Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician Nerlens Noel to re-classify to 2012

http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=9&c=2&cid=1154998&nid=4293721&fhn=1

In a move that has been speculated since the beginning of the year, Nerlens Noel has decided to move from the class of 2013 to 2012. The news was first reported by ESPN.com.

By making the decision to move from the 2013 class to 2012, the five-star prospect now is in line to take over the top spot in the rankings. He was the No. 2 recruit in the country in 2013.

Recruiting wise Connecticut and Providence have been regular visitors to Noel's games. Along with those schools Kentucky, Syracuse, Florida, Georgetown, and North Carolina will all be contenders for Noel.

Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician Joe Lunardi high on Syracuse

Largely undeveloped entering the season, Melo has transformed into a defensive star for top-ranked Syracuse. He ranks among Big East leaders in blocks (2.9) and defensive rating (91.3), and has increased his scoring of late, netting double figures in wins over Seton Hall, DePaul and Providence. After a maddeningly inconsistent freshman campaign, he's finally shown signs of becoming the impact performer he was touted to be in high school.

The most telling sign of Melo's maturation is his playing time. The 7-foot Brazilian averaged 9.9 minutes last year, playing 20 just twice in 33 appearances. This season, he's played 20 minutes in 13 of 17 games, and -- though raw -- has wowed scouts with his commitment to conditioning.

"He just couldn't play extended minutes last year," a scout said. "He seemed to get tired and I don't think Jimmy [Boeheim] trusted him in the game. Now, he's lost a significant amount of weight and is much more active and blocking shots. It tells us something about him. He was willing to work and it's really helped him."

He's currently losing to Calipari, so make sure to cast your vote for Jim. It's for a good cause :)

Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician Time for some positivity!

With all the list adding we've done lately, I thought we could use a little more positivity around here and I'd start a list of college basketball analysts that support SU and defend that we are the #1 team in the nation. This is the list of people who have become part of the Ottoman empire and have the support of SU nation. Feel free to add to it.

Someone on Twitter suggested that the Orange’s second five be ranked as the second best team in the Big East. It’s not crazy, considering the bench accounted for 41 of Syracuse’s 78 points against Providence.

Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician Dana O'Neal's ESPN chat - claims she's been supportive of SU

Dana fielded some questions about Syracuse today. I really advice you read the last two questions. Jeff's question had me laughing out loud. See if you can notice a theme throughout all her responses though.

Kari (Rochester)

Do you think Syracuse deserves the #1 ranking and how long do you see them hanging onto it?

Dana O'Neal (2:17 PM)

Kari: I have no problem with Syracuse being No. 1, even if some say it's by attrition. I will say, however, they have to leave the state of NY to really earn it. Not sure if they win at NC State on Saturday, honestly.

Jon (Norwalk, CT)

Hi Dana, give me the title chances of the following teams:KentuckyUNCOhio StateSyracuseUconnBaylorOther

Dana O'Neal (2:25 PM)

Jon: Still think the first three are likely contenders. After that becomes a smorgasbord. All the teams you mentioned have a good shot. I've been throwing Missouri in lately, wondering if they might be the surprise team of the year. Need a little more consistency out of UConn. Syracuse needs to get out of New York.

Ian (Washington, DC)

"I have no problem with Syracuse being No. 1." But we know you have a problem with Syracuse. Besides playing a majority of their games in their home state, what are your other issues with Syracuse?

Dana O'Neal (2:37 PM)

Ian: Um, none that I'm aware of. I've been pretty supportive of the team, so far as I know. Have defended Scoop. Said their defense has been terrific. Need a more consistent scorer. And need to leave the state.

Jon (NY)

Why do all of the ESPN experts think Syracuse will lose against Marquette? Marquette hasn't proved anything more than Cuse has this year.

Dana O'Neal (2:49 PM)

Jon: Not saying they will beat Cuse, but Marquette has a decent resume - beat rival (and ranked) Wisconsin on the road. Beat Washington in NYC. Think Marquette is constantly underappreciated.

Jeff (NY)

Marquette beating Wisconsin doesn't count, they didn't leave the state.

Dana O'Neal (2:56 PM)

Jeff: Touche.

Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician Joe Lunardi not a Scoop Jardine fan

Jerry Marlow (Syracuse, NY)

Good Afternoon Joe: Is S.U. a final four team next year?

Joe Lunardi (2:17 PM)

On the list of contenders, Jerry, that's for sure. I think I'd like them more if Scoop was graduating.

Melo (Weston, Fla./The Sagemont School), a Syracuse recruit, was the only traditional center in this game. He is ready to be an impact college center, and that fact has a lot to do with his commitment to conditioning. Melo is running the court better, and he's more bouncy. Last year at this time, if he didn't get the board in his first jump, his second jump wasn't high or explosive. Now he's blocking shots and running the floor to finish fast breaks. He looks great.

Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician Josh Selby

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/basketball/mens/news/story?id=4664532

Does anyone know how serious his consideration of Syracuse is?  I'd love to see him pick SU, but it seems unlikely considering all the competition we'll have at the Guard spot next year: Triche, Jardine, Waiters.

And how the hell does Calipari recruit all these guys?  It seems like every top ranked guy has Kentucky as one of their options.

Bob Knight declares, "The Syracuse zone is the most difficult defense to play against in college basketball today."

Also, listen to the shot he takes @ Washington at the end of the clip lol
