Gonna miss Rudy alot. But he'll have a great oppurtunity in Dallas. Interesting link: http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/mavericks/post/_/id/4680160/rudy-fernandez-is-a-plus-minus-machine

Farewell Rudy Fernandez!

Nate subs Roy for Rudy to start the 4th (earlier than usual), and the Blazers score a total of 2 points in the first 6 minutes of the 4th quarter, the only points coming on a contested Roy fadeaway (long 2) in the corner.

The players that played in this stretch were Camby, LMA Batum, Roy, Dante, Wesley and Johnson.

Pretty unbelievable if you ask me. 2 points in 6 minutes?

Blazer's Edge If Roy is out, who starts at SG?

Obviously it's between Wes and Rudy. Both have been fairly up and down so far, with Matthews showing a decent ability to get inside and Fernandez knocking down the jumpers but both being streaky. I don't have much to say about it but would like to get everyone's opinion on the matter.

Either way I'm glad we have both of these guys, because if Roy is out for any amount of time we suddenly are very average depth-wise even with our centers back.

Choose a player for each position.

I'd probably go with this lineup:

31 points
11-13 FG
5-7 3PT
4-4 FT
8 rebounds
3 assists
4 steals and only 1 turnover.

There's no way you can say that isn't EXCELLENT.

Rudy scores 19 points on 8 shots vs. Canada, Spain wins 89-67. I wanted to watch it but didn't get up early enough, it seems.

Blazer's Edge The Myth of Martell

There are people that are gushing about Martell's stellar play as of late. After taking a quick look at his stats for this series I was aghast. The stats speak for themselves.

http://www.nba.com/playerfile/martell_webster/game_by_game_stats.html

38% FG? 15% from 3? 46% from the line? And don't say he's not getting the minutes.. he's been playing half the minutes at 24 per game.

He's trying, he's giving a lot of effort, I will concede that. But he's simply not efficient in any way.

Blazer's Edge It seems so simple

Our future lineup in about 3 years that will establish our dominance.

Starters:

Greg Oden

LaMarcus Aldridge

Nicolas Batum

Brandon Roy

Jerryd Bayless

Reserves

Joel Przybilla

Rudy Fernandez

Sergio Rodriguez

Eight man rotation, everyone gets their minutes, 8 elite players. A 3 big man rotation would work well, especially when Oden develops a strong postup game. And what is the deal with everyone saying Rudy wouldn't be satisfied with being a sixth man? Ginobli does it and is obviously considered a superstar.
