Romo to Injured Reserve
Romo's Season is Over.
The game against the deadskins is a must win.
The boys must win this game, bottom-line: they cannot let this game end in a loss.
Romo's affect on this team since his injury.
The victory over the colts was great, it always feels good to beat a veteran team in their stadium. The team came together and scraped out a victory. I was listening to some post game commentary from the cowboys post game show with brad sham and another with Norm Hitzges. I was a little suprised that a number of fans feel that Kitna has the team playing better now than when romo was under center; to imply that Kitna is behind the team's resurrgence. I know the people calling into a radio show only represent a small sample size of the fandom. But even on this site we have the question being raised: does this team respond better with Kitna?
Jason Garrett still working on the team's bad habits.
I remember when the news came that WP was fired, I was on my way to pick up my daughter from school and the news came over the radio. JG gets promoted, the team is in an unknown as to how it responds to the situation. JJ lays down his expectations and feelings about his decision to fire WP. The talk radio and TV stations in TX cover this and react to the news. One person's observation about the team in general stood out the most.

Where is Romo?
Lost in all this new found hope in a team trying to make a turn around of the season is where is Romo? Romo has yet to issue a statement or call a sports radio show and just give a generic statement. Two different media sources have asked this question, the first was Ed Werder, but we know Ed and you always have to wonder what his angle is when he asks a question like this. The second source may surprise you, it is from the writers at the Dallas Cowboys website: Nick Eatman and Josh Ellis.
Jason Garrett pulled a "tin-cup" psyche out on the boys.
Jason Garrett was called in by Jerry to be the new captain of the ship, no one outside the offense was familar with him. We all saw a two headed coach with one having more authority than the other (WP) but two seperate territories offense and defense. Dallas has shown to be a team that does not fare well when confronted with adversity (Romo's injury, a missed FG, etc). The team started to fully take on the personality of WP and did not seem to have a contigency plan when things go wrong.

Well, well, well look what we have here.
If anyone is looking at the skins vs buff game, the skins are having a good ole time against their once vanquished superbowl foe. Take a look at the comments on the open game thread, comments that seem to be showing some signs of life. They look like are ready for week one, right now.
Should we even bother with this?

Miles Austin had a plan when he was going out with Kim Kardashian
Miles is a true team player, he is using his looks and charm to bag a woman that seems to have the key to granting a championship year. Miles knew he had the ability and kept Tony from having to secure a lesser kardashian.
It looks like Atogwe will be a FA on June 1, dallas could be interested if they are not satisfied with Ball and company.
The local media and some national media are coming to the concensus that dallas will look to add a veteran safety because they believe the FO is not confident that Ball can handle the spot. I do not know if dallas will get a FS during the offseason, but does anyone here think that they will try? Based off of what I have read from Turf show times (the rams SB nation site) they feel that he will not be coming back to the team. Would he be a good fit for this team?

The second link talks about the overriding concern from Campo and WP over his size and if he is going to be able to last the entire season.

Bye-dawk thread at hogs haven
The comments are hilarious!!!!!
*Updated* A interesting piece from Football Outsiders about the Identity of the Boys Offense
A lot of talk goes on about the boys identity on offense and how they struggle because they do not have an identity. Some of us here are not sure of what that Identity is either. Well this article brings in some perspective to what the identity of the offense is and how it works. So take a look and share your thoughts on whether you think it this is a fair representation.
*Updated* The "vanilla" argument is complete BS!!!!
I have several things I want to say about this game. I really think this win is even higher than the NO game, the team they beat has a history of finishing the season strong; and dallas was more physical than the iggles. I think that must chafe the iggles fans a little bit because it was not just the iggles shooting themselves in the foot; as Raf put it they ate their cupcakes, and their lunch today.
*Update*
I will say one thing for this next game, Joe D needs to show the post game stuff to the boys and say see the think you will fail this week; it is impossible for you guys to beat the iggles 3 weeks in a row. That should give them a small edge to want to play even harder and make sure they take the iggles down this saturday.

