Another Cowboy WR speaks his mind about the offense and not getting the ball. What could be the reason? It could be that Roy feels sorry for us always debating T.O. If this is the case Roy, thank you. I am going to guess that he had a different motive, maybe he has pride. Pride in performing well, and more importantly pride in winning. Nobody should question that. I watched every postgame interview with him. His comments and demeanor were the same in every loss and the same in every victory. He wants to win. He is a life-long Cowboy fan. He said that he loved the higher expectations of winning in Dallas. He wants to practice harder but felt that he looked stupid busting his butt in practice. He said that the freaking Lions practiced harder! That’s the worst team in NFL history. Roy’s criticism from many people will be that he’s doesn’t run great routes. I don’t think Roy has admitted this, but he’s not a great route runner. He’s not a horrible route runner, though. He does run the slant very well and he also has awesome hands with good speed. He’ll be fine here in Dallas, eventually, but what did he intend to do with these comments? He is trying to be the leader everyone wants. He’s not vocal, but he will lead by example.

Bottom line is that Roy should not be labeled as a bad attitude, bust. The players should not be blamed as much as the coaches. I would assume most people agree with this but when an interview like this comes out, the players are called whiners. Roy had the worst year of his career by yards, receptions, and TD’s. The most glaring shortcoming this year for Roy is his lack of a single catch of 40 yards! That is a team not using him correctly. He had 13, 40+ yard catches in his previous 4 years but in this year ZERO. Also, in his previous 4 years he had 52, 20+ yard catches. This year 6, and 4 of those were in 5 games with the Lions. I think that Tony Romo will eventually answer most doubts, although he played carelessly this year. I think T.O.’s positives outweighs any negative. The most important variable? Garrett must go. We can’t waste another year. Amazing how far JG has fallen.

In a related story: I also heard Jamie Dukes from the NFL Network say that BP had a very big and lasting impact on JJ. He said that JJ is now committed to always run an aggressive 3-4 D; thus, the hiring of Wade as the HC. Aggressive, is the key word. Not just a base 3-4. Now, JJ is left without an available DC to run the D he wants. Dukes also said that Glanville was JJ first phone call, even before Wade and Norv. If this is the case and Dukes is correct. That would make sense for keeping Wade and the DC position vacant until he can talk Wade into taking the DC position. That’s probably wishful thinking, but what other aggressive 3-4 coaches are out there now that Ryan was hired by the Jets?

No more band-aids. No more consultants. Fire Wade as the HC and fire JG as the OC.

Not that we need another TO posting, but numbers don't lie.

I really do try to look objectively at getting rid of TO. The lightning rod would be gone and we can focus more on those great Wade PC's. I spent some time watching every offensive play over again last week from this season. I really don't think we can comprehend the way that defenses cover him. Most teams, with the exception of SF, kept a safety or LB on his side to play cover 2. This would leave middle routes open. This obviously gives Witten a huge advantage. My purpose is not to downplay Witten. He would be a Pro-Bowler in any offense(omit Det.) The coverage on TO also allows for the checkdowns to the RB's have a chance to be very producitive. Barber had a 70yd rec. TD and a 25yd TD. Barber avg 8 yds a catch. Choice had 50yd and 22yd catches.

I am not saying that none of these would've happened if T.O. was not on the field, but if you want to get rid of this lightning rod then get ready for a pre-TO offense.

He's selfish, arrogant, and can be annoying. That is a lot to swallow, but he is worth it. He makes other players better. Look at the top WR's ranked by targets. He has more TD's than all except Fitz. and C.Johnson. His yards per target is great. I'm not saying he is Jordan, but one stat that always became acceptable when Jordan started winning was points per shot attempt. The 2 might not be very comparable, but the fact is that TO produces at a high level.
