Giants Sign Freddy Sanchez for two years
ChronLiveCSN RT @CSNBAYAREA: *******BREAKING Freddy Sanchez inks two-year deal with Giants http://tinyurl.com/yzl2r2t
The word is two more years but I can't see what the financial terms are. Good move? Your Thoughts? WHat would you like to see next? Dan Uggla at third? Jason Bay or Matt Holliday in left?
I think this is good news for the Giants. Provided he can stay healthy this solidifies the the 2 spot in the lineup so that we can go after more elsewhere.
My fake trade
Here it is:
Randy Winn and Henry Sosa, Pucetas, or Jesse English for Phil Hughes (Giants take on $2-3 mil of his contract)
1. This solves the Yankees CF problem and gives them a solid bat
2. Clears the way for Nate to take over RF
3. Clears a spot for a possible Dunn or Pat Burrell signing
Imagine a rotation of Lincecum, Cain, Sanchez, Hughes, Zito with MadBum and Alderson waiting in the wings?
Yes? No? Too much? Too little? Talk amongst yourselves
Hennessey signs with Orioles
Sad to see him go.....(sort of)

Just a minor league invite but he is no longer a Giant.
How do you get to 75 words on this thing? Just keep repeating your self over and over and over again?
No on Furcal, Yes on Tex!! No on Furcal, Yes on Tex!! No on Furcal, Yes on Tex!! No on Furcal, Yes on Tex!! No on Furcal, Yes on Tex!! No on Furcal, Yes on Tex!!
Giants touch base with Sabathia
Interesting to see this....

They also go on to say Furcal is their main target while Pablo Sandoval will be the choice to start at third rather than go after Joe Crede or Casey Blake. Also Sabean says that the Elias ranking will also be weighed to not lose a draft pick. I think the Giants may be better suited to go after Derek Lowe (in the type A catagory) or a Braden Looper/ Brad Penny type who can fill a need for not a lot of $$$. I personally like the idea of Casey Blake as a Giant. Do you like this course of action by Sabean? Your thoughts
Eric Brynes Available
Should the Giants and Brian Sabean consider this move? Brynes would be an awesome presence here in SF, he grew up here and everyone loves him. Although the injury bug has bitten him this season we will wait and see on how he will recover.

On a side note consider this as a trade option
Matt Cain for Prince Fielder and Rickie Weeks

Do you think we should give him a shot? He mat be a valuable right handed option at first and a pinch hitter late in games. He still has some power and a change of scenery may do him some good. Carney can work some magic and try to get him to hit like he did before. Is anyone still sad about not trading Sexson for Durham?
Ruben Gotay has been placed on Waivers. Another Option?
Mets put him on waivers.

Uribe a solution at SS. Maybe 3b?

He was let go for some reason but does anyone else think that he could be an option a SS until Omar gets back and then play on the merry go round of fun that is the 2008 Giants infield?
Here are his career stats

Velez for Crede?? (blog speculation)
http://www.southsidesox.com/story/2008/3/3/23124/34863
I don't know, I like Velez but I don't know if I like Crede enough to give up Velez for him.

It is always interesting to look through and see where players were ranked. The Giants had three starting pitchers in or around the top 30 (another at 64)and where are all of them right now? Also neat to see 19-year-old Miguel Cabrera and Hanley Ramirez on there. Most interesting a 24-year-old Chase Utley ranked #119.
Your thoughts...
Crede for Cain?????
The story speaks for itself.......... I am going to be all sorts of pissed if this goes.
