"I Got You" is a pop song performed by British singer-songwriter Leona Lewis. It was written by Arnthor Birgisson, Max Martin and Savan Kotecha, and produced by Birgisson. It is featured on Lewis' second studio album, Echo (2009). "I Got You" was released on 21 February, 2010, in the United Kingdom as the second and final single from the album, with "Heartbeat" as B-side. Lyrically, "I Got You" tells of how relationships with one and other may have broken down, but they will always be there for each other.
Lewis promoted the song on several UK television programmes, such as The Alan Titchmarsh Show, BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge and So You Think You Can Dance and it was included on the set list of her debut concert tour The Labyrinth (2010). The music video was directed by Dave Meyers in Venice Beach, California. Lewis is shown to be in front of a burning heart as well as sitting on an apartment floor, whilst the video is intercut with the relationships of other couples working on resolving their struggles. The song received mixed reviews from music critics, criticising it for not to be something "new" and that Lewis does not take over it. "I Got You" peaked at number three on the UK R&B Chart and number 14 in the UK Singles Chart, making it Lewis' lowest charting single on the "UK Singles Chart" to date and spent six weeks in the UK Top 40. Also, the single reached the top 30 in the New Zealand Singles Chart and the Austrian Singles Chart.
Who is your favorite current Ranger - 2012
I'm 29 years old, so I try not to have a "favorite" player, someone I would defend no matter what argument was brought up against him.
However, knowing that Ian will be around for a while, I feel safe putting the old "favorite player" tag on him.
So I'm curious, who is YOUR favorite Ranger? Explain any reasons you may have for your selection in the comments section.
If your favorite player currently resides in the minors, let us know who.

Chinx Drugz (born December 4, 1983), is an American rapper part of Coke Boys. He is best known for being one quarter of Tha Riot Squad alongside the late Stack Bundles, but more recently for his collaborations with French Montana who is also part of Coke Boys.[1]
Contents[hide] |
[edit] Biography
Chinx Drugz was born in New York City and was raised in the Edgemere projects of Far Rockaway, Queens where he began rapping in junior high school. From the 9th grade he became more involved in music and in 2003 he helped create the Hip Hop group 'Tha Riot Squad' along with Stack Bundles, who had attended the same school as him. The group, which was made up of Chinx, Stack Bundles, Cau2g$ and Bynoe, gained underground success but never managed to breakthrough onto the maintstream stage.
Chinx was arrested in 2004 for drug possession and spent four years at Mid-State Correctional Facility in New York, being eventually released on 10 October 2008. During his jail sentence his long term friend and ByrdGang member Stack Bundles was murdered on 11 June 2007 in Far Rockaway.[2]
He has said his influences in music are Stack Bundles, Nas, Dr. Dre and Jay-Z amongst others, and that his favourite album of all time is Nas's 1996 album It Was Written. He expressed his desire to XXL Magazine in February 2012 that he would most like to work with British singer Adele, stating that "her voice and melody is phenomenal" and that he knows they "would come up with a smash".[3]
[edit] Coke Boys
He was introduced to French Montana through Ty Black in 2009, after the two had previously known each other through mutual friends such as Max B, who was a ByrdGang member alongside Stack Bundles before his death. On 15 September 2010 the first official Coke Boys mixtape, on which Chinx was featured on four tracks.[4] The next month the Coke Boys Tour mixtape was released, this time Chinx was featured on seven tracks.[5] The highly anticipated Coke Boys 2 mixtape was released on 19 August 2011 which was a big success, with Chinx featuring nine times on the mixtape.[6][7] The success of the Coke Boys movement since 2010 has made Chinx one of New York's brightest artists alongside new Bad Boy Records member French Montana, who have created a relationship seemingly similar to that of Max B and French Montana before the former being sentenced to a 75 years in 2009 and Stack Bundles and Chinx before the murder.

