Ill be the first to say I did not like the Byrd pick. To me, at the time, it did not fill a draft need. We were set at the FS and SS positions and it seemed like we had bigger problems (like the O-line) than at CB/FS. There is no doubt that Byrd has not only impressed Bills fans but also has impressed the rest of the league. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite players and love how is referred to as "the byrd man."

Since Byrd is the only one that seems to have a shot at making the pro bowl from this team I wanted to do a little ballot of who thinks he will make it and who doesn't. Also, If any of you think any other players might make it, just put it down on the comments. I'll post Byrds stats below versus two other potential candidates. Thanks for your replies!

You would think Jacksonville would move before Buffalo.

I found it extremely funny to watch a 5-4 team probably fill only 40% of their seats. Did anyone else notice that. They even had one section behind the endzone sealed off (with a Jaguar logo) to probably help sell the games out. I wonder how much tickets are?

You would have to think if any team is moving it would have to be Jacksonville. I don't even think they sold out their home opener. Buffalo has great fans and I think we should give ourselves a pat on the back. We support this team like no other (maybe Green Bay) even through the toughest of times. We are due for a good season soon, and hopefully with a new coach its within the next couple years. I'd bet we see the Ralph almost full this Sunday and we are 3-7. It was funny to see a playoff caliber team (wildcard perhaps) not even come close to selling out their stadium when their team was 5-4.

Why did they even put a Franchise in Jacksonville? You think they could of done a little more research before establishing a team with no fan base or willingness to watch NFL football. This team is usually pretty solid and its a shame that they cannot sell out their games.

With the new stadium opening up in L.A, you would have to think Jacksonville would be their number one option for relocation. Any guy with business sense that buys the team after Ralph dies will realize Buffalo is a cash cow. We sell out every year with horrible football teams and horrible games to watch. Just think if this team made the playoffs, the city would go crazy! I believe once the new owner looks at the records, he will quickly realize it will be a better investment to keep Buffalo in Buffalo. It would cost him an extra fortune just to move the team (due to relocation fees and perhaps a new stadium). His real priority should be making this team good again. Then he can still sell out all the games at slightly higher prices. IMO, I don't see Buffalo moving, mainly because of us and how well we support our team. So keep it up Bills fans!

My buddy posted this on twobillsdrive and I thought I'd share the clip. We were both huge Orakpo fans and still are and cannot believe the bills past on him. Well here is a pretty sweet clip of him literally picking up a 300+ lb O-tackle. This guy is an animal and it too bad the Bills FO doesn't know how to analyze talent. Although my point is to not start an Orakpo vs Maybin thread entirely, it is inevitably going to happen. My buddy and I are just trying to point out how Maybin lacks the strength to even come close to executing a bull rush.

Maybin needs to put on at least 30 lbs of solid muscle if he ever hopes to execute a bull rush in the NFL. This clip is a perfect example of a Bull Rush and how to literally drive your man into the backfield. Hopefully Maybin can one day be a stud like this guy. (I believe Orakpo had 2 sacks yesterday). I'll just keep waiting for Maybin to "develop" while I watch this stud wishing he was a Bill.

Fixing This Team Starts in the Trenches

So I really enjoyed Brian's recent article that dealt with who are the "cornerstone" players of the Bills and began thinking harder while in my tree stand bow hunting this morning. I was thinking, what would be considered the "cornerstone positions," and do the Bills have any of those players and have they addressed any of those positions in the past. After thinking, I came to the conclusion that the offensive and defensive lines are most important followed by the Quarterback position. Over the last 10 dreadful years the Bills have not had any of these three cornerstone positions filled with extreme talent or should I just say solid talent. We have gone through a slew of bad Quarterbacks and spent a lot on under achieving lineman. After the jump I am going to go a little deeper and explain mainly the offensive line woes and touch upon the other two "cornerstone" positions and what I think are the Bills most pressing needs at this point. To this point, I think we can say we are very solid in the defensive backfield; having a lot of young talent and very solid starters for the foreseeable future. Our Running back crew seems to also be solid with Lynch and Jackson. And lastly, in my opinion our wide receiver corps is pretty solid. I think Hardy will soon transition nicely and eventually complement Evans. So that leaves us with pressing needs at the defensive line, Linebackers, Quarterbacks and Tight ends. Three out of those five which are pressing needs are what I consider the cornerstone positions of a franchise and the Bills have been missing those players for some time now.

