Bball Commitment: Josh Scott, Lewis-Palmer HS
The Buffs received their first 2012 hoops commitment from 6'9'' Josh Scott of Lewis-Palmer High School. He looks like a pretty solid player, averages 20/10.
Hopefully this is the beginning of a trend where the in-state talent (although limited) comes to Boulder...think Patrick Simpson ans Sean Ogirri, who went out-of-state despite offers from CU.
Here is a good little article on his recruitment/commitment, I love to see that he's excited to be a Buff.

Colorado Nabs Late Addition To The 2010 Class - DL Dakota Poole
Bumped to the front page - Jon
According to Rivals, we added another signee to our 2010 recruiting class in Defensive Lineman Dakota Poole out of British Columbia.
Doesn't look like the kid had any other offers, but he has good size, 6'6'' 260 lbs, and Defensive Line is always an area of need. Maybe this addition will help us tap into the recruiting pipeline that is Western Canada.
Welcome to Buff Nation Dakota!

Buffs Receive New Verbal - QB Dexter Foreman
According to Rivals.com, Manville, TX Quarterback Dexter Foreman has verbally committed to CU. You always have to take these early commits with a grain of salt (remember Jordan Wynn), but let's hope he sticks it out.
His only other offer is from Tulsa, but it sounds like Texas A&M has been recruiting him fairly heavily.

Here is a blurb from the Daily Camera:
The Colorado football program received its first commitment from a high school prospect for the 2011 recruiting class Tuesday when quarterback Dexter Foreman announced his decision, Scout.com reported.
CU previously had received a commitment from offensive lineman Shaun Simon, a member of the 2009 recruiting class who was ruled academically ineligible that year and had to attend a junior college. He re-committed to CU over the winter.
Foreman, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect from Manville, Texas, near Houston, made an unofficial visit to Boulder last week for the spring game.
"It was a stellar campus and is one of the top business programs in the country," Foreman told Scout.com. "It is also a great quarterback situation there. They run spread style offense I have been wanting and the coaches have mad love for their players."
It is unclear whether Foreman will play quarterback at CU or if he will join the program as an athlete and end up at another position as other recruited quarterbacks such as Clark Evans and Josh Moten have done recently.
Colorado coaches won't be quite as busy with recruiting this year as some years because they are expected to sign only about 15-17 prospects. However, with 10 months remaining in this recruiting cycle that number could grow slightly.
bumped to front page. More to come - irish.
DE Kirk Poston Commits to the Buffaloes
According to Scout, the Buffs have received a verbal from DE Kirk Poston out of Houston. I always love to see guys from Houston joining the Buffs, especially on the defensive side of the ball. We need to reopen the Texas pipeline that brought us so much success in the past (Alfred Williams, Kanavis McGhee, Chris Hudson, etc.) Poston has offers from Duke, Houston & K-State among others. Welcome to CU, Kirk.
Depressing Team Stats Thus Far
I had the following statistics passed on to me:
Here are selected current rankings among 120 Football Bowl Subdivision (the old Division I), through our Kansas State game:
Interceptions Thrown - 118th with 12. Only Rice (with 13) and Miami of Ohio (16) have more. Cody Hawkins leads all NCAA QBs with 11 interceptions.
Passing Efficiency - 114th, with a score of 99.33, and last in the Big XII
Total Offense - 107th, at 301.9 yards per game, and last in the Big XII
Rushing Offense - 110th, at 89.1 yards per game, and next to last in the Big XII
Pathetic is really all I can say. I never thought I would want Shawn Watson back, but Watson looks like Bill Walsh compared to Coach Gary Busey that we have now.
