All of Spain frustrated!

http://blogs.plus.es/daimiel/2008/11/hasta-aqu-hemos.html

I would try to translate it completely for everyone, but there are much better Spanish resources on this page than myself.

Quick and rough bullet point translation:

McMillan does not understand or know how to coach.

Giving the ball to one person, Roy, all of the time is highly unusual and will fail.

Sergio's role will diminish when Martel returns.

Rudy needs the ball more.

My only comments:  Every team has or should have a go-to guy.  Roy is the Blazer's.  The team has only played seven games and I think everyone, for or against Sergio, should just relax.  I think it says a lot about Nate's trust in Sergio when you have the summer league's MVP sitting on the bench every single game.  Blake gets more time because he is a stable veteran.  I honestly believe that if Sergio just accepts his role for now, he will earn more minutes.  He has not shown that he can be stable, which is probably the most important thing the Blazers need right now...to start this run at dominance.

What is a veteran?  Poll.

I have seen on this site and several others that the Blazers need a veteran.  What exactly is the definition of this so-called veteran?  Just getting a veteran to have one is a mistake.  I think the question is about getting a good veteran that has been a part of winning teams.  Someone mentioned it here before concerning James Posey being the next Robert Horry...I agree with that.  Having someone around that is always prepared, knows where to be, plays decent and tough defense, not afraid to take huge shots, and (for the most part) leaves their ego behind to better the team.  I would 100% agree that the Blazers will need someone of that caliber in the future.  All of the teams Posey and Horry have played with had veteran superstars on their teams (Shaq, Kobe, Shaq again, Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, KG, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce), and they became the complimentary player...the cherry on top.  It seems the Blazers have to develop their future superstars, and then bring in that complimentary piece.  I think Posey may be a decent choice, but having Posey come in now may be a disaster.  As far as having players help coach and teach the younger players, the Blazers have some veterans that have been around the league and some home-grown veterans as well.

Webster and Frye are entering their 4th year in the NBA

Blake and Outlaw are entering their 6th year.

Joel is entering his 9th year

Raef is entering is 11th year

OT - Sergio

Just a quick poll.  I have thought for awhile that Sb nation's icon or avatar looks a lot like Sergio.  I have had a few cocktails, my wife is out with the girls, and I find myself typing.  Anyway, here is a link to their icon

Here is Sergio (although you know what he looks like)

Off season thoughts again, but from someone different

No Trade - Must haves - Keepers

Oden - We are all witnesses...wait, the second coming...hmmmmm...regardless he is going to be good, and more importantly a whole lot of fun for Portland
Aldridge - Forget the Rasheed comparisons...a future mix between Garnett and Amare.
Roy - for the obvious reasons.  He looks like he is in slow motion when he is driving

Trade only if it is absolutely and positively necessary

Przy - a beast
Outlaw - The Blazers raised him and he is finally showing what he will become.  Great personality, work ethic, etc....its always about the team.
Martell - (see Outlaw; equal, but different personality and game)
Rudy - I do not know much about him except for the Euro highlights and stats.

Trade if you must, but I will be saddened

Blake - Steady and consistent; loves Portland
Raef - Seems like a good teacher and even better team mate.  His salary is waaaay too much, but will be off the books soon.  (Full disclosure - I am a jayhawk alum)
Frye - Funny dude and also loves Portland
Jones - Consistent (well, was consistent).  He seems to have fun out there, and knows what to do and where to be

Trade and I will just shrug my shoulders

Jack - Great when he is hot, awful when he is not
Sergio - Great passer, vision, etc. but please work on your shooting for next year.
McRoberts - I do not know much except that he is friends with Oden.
Von Wafer - One great game for him.  He needs to have a breakout run, but probably will not get the minutes here

Finally, concerning the draft

I trust whatever happens (draft, trade, etc.), KP will make the blazers better.  Honestly I have no idea what the Blazers need through this draft.

Empty the bench article

This is nothing we do not already know, but it is always nice to hear/read.

Good quote from it:  "Oden's unfortunate setback be damned, the Portland crew has brought the stagnating Rose Garden back to life..."

Bill Simmons 4 years ago

I just came across this.  This was a debate between Dwight Howard and Emeka Okafor as the number one draft pick.  Simmons should really re-look at his past comments before he picks on Aldridge and the Blazer fans.

Here is the quote:
"7:37 - The Magic are on the clock with the first pick. If they're smart, they take Emeka Okafor. If they're dumb, they take Howard. It's that simple."

Holiday Rasheed!

This is my first post.  I have been waiting for the perfect thing to post and I think I have it.  No need to fill in 300 words.  The video says a lot.