**********************************************

Most Pressing Need:

#1

Offensive line: Dick Jauron has officially taken the blame for his decision to go with an extremely young line this year. He traded franchise LT Jason Peters, Cut OG Derrick Dockery and OT Langston Walker, and in my opinion, these cuts/trades will cost him his job this year. For anyone who expected this team to go far this year with this young line was extremely optimistic (My prediction was 4-12 at the beginning of the season by the way). I next want to talk about Levy as the old GM. Many people mocked Levy for what he did and blame him for our present woes. I don't think Marv made the wrong moves (positional wise), I just think he was obtaining players that were considered good that were unfortunately not so great. As we know Marv knows football and he showed it by making big splashes in the free agent period, signing the top rated OG Derrick Dockery for 60+ million and proven starter RT Langston Walker for 25 million. Marv's strategy was right on here; he was trying to rebuild this team through the offensive line, by signing what was thought to be the top lineman of that current year. Unfortunately for Marv, both players turned out to be under achievers and way overpaid. I still think we would love Walker at right tackle now though. Bottom line, Marv tried the right way "logically" to fix this team, he just missed out because the talent wasn't there in the free agent market. I am going to do a brief dissection of the current/future Offensive line and provide future solutions (player wise). I will neglect the draft since I am not 100% familiar with all the current prospects and where they will fall at this point (too early). Therefore, I will look at the free agent pool more.

Left Tackle: D. Bell- Has showed that he can play well at times and bad at others. He can be dominated, but we have seen him play well at times.

Future: D. Bell has showed me that he can be a dependable back-up in this league. He has the athleticism to maybe one day be a solid starter. But as of now, we need an upgrade. For you D. Bell fans out there, I still think this guy could one day be a potential starter. The Bills can develop him behind a proven starter.

Best Free Agent Selection at This Point: Marcus McNeil, San Diego (25 years of age). With McNeil you get a proven starter who is maybe a tad overrated but still a dependable every down starter. He is still very young which is a plus. By the way, the Chargers have almost everyone on their roster to be resigned so you can expect some of them to be free agents. The Chargers have a good front office, and I believe they will probably retain McNeil, probably making top priority over Merriman. At this point McNeil seems to be the best option as of now.

********************

Left Guard: Andy Levitre- I think Levitre is having a solid rookie season. He isn't great, but he isn't bad. He has shown he can be a dependable guy who's future looks bright.

Future: Levitre looks to be a future starter for this team. I like his demeanor on the field and his smarts. He will develop into a solid starter for years to come.

********************

Center: Geoff Hangartner- I haven't been entirely impressed with Geoff. He seems to be on and off. Overall he is better than Melvin Fowler and Duke Preston but still isn't a solid starter. This goes to prove how bad the Bills front office is. They make a back-up center their absolute top priority in free agency. They are right on with the position as being a priority, but fail to obtain anyone with solid starting talent.

Future: I believe like Bell, Geoff is just not starting material. He plays alright at times, but he isn't great. I really see Wood being the best option at manning the center position in future years- see next breakdown.

********************

Right Guard: Eric Wood- Wood is quickly becoming one of my favorite Bills. He plays with a absolute mean streak, he is always fighting until the whistle blows and he often starts confrontations with opposing players simply because he doesn't give up on a play. He hasn't been amazing, but he has shown that he has the ability to be dominant in the future, something his other 1st round choice has failed to do thus far.

Future: Wood will simply be a stud in this league, there is no doubt in my mind. I do see him maybe switching to center if Geoff doesn't pan out. If he does move, the Bills will need to find a new starting guard. Here is a suggestion.

Best Free Agent Selection at This Point: Jahri Evans, Right Guard, New Orleans (age 26)- Evans has been a stud and is regarded as one of the best players at his position. He was drafted in the 4th round of the 2006 draft and has allowed very few sacks. Good lineman, give Q.B's more time to throw and running backs more holes to run through, Hence New Orleans offensive production this year. Evans will probably be retained, but another viable option is Logan Mankins, New England Patriots. 26 years of age.