I couldn't help myself so I posting this just for kicks
I know this sounds silly but I cannot but help but think of this scene from Excalibur
This is the game of the year for this team and not because it is december.
Dallas is now in the second part of the season, the part of the season where they must want to roll their eyes a the media because they are ramming "december" like a tent stake into every interview they do with each player. We and the team knew this was coming, and the reaction I have had to this is more of an in difference I just feel at peace with the position the cowboys have put themselves in. I am happy they have an 8-3 record, I could not have predicted what their record was going to be after thanksgiving but with at least a one game lead in the NFC East division. Dallas is in a much better position at this point in the season this year as opposed to last year; health wise and on the record. Now comes the 1st big test to this team.
RIP 2009 Texans Playoff Hopes:
Texans do what they do and choked against the colts with after a dominant 1st half. Dallas may have been known as a 55 minute team but the texans take their ineptitude to a higher level; they are a 1/2 team they only have a good 1st half or 2nd half but never both in the same game.
I just had to post this, I am glad they lost and this should end their playoff hopes; they can hope to finish 8-8 but I am pulling for 7-9.
Suck on it Cowlishaw, dallas will have a better record than the Tex-anns!!!!
Sheli has developed a new injury
I say dallas needs to put 8 in the box and blitz to make sheli pass and feel the pressure.
I would like to extend a sincere thank you to Bill Belicheat
Thank you Bill
If it wasn't for your decision on 4&2 in last night's game; the result was a failed conversion and it has become sports talk radio gold. I did not see dallas dominating the headlines on the national level, for once after a cowboys loss it was not front page news. Even the local media is not making too much hoopla over the game, the standard ones are out there but I remember the loss to NY and Den being bigger news; I know we do not venture outside of our blog here too often but it was a nice suprise.
Ellis Hobbs is done for the season.
FYI Ellis Hobbs just went on the IR for the iggles, this explains why they signed a CB from somewhere else.
Looks like the iggles are getting some tough love from the msm
The site we love to hate sometimes because of their Ed Turder tendencies to stir the pot have turned their attention to the iggles; it has been a good week.
Great Deadskin spoof
After watching the iggles vs skins monday night game I agree that the skins should have yakety sax (from the Benny Hill Show) playing when they are on offense and special teams. That 4th and goal fumbled snap was unreal; I had never seen a center/qb exchange done like that. It was like a direct snap under center is what came out when the Qb was in shotgun.
Oh the sweet irony of the two games dallas and the gints had.
Well, I am on vacation right now and am now just getting to a computer to visit the BTB site and see what has been posted. I barely caught any of the game, and little bit more of the gints game tonight. I do have one very noticible similarity between the ny vs. dal game and the cards vs. ny game. Both home teams lost a close game but gave up over 3 turnovers by their qbs. Eli looked like the old sheli, when pressed and against a banged up secondary in the 2nd half he had no one to turn to and could not make it happen. The irony is too sweet not to mention how dallas and the gints are both suseptable to imploding a home game; good coaching or soft coaching be darned.
By no means am I under the impression that dallas is out of the woods, but I believe that they can keep things in perspective as a team and just go each week one game at a time, one game with a one play at a time they will win quite a few close games and maybe even win like they did today.
Some new drama to take attention away from the boys
I could not believe the story when I saw it but my initial reaction was WOW. Either he was definitely taking a shot at he owner who said that Fisher's job is not safe after this season. Then Fisher shows up at function to honor Tony Dungy and he is wearing a Peyton Manning Jersey and says, "I just wanted to feel like a winner". The event is either a bad joke gone horribly wrong or he is taking a jab back at the owner. Judging by the Titans SBnaton site it has set off a fanbase that is very confused right now.

Back at practice today Miles getting the 1st team reps
It has been reported that Miles received the 1st team reps in practice today. It has not been anounced and with the way things have been done on this team there will be no real announcement. PC is mum on the decision, stating that he does not want to say anything wrong.
