You can't blame Baron
First off Baron is not a traitor.
You can't blame Baron. The Warriors organization has been unassertive in bringing in caliber players for the longest time. If you look at the past year...After the playoffs where we lost to the Jazz, the Warrior's front office didn't acquire anyone that would lead us further for the following year. We knew the Jazz would be better with Derron Williams improving. We needed a big man or a center this year that would help carry the load for exhausted key players like Baron. Fast forward to the All-Star break, the Warriors stilll didn't trade anyone for an elite player that could help us in our playoff push. The Lakers were in the exact same position as we were, around 7th place, until they got Pau Gasol. Look what that did for them. The Warriors stayed exactly the same. Fast forward again to this week. The Warriors had a 9.9 million dollar trade exception that we didn't even use that expired on Monday. The only thing they did was offer Gilbert Arenas a max contract that we knew he wasn't going to accept anyways because the Wizards already signed Jamison and Arenas already made a public verbal agreement that he would take a pay-cut to keep the team together. Another thing, we didn't even attempt to trade up in this years supreme draft where we could have gotten someone awesome. Sigh, I can't see Nelson leading this team anywhere this year. He's not the type of coach that can begin "reconstruction" mode and he's not equipped to teach rookies either. Nelson also said he would allow time for the rookies at the expense of victories. You can't blame Baron for wanting out. Without another star type of player on the team he would have to play a lot of minutes. Minutes that would probably lead to another injury. As his agent I would have done the same thing. If he did decide to stay with the Warriors for one more year he knew that they wouldn't have enough money to sign anyone else besides Monta and Biedrins. He needed a long term future and he got it with the Clippers who are going to get Elton Brand back as well as Eric Gordon, Mobley, Kaman, and Thorton. They are going to be good. Offering Gilbert Arenas the max deal basically told Baron that he wasn't worth it and that he didn't mean anything to the franchise anymore (probably). Anyways, it's gonna be long season, maybe even a decade. At least the A's are doing well; whatever happened to the SaberCats? Oh well. Go Niners!
If the Warriors don't do anything for Baron, for what reason would Baron do anything for the Warriors? He's done memorable things for this franchise. Honestly, what did you think this next season was going to turn out like not acquiring an elite player?
