ok it seems we all have a problem with hedo playing PF being that he can't rebound well.  so i was thinking we could do what we did last year.  if you recall this was the starting lineup in the playoffs.

Lopez, amere, hill, j-rich, nash

then it went to ... at about 4 minutes in

frye, amare, hill, j-rich, nash

this was so that we would have 4 three point shooters on the floor with amare.

we could do something similar. by doing this...

start with

Lopez, frye, hedo, rich, nash

this will give us enough size in the beginning of the game.

then insert hill for either lopez or frye.

Lopez/frye , hedo , hill, rich, nash

then when the second quarter starts...

Lopez/frye, warrick, dudley, childress, dragic.

by doing this we have at least lopez or frye on the court to play center.

i'm figuring the best lineup down the strech however will be...

frye, Hedo, hill, j-rich, nash.

eventually Hedo has to play PF some time but at least not in the begining, and again you can change it depending on who your playing against.  i just think this strategy reduces the time Hedo's time at PF and keeps hill fresh.  another possibility i'm thinking of is if warrick surprises us he could start and frye could come off the bench.

Well with the Dallas victory over the Clippers the Suns will not get the 2 seed :(

but at least it narrows down the combination's to only 7 and we don't have to face Dallas in the first round.

However with Denver's victory over Memphis that really narrows the chances to playing them to 1 out of 7 possible
combination's.

In order for that to happen we gotta beat them tonight and the Jazz have to win out including against us.
That would give us the 4 seed against the Nuggets.

Another important thing, If we loose to Denver that means we are the 5th seed playing Utah no matter what happens Wednesday.
So we better win this or we might as well sit Nash tomorrow.

looks like nash isn't resting as VLsunsfan point out we can still get 4 seed if we beat utah and loose to denver.

Yet if we do win out, we will be the 3 seed and face the 6 seed which could be anyone from OKC (8th), SA  (7th) or Portland (6th who i hope we face with Roy being out).

Utah is the most likely of outcomes to face in the first round with 57% or 4 out of 7 of the combination's.

What will happen?  I don't know but I do know that tonight narrows it down further.

sorry the previous version i found some errors.

so to make up for it i have added some new odds which include: possible team match ups and a list of the tie-breakers.

here is the summary out of 41 combination's

9.8% chance suns get the 2 seed

19.5% chance suns get the 3 seed

43.9% chance suns get the 4 seed

36.6% chance suns get the 5 seed

and

2.4% to play Dallas

29.3% to play Denver

48.8% to play Utah

19.5% to play 6th seed

9.8% to play 7th seed.

with the suns win victory over Houston that leaves Dal, Utah, Den, and the Suns with two games left.

I was able to figure out the odds to get each seed based off the possible 51 scenarios there are for those 4 teams.

i did not factor in the thunder or the 6th seed for that matter cus it won't happen and we have to be optimistic right?

Plus it saves me the work.  the only way i see the suns getting the 6th seed is if they loose both and the thunder win both of theirs.   its probably the same odds to getting the 2 seed

check that its impossible now. since SA, OKC, and POR are 3 back.  so we clinched the 5th seed.

8% Suns get the 2 seed

16% Suns get the 3 seed

35% Suns get the 4 seed

41% Suns get the 5 seed

if they win both of there games they are a lock for the 3 seed and need dal to loose its two games to get the 2 seed.

if they split their games then they have a 85% chance to get the 4 seed.

if they loose both its the 5th seed.

and BTW it took about 3 hours to do this last night. i assumed the suns would win today and they did so I'm posting this now with the current standings.

so that means that Lance Long, Sean Morey and Early Doucet all make the team.  interesting to see which position is weakened by this.  tight end maybe? or perhaps we need another lineman?

what do you guys think about this?  is it a good idea to have 7 wide receivers or should that spot be filled by a more important position?
