It was announced today that Ron Johnson and Frank Winters are to added to the Colts coaching staff. Ron Johson is a former Ravens WR who is taking over the WR coaching position. Frank Winters is a former Green Bay Packer and is taking over the O-line position. Frank Winters was a pro bowl center 1987 to 2002. Ron Johnson was just recently with Cleveland Gladiators in the Arena Football League. Ron is 28 years old and Frank is 45. Both have had 0 coaching years. We will see how well the Colts handle their young inexperienced coaches.

Colts cut another key franchise piece
The Colts announced Friday that they are parting ways with long time advisor and friend of Bill Polian, Dom Anile. Dom was the key peice in scouting undrafted free agents the Colts have had so much success with. Dom is credited with finding Jeff Saturday and Dominic Rhodes.
“He played a major role in our success and in the development of an outstanding department and staff,” Polian said in a statement. “We will miss him greatly. On a personal level, I will miss him greatly as well. He is one of my closest friends in football.” - Bill Polian
I would love to be optimistic about this season but I think it will definatly be hard to over come these huge loses. The Colts (as you well know) have lost coaches Tony Dungy (head coach of course), Ron Meeks (defense), Purnell (special teams thank God), star WR Marvin Harrison , and maybe the best ofensive coordator and O-line coach in the league. Its anyones guess on how the players are going to handle these changes. I hope the Colts come out fired up. I can't stand to lose.

NFL RULE CHANGES
Today like everyone already knows, some interesting rule changes have been introduced into the NFL. These changes (like always) take away from the brutality of the game of football. Soon QB's wont have to worry so much about being sacked but instead, having their flag pulled. These rules include "having an equal number of players on on-side kicks (no more than 5 players on one side), Offensive players can no longer blind side block defensive players (Ex, the Hines Ward play), and finaly defensive players can no longer go low on QB's even if they are blocked to the ground". The press has gone wild with these rule changes. Here are some examples.
"After every play, all 22 players on the field have exactly fifteen seconds to flex, pose, and thump their chests to demonstrate that they are all the best athlete in the entire world"-(http://www.somethingawful.com/d/news/nfl-rules-2009.php)
"Absolutely, positively no roughhousing
If a player brings a cupcake to the game, he must bring enough cupcakes for everyone
A fifth quarter has been added to each game, with the third quarter having been removed to make room for it
On-field speed limit of 10 miles per hour
When an offensive lineman and a defensive lineman grapple, tickling will incur a fifteen yard penalty
Quarterbacks can only run diagonally, defensive linemen can only run in a line that's perpendicular or horizontal to the line of scrimmage, and whites are not allowed to play at the running back position
Any player caught sobbing or openly crying must run ten laps around the stadium

In order to establish possession, a wide receiver must bring the ball to his body without losing control, touch both of his feet in the field of play, and go through a bitter court battle with the ball's previous owner
No running near the pool
Members of the coaching staff are not allowed to steal play call signals from the opposing team, nor are they allowed to dive and intercept kisses that were clearly blown toward someone else
Do not feed Torbo
In the event that an athlete dies on the field, the play will effectively be ruled as a "do-over" and his surviving family will be evenly distributed to the rest of his teammates upon the conclusion of the game
Touchdowns are now worth five points, uncanny impersonations of Jack Nicholson are worth eight
Linemen are not allowed to commandeer medical carts and plow through the other team unless they can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that their legs are really tired
The pregame coin toss has been replaced with a pregame discussion of Cormac McCarthy's The Road
Players must pay for any pumpkins they damage while running through Old Man Tarver's crop on the 30 yard line
When the ball is fumbled and like twenty guys are crammed in a pile fighting over it, ten points will be awarded if a player manages to sneak out with the ball and casually clean his fingertips while everyone keeps fighting
During night games, the points are doubled and the uniforms are skimpier
After 140 years of careful consideration, we have finally made our decision: All employees of the NFL are urged to vote for Ulysses S. Grant in the presidential election" -(http://www.somethingawful.com/d/news/nfl-rules-2009.php)

Hello, I'm colts9318rock from Stampede Blue. We are doing a mock draft of the first 2 rounds in this years NFL draft...................duh. Anyway, it would be awsome if you guys could give us some info on who you think the Steelers will take. Some of my close friends are Steelers fans and seem to believe that you could possibly take a WR, CB, or an go with somebody on the O-line. I dont know? Hell, some even say you could take a DE. If you would be so kind and comment it will be much appreciated! Colts9318rock out

Colts sign LB
I was going over the Colts roster when I found a name that I had never seen before. I guess we signed a LB by the name of Michael Okwo. He was a third round draft pick for the Bears in 2007. He is from Stanford where he recieved First Team all Pack 10 honors. He sat out the 2007 season for the Bears on IR. This could or could not be a great find..............

Jim Caldwell????
I was looking back at Caldwell's numbers at Wake Forrest when he was a head coach with them and found he had a 26-63 record. I know he has been the understudy of Dungy for 8 seasons, but how different is his coaching philosophy from Dungy's? This worries me more than anything. Usually when a new coach takes over with a different philosophy it takes time for a team to adjust to the new stile of coaching. Jim Caldwell is under alot of pressure to coach just like Dungy did and with such a low college coaching record. It might be 2 years until we see a stable Colts team adjusted to his stile of coaching. I pray to God that this does not result in loses next year. The last thing the Colts need is the media and fans critizing Jim Caldwell. But with that said, we Colts fans have to get use to hearing "This is Jim Caldwell's first year as a NFL coach" and "Is Jim Caldwell going to live up to Dungy's reputation?". I realy don't want to see "what would have Dungy done" on this site. God knows if all goes wrong we have Tom Moore to step in at any second if things get harry. All I'm trying to say is that I hope things go as smoothly as possible next year. Thanks for the memories Dungy. Oh Yah.............Fire Russ Purnell.
