Ramon Sessions to sign an offer sheet with the Timberwolves?
According to some NBA officials, Sessions may wind up signing with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves are in the market for a guard after their top choice in the 2009 draft -- Ricky Rubio -- recently decided to play for Regal FC Barcelona.
Neither Sessions nor Chubby Wells, Sessions' agent, could be reached for comment Thursday night. Ditto for Timberwolves president David Kahn.
If Sessions does sign an offer sheet with the Timberwolves, the Bucks would have seven days in which to match it. That is highly unlikely, though.
David Andersen signing with the Hawks?
Accordingly to Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo (a reputable news outlet), David Andersen is finally joining the NBA and the Atlanta Hawks.
The Australian big man had a great season with Barcelona, in his first year in the Catalan club, culminating with the ACB championship and two great games in the Euroleague Final 4.
To sum it up briefly, the article states that Andersen can exercise a clause that allows him to walk to the NBA till the 15th July, that his dream was always to play for a NBA, that he's willing to play there for the same salary he earns in Europe (€2M), that the Hawks are interested on him to replace Zaza Pachulia, who's possibly leaving. His agent made no comments except to notice that Andersen's contract allows him to leave for the NBA without any payment.

According to two sources with knowledge of the situation, neither [Kurt] Rambis nor his representative has negotiated potential terms of an offer. And while the Kings appear poised to do so, those potential discussions might not occur until the series against Orlando ends. In the interim, fellow candidates Paul Westphal (former Phoenix and Seattle head coach) and Tom Thibodeau (Boston associate head coach) might be brought in for a second interview.
DX's Retrospectives: Rajon Rondo Profile
Very good article. A must read.
Wanna bid for Paul Pierce's Chewing Gum?
It's being auctioned on E-Bay. According to the seller:
The winner of this auction will receive the following items - The Gum, the sign that he tore the corner from, the actual game ticket, the game program, and the towels that were given to all the fans to wave around and stir up a frenzy.
This is a must have package for any Boston Celtics fan, Paul Pierce fan, or any other fan of strange and odd sports memorabilia. You could also use this to harvest DNA of one of the best pro basketball players in history, and use it to clone your own team of trigger happy small forwards.
If you like to collect Celtics memorabilia this is certainly an unique package.
Larry Legend to be given an honorary Doctor of Letters at Commencement at Boston University on Sunday
And gives an interview to BU Today.
It’s different characters out there, but they’re really the same teams. The Lakers have always been the Lakers, and the Celtics will always be the Celtics. And that’s not something we started in the ’80s — that happened in the ’50s and ’60s.
He also speaks about Boston and its teams, the age limit to enter the NBA, how he wants , what the loss of Garnett means, how good is LeBron James and some other stuff. Good reading.

And one thing I really despise is a front-runner, so I know for a fact that he's a master of panic, and when it gets time for his team to go in the postseason and do certain things, he will let them down because of his panic. I've been there before, I've played for him.
Randy Livingston to coach the Maine Red Claws?
Multiple sources have hinted Idaho assistant and NBA-vet Randy Livingston will be the first head coach of the Maine Red Claws. I've been pulling for Coach Liv for awhile, so this wouldn't come as a huge surprise.
Ridiculous Upside breaks the news.
Everyone, and with good reason, hates Celtics and their smug fans
Norman Chad hates the Celtics. I'm pretty sure that every time an article like this is written, Red lights another Hoyo De Monterrey Excalibur nº1 because he knows the Celtics are doing something well.

Lorbek makes All-Euroleague team
A newcomer to the defending champs, Lorbek ended the season leading all CSKA's scorers and rebounders while helping to nail down the team's seventh straight Final Four. He also got better as the season went along, earning March-April MVP honors for excellent during the Top 16 and the playoffs.
Giddens carries Flash to the D-League Finals
Boston Celtics rookie J.R. Giddens knocked down a game-high 25 points and added 9 rebounds and 2 assists to crash the Dakota Wizards and put the Utah Flash in the D-League Finals for the 1st time in the club history. The Flash host the 14ers in Game One on Wednesday night (can be watched via futurecast).

The Effect of Garnett - the (statistical-informed) perspective of a Bulls fan
A Blog-a-Bull fan post worth reading. Money quote:
I'd say the Celtics team we're about to play has a talent level similar to the Nuggets.
D-League Playoff: Giddens, Utah advance to the 2nd round
11 points, 8 assists, 3 assists, 3-9 FG from our boy JR Giddens.

Celtics’ title hopes rest on K.G.’s ailing knee
A good article from Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski on the KG situation.
Money quote:
"Only, Garnett hasn’t fought Rivers on it. K.G. was hurting the Celtics, and he knew it. He’s 32 years old and the credibility of a championship – the wisdom of his years – conspired to convince him that he had to heed the long picture. To be the tough guy, to play through the pain, benefits no one but LeBron James and the Cavaliers.
Garnett missed a month, tried to return and goes out again now. He has been so durable in his career, an elastic man and this thing must scare him.
It isn’t going away, and it isn’t getting better."

Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller dies at age 64
One of the best and most successful club owners in the history of the NBA and a great entrepreneur and philanthropist.
His impact on the league goes beyond the frontiers of Utah as Gregg Popovich modeled the Spurs after the Jazz - and half of the league has been trying to copy the Spurs.
It's a shame he never won a ring, it'd be well deserved. At the very least he owned a franchise that have been offering fun to basketball fans for almost 2 decades. His example of keeping Coach Sloan and getting out of the way of Frank Layden (and now Layden Jr.) is an example to many owners of the league, who are often too kick firing their coaches and executives.
Condolences to the people of Utah and to the Jazz organization.
Celtics in Financial Trouble?
NBA.com's David Aldridge published an interesting piece on the trade deadline and had this to say about the C's:
And I heard Thursday that the storied Celtics, they of the 17 championships and top-five in attendance, may nonetheless be one of the teams that partakes from the league's new $175 million line of credit, which SportsBusiness Journal reported this week would be used by half of the league's 30 teams to help pay existing and future bills.
The No-Stats All-Star
An interesting piece by Michael Lewis about Shane Battier, Celtics' former executive Darryl Morey and stats. A must-read.
Erden's finest moment
First day of Euroleague Top 16 and Semih Erden had a very good night, probably the best of his career at this level: 8 points (50%FG), 11 rbs, 2 ast, 2 stl, 1 blk. 0 turnovers and 20 index ranking points in 26 minutes versus the best team in Europe. Mind you that his team, in spite of playing at home, suffered a blow out, was already 18 pts behind by the middle of the 2nd quarter and CSKA's suffocating defence didn't allow them to score more than 48 points, but it was an encouraging night for the 7ft Turkish center, who, very surprisingly, has been some sings of promise recently.
