"In coordination with the Atlantic Coast Conference, the dedication ceremony to name the Comcast Center floor in honor of Gary Williams has been moved to Jan. 25, 2012.

The change will allow the ceremony to be part of ESPN’s national broadcast of the Duke-Maryland men’s game, with tipoff scheduled at 9 p.m."

So this game should be Auto-Win now right? The last ever all-Gary recruiting class playing together in front of him, on his newly named court. The team always has incentive to beat Duke, love it when there is even extra motivation. Mark it down automatic win vs. Duke on Jan. 25th. 

PS- Glad to see the unveiling moved to a game against an ACC rival as opposed to Florida International or some scrub team where only 2,000 students show up.

On monday night CFB live is going to be broadcasting from inside Byrd stadium from 7-8 culminating up to the Maryland-Miami game. Its going to be right in front of the student section, so spread the word for everyone to show up in white, with signs and energy. Lets have the snake pit bumpin'. Gates open at 630, so show up as early as possible. It'll help sober us all up a little bit after a long day of tailgating. We dont get too many opportunities at UMD to see a college gameday type set up, and especially not for football. So lets take advantage of this. Spread the word, see you there.

Attention Students!

ESPN's College Football Live crew will be broadcasting from inside Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium for the Maryland Football game Monday night against Miami.  The backdrop of the show's set will be the student section!  With the gates opening at 6:30pm, we need the student section PACKED before we go LIVE on National TV from 7 - 8pm, .  Let's show this country what Terrapin Nation is all about - make plans to arrive early,  WEAR WHITE (see umterps.com/OPERATION54K), and make some noise!

FSU, Clemson and Mizzou to follow. If yesterday was speculation as if we should jump ship or not, today is confimartion. Its time to jump ship. We cannot get dragged down in a conference without our two biggest football teams fan base wise (Clemson, FSU). If the Big 10 offers us I think it is not even a question that we have to join, the ACC is dwindling down and its better to be proactive then to be the school to react to what everyone else does. Personally, I think we should reach out to the Big 10 and offer ourselves, because a conference without Clemson and FSU for football is a sorry, sorry conference. I think its time to start imagining ourselves in the Big 10, because its looking more and more likely every day.

It is official, the Maryland-Duke game on March 3rd will be a Gold Out or Gold Rush. I know this news broke about a week ago, but i consider it official now because now either the administration or a sponsor will be providing the student section with gold t-shirts. And all students should be receiving an email tomorrow to let them know. We can all be thankful that we found a sponsor because without it, it would have been the weakest gold-out ever. I'm picturing a sea of red sprinkled with gold. So I'm glad this is for real. GO MD!!
