with us in the comments section

So..I woke up at 9 this morning, today the last day of my class, and ate some great eggs and toast. My girl came over, and we finished The Prestige from last night before she had Calculus at noon. My last Public Speaking class was today, at 6. Guess what? I had to do 9 Chapter Quizzes due before 6. (Result of putting em off every week). So I hustled with textbook in hand..and squeezed out a 96% Quiz average to push my  overall grade to a 91! But that wasn't even the best part..

I turned in my Pappasito's application around 2, unknown to the fact that the job interview would be 20 minutes after turned in! So I was dressed alright still..no problem. I aced the interview, and got invited to the orientation on Thursday at 3! Come to 290 Pappasitos in Cypress if yall wanna get served! However, not even that was the best part..

you guys are the best part. I love the Rockets. I love you guys :)

We don't need The Predator to compete. Yeah, we would be better if he signed, just as we'd be a cold-ass team if Jesus Christ suited up in Red and White and gave us the type of perimeter presence the whole league would envy. (Man is literally, a fuckin savior). 100 bucks says that doesn't happen either. And besides, what's the point of woulda-couldas? They're a lot like those goat-sex shows in Mexico: Sure, the idea might entertain you for 10 seconds, but at the end of it, everyone just feels dirty or empty as a human being just for participating in it.

 Of course, we all know that, and that's not the true purpose of this discussion. The real issue...is my undying need for a post by Nick Hetherington. That man is pure journalism bliss! His insight and wordplay is, quite frankly, unmatched in terms of wit and execution. Not to mention style!

  This isn't a "what would happen if Nick gave us his thoughts of the Rockets' future", because that question would be rhetorical. I would nut my Yao Ming pj's with anticipation.

No, the question is WHEN will he write another one, because I truly miss that man so much. It's truly the only reason I look forward to reading the comments, in hopes he has responded to someone else's. Come back, Nick. We need you. Houston needs you. I need you.
