Possible Reason for Tonight's Benching of Trout
Mike ran too fast to first (3.53 seconds) and needs a breather.
Hawkins with Quote of the Season
On Albert Pujols--
"I don’t see him panicking, so why should we?" said veteran reliever LaTroy Hawkins, as he prepared to work out in his team-issued apparel before Saturday’s game. "But if it’s this time next month and we’re still playing like this? Then the panic button will be the size of your head and the color of my shorts."
Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son.
... Unless you're a Ranger fan.
Mattingly Compares Yankees-Mets to Dodgers-Angels
"The Yankees are the team. (The Mets) are going to have their years when they play well, but the Yankees are still the team. I don't want to badmouth the Angels at all. (Angels owner Arte) Moreno has done a great job down there in Anaheim, and (Angels manager) Mike (Scioscia) does a great job. But we're the Dodgers, and that isn't going to change."

Dipoto Not Eager To Trade Abreu
Fantastic hair AND a sense of humor? Never change, Jerry.
Fernando Is Mad but Nobody Cares
"I'm mad — I'm really mad," Rodney said Friday. "I told them if they're not going to use me, trade me. They say no, we need you for this year."
Carl Crawford Apologizes to Fans for Poor Performance
Uh, Carl, you're a millionaire. You realize you can just call out the fans for their personal shortcomings in life.
They're all just jealous, bro!
Wash Ain't Scurred
"We're not afraid of Santana and Weaver," Washington said. "We're not talking about Don Drysdale and [Sandy] Koufax. We've faced Weaver and Santana before."
Trevor Bell demoted to SLC
Meanwhile, Horacio Ramirez is still on the 25 man.
Fire Tony, not Mickey
Mark Saxon goes after everyone's favorite GM with both barrels blazing.
All 3 Mickey Hatcher fans should be pleased with this article.
Weaver pitches for Sobe.
Vintage Angel Stadium Photos
I stumbled across this guys flickr account while searching for Angel Stadium photos. Great vintage and current photos. Pretty impressive collection.
Not only of Angel Stadium, but LA Wrigley, Memorial Coliseum, and Anaheim in general.
Angels are featured in a new MLB 11: The Show trailer, for PS3.
Doesn't end too well for polygon Torii.
Is this your Nissan, Rev?

I figure we might need one of these pretty soon, for our newest Angel.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
I'm so proud of this team I can't even begin (I'm drunk as a motherfucker so i will).
I've never had a season affect me as much as 2009 and I go back as far as Hendu destroying my hopes and dreams as a 6 year old.
Nick died a block from my house and that set the tone of the season. I cried for days. No TBS commercial can commercialize the feeling of April 9th, driving to work, realizing that the kid you saw last night is gone.
The season goes on.
I yell at Sosh. I yell at Figgy. I yell at Rivera.
I had so much fun. There was so much emotion in this season and I'm thankful to be a part of it.This team battled, hence the cliche thomas quote. These guys didn't punk out, they BATTLED. All season long.
Mat, thanks for running a great blog. It was an unforgettable season. Nick would have enjoyed it, and I KNOW he would have gotten into Andy's head if they went toe to toe.
Season is over, what are you guys most proud of for the 09 team?

Where are you watching the post season games?
Post season is here, and I'm stoked. Is anyone doing anything special to watch the games?
I'm watching the first two weekday games at the house, but Sunday going to House of Brews in Huntington Beach. The owner there is an Angel fan, and I've had pretty good times there in the past (watched a few of the world series games there in 02). Not too exciting, but I gotta admit watching the game at a bar amongst fans is almost as good as being at the stadium.
So what is everyone else doing during the most exciting time in the baseball season?
