Cubs Attendance Predicted to Increase
Maury Brown, President of Business of Sports Network is predicting attendance for MLB will increase 5%-8% and includes a Cubs increase as one of the reasons.
If you're not already following him on twitter (@BizballMaury), I definitely recommend doing so as he is a great source of information.
Len & Bob ranked 6th best TV Broadcast Team by Fangraphs
Fangraphs ranked all of the MLB TV broadcast teams and Len & Bob were ranked 6th. I found this quite interesting and encourage everyone to read the entire list from 31-1.

ATTN: AT&T DSL & U-Verse customers with MLB.TV
Looks like AT&T is implementing a data cap for both DSL and U-Verse customer. If you have MLB.TV, I bet you'll be affected.
Personally, I think it's pretty crappy of a company to sell you something they tell you is unlimited and then impose a limit after they have hooked you as a customer.

Cubs considering Judd Sirott to be radio co-host
Dear Santa,
Please let this not be true. I depend on the radio and cubs.com to listen to day games at work. I literally switch to the opposing feed for the 5th inning or just keep an eye on gameday. I could not take an entire game of Judd Sirott's screaming and non-analysis.
I promise to remember to leave you cookies and egg nog if you will just leave a real radio partner under the Cubs Christmas tree.
Love,

White Sox could be part of new FM sports talk station
Could the Cubs also create their own radio station when their deal is up with WGN radio? There's been a lot of talk about the Cubs creating their own TV network when their TV deal is up but what about their own radio station after their deal with WGN radio is up?
Twitter becomes a big player in baseball
I saw this story linked from MLB Trade Rumors and thought it was interesting. I'm a big fan of Twitter and its pretty interesting a forum such as Twitter can have such an impact in a short amount of time.
I wonder what will be the "next big thing" that will impact how information is spread and discussed.
Theriot Live in Studio on Sports Central
WGN Radio tweeted that Riot will be live in-studio with Kap on Sports Central along with Mrs. Riot, Jonna at 7:10 PM.
Rawlings Makes Safer Batting Helmet
This is great news! Hopefully, players can be convinced to wear the helmets.
I love David Wright's quote, "I’m not worried about style or looking good out there. I’m worried about keeping my melon protected." Smart man.
Japanese team used Dice-K's posting fee for plush potties
Since things have gotten a little heated on the site the last couple of days, I thought everyone could use a good laugh.
Apparently, the Seibu Lions used much of the $51 million posting fee they received from the Red Sox to improve their stadium, once one of the worst in Japan. Now they have some of the nicest bathrooms in the country and apparently that is important in Japan. Wonder what they think of the bathrooms at Wrigley when Japanese tourists come to see Fukudome?
Say, to raise money to renovate Wrigley, who do you propose the Cubs "post" to a Japanese team?
Chien-Ming Wang will start against Cubs on 4/3

Juan Uribe signs minor league deal with Giants
Looks like Juan Uribe is off the market, he singed a minor league deal with the Giants.
Wrigley North (Milwaukee) Ticket Lottery
If anyone is planning on buying tickets for Cubs vs Brewers games, Milwaukee is offering a lottery for opening day (vs Cubs) and "Marquee games" which includes both Cub and White Sox dates.
The lottery allows fans who "win" to purchase tickets for these select dates before all of the single game tickets go on sale.
You can register until Feb. 17th. The drawing will be on Feb 20th (my B-Day) and emails will be sent out by Feb. 23rd notifying anyone entering the lottery.
The date and time the tickets will be on sale for lottery winners will be included in the email sent to the "winners."
Soriano rated best left field arm in 2008
Soriano was rated as having the best left field arm in MLB in 2008.
I thought this was a very interesting article measuring the arms of MLB outfielders.
Troy Glaus out 12 weeks after shoulder surgery
How does this change the NL Central race and the ability of the Cardinals to contend?
Free agency after 4 years?
Bruce Miles mentioned an interesting idea at the end of his blog today.
"LINK":http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/1267
He suggested doing away with the arbitration process and have players become free agents after 4 years. I haven't heard this suggestion before and I am intrigued.
What's in it for the owners? The free agent pool would be larger, thus the possibility of driving down the price (supply and demand theory, I imagine).
What's in it for the players? They would get to cash in on a long term contract 2 years earlier.
I was wondering everyone's thoughts on Bruce's suggestion.
Also, does anyone else have any creative suggestions? Remember to have any chance of being implemented; both sides (players and owners) would have to benefit from the change.
