No Speed and No Power...it's killing us

With no speed in the line-up or a manager who is afraid to steal a base, and no power in the lineup we are in for a long season.  For the most part the starting pitching has been really good and the bullpen has been better lately, not good but better. What do you think we can do to solve this problem?  any trades? anything?  go braves.

Spend money or trade away young talent?

If you were FW this offseason. Would you spend the money to acquire assuming it's 7- 10 million a year on Adam Dunn or would you trade away some top ranked prospects to land Nick Swisher. I think that is is a known fact that we need a power hitter or at the very least a very good left fielder.  I personally would like to see us get Dunn, then If we not not competing for the division of the wild card, trade him before the deadline for some prospects, I'm sure someone would want him for the homestretch. We would of course have to sign him to a 2 year deal, thus making him an even more attractive player for the deadline....

What do you the about Andruw in the of

I have not seen a post about Andruw in a couple of weeks, and it looks like he will be back with the Braves this year.  I think Andruw would be a cheap addition to our outfield and he really has something to prove.  If he would come in an EARN a spot in the team

and have any type of year at all we could really push the phillies and mets for the title.  I also think we should still go after Dunn or Nady for  the final outfield spot.  Could you imagine if Andruw and Frenchy had bounce back years...I know it's hard to imagine that, but if they did  with our new staff, the National League would be ours to lose. I would like to hear what Y'all think.

will Murphy ever get into the HOF

I loved watching Murphy play, when the Braves were losing 90-100 games a year he came to play everyday!  He won back to back MVP awards and, played in what 7 All-Star games,  and was one of the best players of his era!  Will he ever get into the HOF?  God I hope so.  Hell, at this point I think that I would be happy if he was able to get on 55% of the ballots.

not afarid to admit i'm wrong

I could be wrong about having to spend to win.  At least I hope i'm wrong.  I just get tired of us losing out on free agents and losing players because we can't afford them.  I do think you that some off-seasons like this season, we needed to spend to fill some gaps that we have in the line-up.  We really have not done much to improve maybe and just maybe this off-season we needed to spend a little more then we have  : 0 )

the only way to compete is to SPEND $

in today game in order to compete you must SPEND MONEY...unless you have young talent that is ready to play at the major league level (which we do not have) then you must buy players. you can't get outbid every time you go after a free agent..sometimes you have to overspend to get the players you want.  If we continue to lose out on bigtime players when we have money to spend we will finish 3 or worse in the east every season..,,,, a great rock band once sang SAD BUT TRUE,