From the Wiki
A semiwadcutter or SWC is a type of all-purpose bullet commonly used in revolvers. The SWC combines features of the wadcutter target bullet and traditional round nosed revolver bullets, and is used in both revolver and pistol cartridges for hunting, target shooting, and plinking. Full wadcutters frequently have problems feeding from magazines reliably in automatics, so SWCs may be used when a true WC is desired but cannot be used for this reason.
The Tuesday Mo'nin OT thread
Vomiting (known medically as emesis and informally as throwing up and by a number of other terms) is the forceful expulsion of the contents of one's stomach through the mouth and sometimes the nose.[1] Vomiting can occur due to a wide variety of conditions; it may present as a specific response to ailments like gastritis or poisoning, or as a non-specific sequela of disorders ranging from brain tumors and elevated intracranial pressure to overexposure to ionizing radiation. The feeling that one is about to vomit is called nausea, which usually precedes, but does not always lead to, vomiting. Antiemetics are sometimes necessary to suppress nausea and vomiting. In severe cases, where dehydration develops, intravenous fluid may be required.
Vomiting is different from regurgitation, although the two terms are often used interchangeably. Regurgitation is the return of undigested food back up the esophagus to the mouth, without the force and displeasure associated with vomiting. The causes of vomiting and regurgitation are generally different.
02/29 - Mornin' OT
The Roman conquest of Hispania was a historical period that began with the Roman landing at Empúries in 218 BC and ended with the Roman conquest of the Iberian Peninsula, then Hispania, by Caesar Augustus in 17 BC.
Long before the First Punic War, between the 8th and 7th centuries BC, the Phoenicians (and later the Carthaginians) had already appeared in the southern part of the Iberian Peninsula as well as in the East, to the south of the Ebro. Their numerous commercial settlements based throughout these coastal strips provided an outlet into Mediterranean commerce for minerals and other resources of pre-Roman Iberia. These installations consisting of little more than warehouses and wharves allowed not only exports, but also the introduction to the Peninsula of products manufactured in the Eastern Mediterranean. This had the indirect effect of the native peninsular cultures adopting certain Eastern characteristics.
During the 7th century BC, the Greeks established their first colonies on the northern Mediterranean coast of the peninsula. Setting off from Massalia (Marseille) they founded the cities of Emporion (Ampurias) and Rhode (Roses), although at the time they had already spread throughout the coastal commercial centers of the region without establishing a permanent presence. Part of this Greek commerce was nevertheless carried out by Phoenician shipping; Phoenician trade in the peninsula included articles both coming from and heading to Greece. As a commercial power of the Western Mediterranean, Carthage expanded its interests to the island of Sicily and the south of Italy. This growing influence over the region soon proved to be an annoyance for Rome. This conflict of commercial interests ultimately led to the Punic Wars of which the First Punic War ended in an unstable armistice. The mutual hostility led to the Second Punic War, which, after twelve years of conflict, resulted in effective Roman domination of the south and east of the Iberian Peninsula. Later, a decisive defeat for Carthage at Zama would wipe that city from the historical scene.
Despite having vanquished their rival Mediterranean power, the Romans still took another two centuries to bring the entire Iberian Peninsula under their control through an expansionist policy that earned the enmity of practically all of the tribes of the interior. The abuses to which these people were submitted is considered to be responsible for the strong anti-Roman sentiment throughout these nations. After years of bloody conflict, the indigenous people of Hispania were finally crushed by the military and cultural heel of Rome, thus disappearing from the face of history.
11/17 Morning OT Thread - Recovery from Twister
Twister is a 1996 American disaster/thriller film starring Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt as "storm chasers" researching tornadoes. It was directed by Jan de Bont. The film was based upon a script by Michael Crichton and Anne-Marie Martin. Its executive producers were Steven Spielberg, Walter Parkes, Laurie MacDonald and Gerald R. Molen. Twister was the second-highest grossing film of 1996 domestically, with an estimated 55 million tickets sold in the US.
In the film, a team of storm chasers try to perfect a data-gathering instrument, designed to be released into the funnel of a tornado, while competing with another better-funded team with a similar device during a tornado outbreak across Oklahoma. The plot is a dramatized view of research projects like VORTEX of the NOAA and the device, called Dorothy, is copied from TOTO used in the 1980s by NSSL.
Twister is notable for being both the first Hollywood feature film to be released on DVD format[1] and the last to be released on HD DVD.[2] Twister has since been released on Blu-ray disc. It was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects and Best Sound in 1997.
I THINK WE'RE GOING IIIINNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Turn your personal anger into hope for others. Donate.
I, like all of you, am sitting here in disbelief. I'm numb to baseball right now. I'm angry, I'm sad, I'm tired.
So I thought about what would cheer me up. Jokes, music, sitting in a dark, cold room with no human contact.
Then, I figured... Why not just use this opportunity to do something nice, for someone else. As bad as I'm feeling, why not do something to help someone who's probably feeling worse than I am.
So I donated to the Texas Rangers foundation. Perspective.
I invite all of you to do the same thing.
We've had a terrible 24 hours, but that's nothing compared to those who are actually in need.
I don't want this to come off as a "holier than thou" post, I just figured it would be a good idea if we all chipped in and showed why we are such a great community here.

