I know this sounds silly but I cannot but help but think of this scene from Excalibur

The win dallas had to day could be the start of the team believing in itself and the belief that they can make important plays in important games to be a good team and make it to the playoffs. Dallas must remember what it did to get itself ready to face the aints and do the exact same process they used for that game. Both of the division opponents left for dallas to face are both going to be extra motivated to see dallas fail and want to have a hand in making sure that they are successful. The one advantage dallas will have next week is that they will have two whole days rest over the skins because they play on monday and dallas played on saturday.

The link below is the scene I was talking about from Excalibur; the part starts around the :45 sec mark. The speech merlin gives stresses the importance of remembering that the moment was important it was a unifying experience and they should always remember this moment. Dallas would be served well if they could follow the context of the speech and remember what it takes to win tough games; because from here on out it is going to be a slobber-knocker every week.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaDo9PyCeLQ&feature=related

This is the game of the year for this team and not because it is december.

Dallas is now in the second part of the season, the part of the season where they must want to roll their eyes a the media because they are ramming "december" like a tent stake into every interview they do with each player. We and the team knew this was coming, and the reaction I have had to this is more of an in difference I just feel at peace with the position the cowboys have put themselves in. I am happy they have an 8-3 record, I could not have predicted what their record was going to be after thanksgiving but with at least a one game lead in the NFC East division. Dallas is in a much better position at this point in the season this year as opposed to last year; health wise and on the record. Now comes the 1st big test to this team.

The game this week is very much like the GB game in week 10, a team that was at home had a bad loss to a team they should have put away and needed a win to just stay in the competetive WC race. Dallas was coming off a 4 game win streak and came out and did not play to the best of their ability and for lack of a better word they looked "inconsistent". NY is even more dire straits, they are not just coming off a bad loss but they have lost the last 5 out of 6 games; they have big questions one every area of their team, except maybe ST compared to the others. The giants look like a cornered animal, possibly wounded and is ready to fight to the end to stay alive not just for the WC but for their season. Can anyone expect the giants to reel off 4 straight wins if they cannot win this game at home when they have to have a win; they have to know that they will not do this if they lose. The season hangs in the balance for the giants; the giants season can be directly influenced by the cowboys.

It is an opportunity that the boys cannot let slip through their fingers, a number of them realize how important this game is and what it means if they win. Dallas needs to come out and not give the giants an inch, take the lead and that is the best way to take some of the fight out of them early in the game. Dallas needs to keep one trend going for the giants that they have had for some time: the giants have had a terrible time scoring in the 3rd quarter. Dallas must not let the giants turn that trend around, it will help stem any 2nd half surge they may try to establish to either to add to a lead or to come back from a deficit. Dallas would also benefit from making sure the giants know what they will face should they manage to win 4 games and face them again, but in dallas an let them know it won't be like week 2 it will be like week 13.

GO COWBOYS!!!!!!

RIP 2009 Texans Playoff Hopes:

Texans do what they do and choked against the colts with after a dominant 1st half. Dallas may have been known as a 55 minute team but the texans take their ineptitude to a higher level; they are a 1/2 team they only have a good 1st half or 2nd half but never both in the same game.

I just had to post this, I am glad they lost and this should end their playoff hopes; they can hope to finish 8-8 but I am pulling for 7-9.

Suck on it Cowlishaw, dallas will have a better record than the Tex-anns!!!!

Thank you Bill

If it wasn't for your decision on 4&2 in last night's game; the result was a failed conversion and it has become sports talk radio gold. I did not see dallas dominating the headlines on the national level, for once after a cowboys loss it was not front page news. Even the local media is not making too much hoopla over the game, the standard ones are out there but I remember the loss to NY and Den being bigger news; I know we do not venture outside of our blog here too often but it was a nice suprise.

After watching the iggles vs skins monday night game I agree that the skins should have yakety sax (from the Benny Hill Show) playing when they are on offense and special teams. That 4th and goal fumbled snap was unreal; I had never seen a center/qb exchange done like that. It was like a direct snap under center is what came out when the Qb was in shotgun.
