Kugbila to undergo spinal surgery this week

2

How does one crack the spinal CORD? The vertebral COLUMN I could understand, but "cracking" a CORD is more than a bit confusing. I fully understand that some matters are personal between a man and his doctor. What is contained and released in this article makes no sense. If my education is incomplete, someone please direct me. I don't mind learning.

Gaffney out for season

3

He seems to have torn the lateral meniscus in his left knee and will miss the rest of the season. Can anyone provide information on this type of injury?

Who's this "CARSON" in the secondary?

3

At least they corrected his FIRST name. Earlier, they insisted on calling him "Antonio". Wish I had screen-shotted that one. A "Caisson", which may be the origin of his surname, is a deep foundation, also called a caisson foundation. It's often made of timber, steel or concrete. The Panther's secondary needs one.

114 year old linebacker?

2

I was rosterbating and stumbled over this fella the Panthers signed. Kinda wondering why the Cats gave a two year contract to a 114 year old linebacker!

Blue Cleats Month

+

McDonald and the Panthers staff did exactly the right thing. Prompt action saves lives. Perhaps the Panthers could schedule a month wearing BLUE CLEATS to raise awareness of men's cancers (testicular/prostate) this season. Good to see this attended quickly.

Cam & Young Fan

+

Look at the photos & TRY to decide who is having more fun!

Gettleman KNEW this was gonna happen!

+

He "Getts" rid of players before they "Gett" hurt! It's "Getting" creepy!

Just sayin', "Has ANYONE ever seen 'em both in the same room?"

2

Handful of links and photos. Hay, I don't wanna start a Michael/Latoya rumor, but if Clark Kent can pull off the eyeglass disguise ... http://s3.amazonaws.com/newscloud-production/newscloudcms/2014/05/537c51897e85e80bde006d33/photos/cam6127780/gallery.jpg?1400656352 AND http://img.ccrd.clearchannel.com/media/mlib/13133/2014/04/210x210/kelvin_benjamin_0_1398879284.jpg Then http://a.espncdn.com/media/motion/2013/0529/dm_130529_griner_fake_screen_grab_change/dm_130529_griner_fake_screen_grab_change.jpg AND http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/Rp7U-wWiAIw/0.jpg

Best move/worst move

+

Ya havta double click the link to get to Pittsburgh’s worst move but it IS important for the Panthers.

"LONG" Term Planning!

1

One of the tryout players is LB Alex Means who played for Air Force. He'll have a 3-5 year obligation in the Military before he can play for the Panthers. As many of us have mentioned, Gettleman takes the long view and plans for the future! Good luck Alex!

Not a "contract" ... exactly.

1

Looks like they gave him an advance to get him into camp for OTA's. This sort of thing generates a LOT of good will between parties.

Panthers add CFL sack leader.

2

While you can never have "too many" pass rushers, this signing is confusing. The guy has played for FOUR NFL teams and TWO CFL teams. Granted the talent level is different, but SIXTEEN SACKS has to get your attention. The guy's 28years old and he was Cleveland's 7th round pick in 2008. Perhaps the light came on in Winnipeg.

Mike Tolbert TOP rated fullback!

+

Gotta scroll through the slide show, but worth it!

D-Will/Marshawn Lynch Football camp in Brazil?

+

VERY short clip, but looks like both backs are having a GREAT time! The locals seem bewildered, but are enjoyed the spirit of competition and the camaraderie. Is THIS the Jaguars new home?

It's NOT $90 mil per YEAR ... stupid.

3

Needs to do his homework. This is what happens when people go to "Jernalism Skole" and don't run their copy past editors and proofreaders. I am NOT Pepper's biggest fan, but this article is rank with errors.

"Quest for Respect"

+

Yeah, I KNOW it's early. I wanna be first to propose a mantra for the Panther's 2014 season. "Quest for Respect" It's time.

Let the roster-bating begin!

+

I noticed both of the tackles and guards signed are from small school programs … hmm. Casey Walker, DT Oklahoma Wait, WHAT? Didn’t the Panthers already cut him? At least twice?

Saints will miss additional prep day.

+

The Saints spent the night in Seattle because their jet wouldn't start. They were ALREADY looking at a short week after the Monday Night Game. Now they're missing Tuesday which will be spent (wasted) flying back to New Orleans. That gives 'em FOUR days vice the usual SIX to prep for essentially a division title game against the Panthers. WHO threw a wrench in the jet? This sounds like something the Patriots would do!