Think about it.

Emily Deschanel vs. Zooey Deschanel
This needs to be settled.
Which of the 2 Deschanel sisters do you find hotter? Emily (Bones) or Zooey (The New Girl)?
Just go do a Google image search and look for yourselves.
To me, it's not even close. But, I'm interested to see what the general public thinks.
Since this is a worthless post, I'll delete it once it seems to hit a lull in votes.
I need five more words.
LSB East: A Head Count
I'm wondering how many of you are east coasters like myself. The Texas boys get to have their fun, the west coast guys have gotten together before...
Who would we have at an LSB: East Coast meetup?
Would you have any ideas for a meetup? Maybe a Yankee game or a Red Sox game? Maybe just go get bombed somewhere?
If you're out there, raise your hand and have your name added to the LSB: East list.

1868 Ecuador earthquakesFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 1868 Ecuador earthquakes occurred at 19:30 UTC on August 15 and 06:30 UTC on 16 August 1868. They caused severe damage in the northeastern part of Ecuador and in southwestern Colombia. They had an estimated magnitude of 6.3 and 6.7 and together caused up to 70,000 casualties. The earthquake of 15 August occurred near El Angel, Carchi Province, close to the border with Colombia, while that of August 16 occurred near Ibarra in Imbabura Province.[1] Reports of these earthquakes are often confused with the effects of the earthquake of 13 August at Arica.[2]

ALCS Game 6 Pre-Game Thread
There isn't a good thread for random talk about the game. The bullpen thread is too specific.
So I'm making this thread for discussing whatever about the game, or even getting OT if you want.
The Yankees bats finally woke up in their 7-2 Game 5 win, with six of their nine hits going for extra bases, to stave off elimination and send the series back to Texas for tonight’s Game 6. It was the fourth straight season that a team down 3-games-to-1 won a Game 5 in a postseason series.![]()
HughesThe Yankees are trying to come back from a 3-1 deficit for just the second time in franchise history and the first since the 1958 World Series. In the history of postseason baseball, 72 teams have trailed 3-1 in a best-of-seven series and only 11 have rallied to win the series, the most recent in 2007 when the Red Sox beat the Indians in the ALCS.
What are the chances they’ll be able to force a decisive Game 7?
The bad news: The Yankees have lost seven of their last 11 postseason games when facing elimination, and have dropped five of their last seven ALCS games on the road. The good news: The Yankees have won their past two Game 6s (both in 2009) and are 7-3 all-time in Game 6s on the road.Youngest Pitchers in Yankees History
To Start Potential Elimination Game
Yrs-Days Game Waite Hoyt 22-34 1921 WS Game 8 Mel Stottlemyre 22-337 1964 WS Game 7 Johnny Kucks 23-75 1956 WS Game 7 Phil Hughes 24-121 2010 ALCS Game 6 Andy Pettitte 25-113 1997 ALDS Game 5
Phil Hughes makes his second start of the ALCS, and when he steps on the mound, he’ll be the fourth-youngest Yankee to start a potential elimination game and the youngest ever to start a Game 6. He is looking to rebound from one of the worst outings of his career, during which he allowed seven runs on 10 hits, seven for extra bases, in just four innings in Game 2 last week.
In Game 2, Hughes struggled to finish off hitters when getting to two strikes, as the Rangers went 5-for-11 (.455), including four extra base hits, in two-strike counts. Hughes also left his pitches up, and the Rangers capitalized, going 6-for-8 (.750) on pitches in the upper third of the zone and above.
The Rangers are looking to advance to their first-ever World Series and end a drought of 49 seasons since debuting as a franchise in 1961. They are one of three active MLB franchises never to have appeared in a World Series, along with the Mariners and Nationals.
Texas is 1-3 all-time when trying to eliminate a team in a postseason series. They lost Game 3 and Game 4 against Tampa Bay in the ALDS before winning Game 5, and they lost Game 4 in this ALCS.![]()
LewisColby Lewis is also making his second start of the ALCS, having earned the win in Game 2 allowing just two runs in a solid five and â…” innings. That was his first career win against the Yankees, after going 0-2 with a 6.89 ERA in his first three starts against them.
One key for Lewis in Game 2 was his use of the curveball as an out pitch, as the Yankees went 0-for-4 against the hook. Lewis was also effective in getting Yankee hitters to chase pitches, with four of his six total strikeouts coming on pitches out of the zone.

