Josh Hamilton Relapse?
Apparently, Josh Hamilton was spotted drinking in a Dallas-area bar. It's his second relapse in three years. Full story found in the link.
On a potential trade of Zack Greinke: Talent is not distributed evenly, so one A-list prospect is worth a lot more than twice two B-list prospects, and so on. As silly as it sounds, a one-for-one trade for the Angels' Mike Trout, the second-best prospect in the game, would be the perfect deal for the Royals. For that reason, it's likely out of reach, but it represents the type of trade Moore needs to make: adding one or two top-50 guys, rather than a number of top-150 ones. He has depth; he's looking for stars.

Personally, I would say, "No." Why the fuck would we trade Trout?
Top Japanese Infielder to be Posted
According to Tim Kurkjian, Tsuyoshi Nishioka (middle infielder) is going to be posted by the Chiba Lotte Marines. He is 26 years old. I found the news on MLB Trade Rumors.
Nishioka's stats look good.
BA: .346
SB: 22
Runs: 121
H: 206 (most by any Japanese league player since Ichiro)
This looks intriguing, even given our middle infield surplus. What would you think about winning the bidding, signing him, and then trading either Aybar or Kendrick plus a prospect or two for a good, reliable reliever? We could easily non-tender Callaspo if we sign Adrian Beltre.
Tsuyoshi Nishioka:
Bats: Left
Throws: Right
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 175
Apparently, the Giants have interest in him already.
Angels Release Robb Quinlan
Damn. He was good trade bait.

Michael Kohn Called Up?
There's no confirmation on this anywhere, but hopefully it's true. If so, I would say this has been a pretty good past 6 days for the transaction page on the Angels' website.

Angels Interested in Blalock?
I'm not sure how reliable of a source Mike DiGiovanna is, but apparently, Reagins has some interest in 1B/3B/DH Hank Blalock, who was just DFA'd by the Rays.
I wouldn't really be too happy with this potential acquisition. Where would we put him? I don't think he would produce more than Napoli, Izturis/Frandsen/Wood, or Matsui.
Rangers Acquire Bengie Molina
The Rangers just traded Chris Ray (RP) and a PTBNL to the Giants for Bengie Molina.
I hope this doesn't add too much of a boost to their offense and defense.
Angels Sign Daniel Cabrera
He's sucked in the past, but he definitely has upside, so why not? He's assigned to AA.
The link above is the Arkansas Travelers' transactions page.

New Rules for All-Star Game
• The contest always will include a designated hitter no matter where it's played.
• No starting pitcher who competes for his team on the previous Sunday will be allowed to pitch in the game.
• Rosters have been increased to 34 players, by one slot designated for a position player.
• A rule will allow one position player re-entry into the game if necessitated by injury.
I have no objections towards any of these. How about you guys?
FINALLY!!! ESPN Covers The Angels
A major ESPN Baseball Tonight analyst realizes the Angels' talent and puts it into a written document. PROOF THAT THE EAST COAST BIAS IS STARTING TO CHANGE (even just a little bit)!
Dodgers Get Sherrill
Well....there goes another option. Looks like Ninja is going to have to work quickly if he wants to get something done.
Stats by Batting Spot
I came across this site while I was looking for the 2011 Free Agents List (which I did not find). It has the stats for the Angels for every spot in the batting order. In my opinion, the best spot was the cleanup spot. You can also see the stats by positions. Enjoy
Players to Build a Team Around
Baseball Prospectus' top 25 players to build a team around. Sadly, there aren't any Angels in the top 25 though. There are three in numbers 26-50. Lackey (49),Kendrick (44), and Teixeira (38)

No Angels were Honorable Mentions.

Angels/ChiSox Discussing Konerko
Just got a solid tip that the Angels and White Sox are discussing a possible Paul Konerko deal. No idea how serious these talks may be.
The Angels made an offer to Konerko in the winter of 2005-06, when he was a free agent. Konerko does have a limited no-trade clause to consider.
Some names being bandied about include Ervin Santana, Howie Kendrick, and Chone Figgins. Of course, all three would not be in the deal. The Sox also seek relief help. Moving Konerko would mean putting Nick Swisher at first base, while Figgins could be the leadoff hitter the Sox are after.