Jon Beason magically a MUCH better player in New York

7

I called this one! As soon as a player gets traded or drafted or signed by a New York team, he suddenly becomes "All World". This is why the Jets were so excited to pick up Otah. All props to Big Jon. Wish him the best, 'cept when he plays the Panthers. NOT sure I can trust the headlines.

Panthers LEAST penalized in NFC?

+

My never-ending quest to find SOMETHING positive: The Panthers have seven penalties, then the Bears have eight. "The correlation between "W’s" and walkoffs is suspect, however. The Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers (seven) and Minnesota Vikings (eight) are all 0-2."

Panthers ranked #11 by shutdown corner.

3

This is strongly based on the defensive showing during preseason. I don't think Strong Safety QM (I cannot spell his names!) was signed when this was posted. Don't turn your back on that roster! Changes will happen, particularly after Week One. If the Panthers pick up a decent O-Lineman and beat Seattle, the ranking may actually improve.

Someone take a hammer to "LockerPulse"!

+

The story is about RACE DRIVER, Tony Steward. The link was available in http://www.lockerpulse.com/NFL/Panthers/ Obviously when I saw "nfl/steward" and "rod-inserted" my "lockerpulse" stopped. Best wishes to Tony. If any of ya see Locker Pulse editors at Training Camp, give 'em a backhand smack for me!

What THE SAME WRITER thinks about THE SAME PLAYERS:

+

CHARLES EDWARDS (FEATURED COLUMNIST) at Bleacher report cannot seem to make up his mind. ON MAY 13, 2013 he wrote "Undrafted Rookies Making Noise in Secondary" http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1637330-the-five-biggest-takeaways-from-the-carolina-panthers-rookie-mini-camp/page/3 He commented "There is a lot to like about Lester..." and "He knows how to win ..." He followed that including nice comments about Melvin White: "Lester and White will be challenging veterans, and each of them has a strong chance at locking down a starting spot." So ... whyinthehell did he change his mind EIGHTEEN DAYS LATER and include both players in the "unranked" players who have no part of the Panthers FUTURE?! http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1653038-offseason-power-rankings-for-every-player-on-carolina-panthers-roster/page/2 MAY 31, 2013 Scroll down and you'll see "Melvin White, CB" & "Robert Lester, CB" nestled between "Doug Hogue, OLB" & "James Dockery, CB". Make Up Your Mind!

Confidence in Our Own Judgments

+

I fully realize that this is not DIRECTLY connected to the NFL draft. I do think it explains a bunch of the thinking going on. I hope CSR readers get the connection. Enjoy.

The Brian Banks Story continues ...

+

Bravo Atlanta for giving this guy a shot. It's been awhile since I've seen an innocent man treated this badly. I'll cheer for him every time he doesn't play against the Panthers. You might wanna fling a few $$ his way for the video he's producing about his story. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1681576010/the-brian-banks-story/comments I did.

Signing Giants receivers?

+

The Charlotte Observer (among others) seems to think the Panther's new GM will go after one or two of the Giants former receivers, in particular Ramses Barden. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2013/03/02/3889698/gm-dave-gettlemans-work-with-carolina.html#storylink=rss Barden ran a legit 4.4-4.45 in the combine and pro scout day 40's. Combine him with Lamont Bryant, who scouted at anywhere between 4.38 and 4.5, and Olsen in the red zone. All three are over 6'5" tall. That's almost unfair, assuming the two receivers can catch and hold the ball. That's sorta, kinda Ricky Proehl's job, but it might be fun to watch.

Hartsock: Panthers will miss Chud

2

Sounds like Hartsock wants to follow Derek Anderson to Cleveland.

Losing information somewhere!

2

It might just be me, but it seems that the amount of information available on profiles from SBNation has declined steadily this season. PRESEASON, the profiles would portray the player, height weight and career stats. It also included a GREAT scouting report on almost every player in the LEAGUE! Those were great for predicting matchups and comparing advantages of teams. When the season began, it dropped to ht, wt, and career stats. No scouting reports. This evening, it only shows the name and team. http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/108623/david-gettis#stories_tab I suppose we COULD ask for our money back. Oh, wait ... Still it is disturbing. Perhaps they are moving to a pay site and want us to miss out on info. Perhaps their webmaster went on strike. Perhaps my computer is just being obnoxious.

Long lost cousins?