Nolan Ryan predicts 92 wins, gets Rangers on ESPN front page.

This is just dumb. I would prefer if our front office left the predictions to the journalists and fans.
"I just feel like that's a number that this ballclub should be able to reach," Ryan said Wednesday. "It's hard to sit here before we play a spring game and predict, but I feel like we have the depth and talent and we're capable of doing that."
"Predator" hedge fund could throw wrench in Rangers sale (via Maury Brown)
| Written by Maury Brown |
| Tuesday, 26 January 2010 01:16 |
|
For the majority of Texas Rangers fans, the statement from Hicks Sports Group saying that a sales agreement between HSG and a group of investors headed by Chuck Greenberg and Nolan Ryan was a sign that the end had finally come, new owners were on the way. But, in a case where Hicks Sports Group debt is still hanging over the heads of the Rangers, there’s a chance that the deal may not meet the muster of HSG’s biggest lender. One of the final steps in the process includes approval from the 40 creditors that HSG is in debt to before approval from MLB. As reported by Daniel Kaplan of the SportsBusiness Journal, Monarch Alternative Capital, a hedge fund that now owns $100 million of the $525 million of debt that Tom Hicks has incurred may be a deciding factor in the sale. Monarch Alternative Capital is known as a “distressed debt buyer” or in more unflattering terms, a “predator” that looks to “buy debt at a discount from banks that hold defaulted loans and then hopes to make more by selling the assets.” Because Monarch is in the business of extracting as much of a profit as possible in these types of deals, they could have a considerable say in the matter. As reported by the SBJ: Monarch saying no to a deal that guarantees it a sure amount of cash could be considered an unlikely scenario, but sources are painting a picture of Monarch as being willing to go to the mat if it thinks it is not getting every penny it should. It has been reported from multiple sources that the bid from Houston businessman, Jim Crane, was higher than the Greenberg-Ryan bid. It is unknown if Crane would be allowed back into the bidding process, should Monarch Alternative Capital not approve of the deal that the Greenberg-Ryan group has on the table. |

World Cup Draw Thread
It starts at 12:45 EST
Soccer world focuses on 2010 draw in Cape Town
CAPE TOWN, South Africa — The eyes of the soccer world focused on Cape Town on Friday, with fans of 32 competing nations hoping for a kind draw at next year's World Cup.
Coaches, former soccer stars and celebrities were gathering for a draw ceremony to decide the eight groups of four teams.
Oscar-winning movie star Charlize Theron will help FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke in a lavish ceremony due to start at 7 p.m.
Defending champion Italy, five-time winner Brazil and European champion Spain will be looking to avoid the sort of draw that makes it tough to get through the group phase. Teams from New Zealand to Mexico, Chile to North Korea, Slovakia to host South Africa will hope those conducting the draw will give them a chance of a place in the knockout phase.
The 32 nations in the draw have been split geographically into four pots which will eventually produce eight groups of four teams.
South Africa, as host, has been given one of the seeded positions along with Italy, Brazil, Spain, England, Germany, Netherlands and Argentina.
"Expectations are very high and this is the start of the World Cup for me and the other coaches involved," said South Africa coach Carlos Alberto Parreira, who led his native Brazil to the 1994 title and has coached at three other World Cups. "I have been involved in World Cup draws before. As Brazil's national coach, expectations were just as high but this one is extra special because we are the World Cup hosts."
The other three South American teams — Paraguay, Chile and two-time World Cup winner Uruguay — are also in the same pool so they can't meet in the first round. The same applies to the four Asian qualifiers, North Korea, South Korea, Japan and Australia. and Africa's other qualifiers, Nigeria, Ghana, Algeria, Ivory Coast and Cameroon.
The 13 European teams in the competition can't avoid each other altogether, but there can't be more than two in any group.
The second band of European teams — France, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Denmark, Switzerland, Greece and Serbia — are in the same pool. That has angered the French, who felt they should have been seeded after winning the title in 1998 and reaching the final four years ago.
Because France is in the European pot, there could be a repeat of the 2006 World Cup final in the group stage, with Italy possibly meeting the French.
With the draw ceremony for the June 11-July 11 championship taking place and hundreds of delegates and officials from around the world gathering in Cape Town, the bidding nations for the World Cups in 2018 and 2022 are also taking the opportunity to impress observers.
David Beckham is one of the leading figures backing England's bid. But the 1966 hosts face opposition from the United States, Australia, Russia, Japan, Qatar, Indonesia, South Korea and joint bids from Spain-Portugal and Netherlands-Belgium.