*********************

Right Tackle: Who ever isn't hurt? This is probably the position that is killing us the most on the offensive line, especially when Chambers enters the game- see the Miami game. All of our options are back-up's in this league. I would honestly love Langston Walker. The guy said he couldn't play Left Tackle, they moved him to left and guess what? He couldn't do it. Walker allowed "NO" sacks (I pretty sure on this so don't quote me, but it wasn't many if he did allow some) last season at right tackle. Why get rid of a solid starting Right tackle? It's because Dick is clueless. He should have realized Walker couldn't play Left Tackle and just kept him at his original position. He was solid, why try to change him?

Best Free Agent Selection at This Point: Maybe Winston Justice, Eagles (24 years of age)? Justice started out pretty poorly when he first entered the league as a second rounder. He is becoming more and more dependable as he plays more. I am not saying he is the absolute best thing out there, but from what I can find, he seems like an alright choice this early in the game.

Well, thats my short breakdown, sorry if you disagree or find this completely crazy in regards to the offensive line. I just really think the Offensive line is where this team needs to start building around if they want to be competitive. Good teams like Eagles and the Patriots prove it every year. Their QB's have all day to throw and their running backs have huge holes.

*T.O side track* since it coincides with my offensive line point-

For all you T.O haters out there who want to run him out of town and are calling him a bust; let me ask you, are you serious? If you have no line, no time to throw, and no Q.B, how is the guy going to flourish? He can't throw himself the ball, or can he? If you're going to hit me with the "drop" thing, you knew that when we got him. You knew he dropped about as many balls as he scored TD's. I would like to see him in B-Lo with a new coach and revamped Offensive line next year. I honestly am starting to feel bad for this guy, he can't do nothing right, even if he keeps his mouth shut.

*Lynch side track* since it coincides with my offensive line point-

For all you Lynch haters out there that say "he dances too much," let me ask you, are you serious? He dances because he has no holes to run through. He is always looking for a small crack to hit. He usually gets to the line, where there is no hole and runs with 8 guys surrounding him and carries them for 2-3 yards and half the time doesn't hit the floor because no one can bring him to the ground. Trust me, my season tickets are in the "rock pile" which is about corner endzone 15 rows up, I can see that there are no holes for Freddy or Lynch to run through, especially when they are backed up against our goaline. If you are going to tell be how come Freddy ran so well the first couple games? it is a simple answer. Somehow this line blocked extremely well then, especially in New England. There was huge holes versus new england, and the play calling was excellent. I don't know whether it was Monday Night Football or what, but thats probably the best you'll see this unit ever block. And for Tampa, well, its Tampa.

*********************

Most Pressing Need:

#2

Quarterback: I skip over the defensive line and address Q.B second because I simply think overall, our Defensive line is better than our Quarterbacks. Unfortunately for Trent, he has not progressed. I really wanted both him and Losman to be good, but the fact is, they're not. I would like to see how Trent finishes the year and then make decision. As of now, there are no solid options at Q.B in free agency in my opinion. Kyle orton will probably be resigned, and I really don't think he is that good anyways. He is more of a game manager than a playmaker. Drafting a Q.B seems to be logical, especially if we have a high, high pick. Unfortunately, I am not thrilled about any Q.B in this draft. My favorite is probably Locker right now out of Washington. This is going to be a tough decision this offseason. Something obviously needs to be done hear, because we haven't had someone since Jim. And, unfortunately for Trent, new coaches usually means new Q.B's. I am not a Trent Fan at all, but would like to see him with a good line and coaching staff before I totally canned him.

Best Free Agent: Kyle Orton

Best in Draft: IMO, Bradford/Locker

Most Pressing Need:

#3

Outside Linebacker: So I just skipped over the D-line again, even though I considered those positions as "cornerstone" positions. Why? because we simply are better at the D-line versus the Linebacker crew. Our defense is sadly last in the NFL in rush yards allowed per game, a horrible achievement. I really think this stems from our linebacking corps more so than our D-line. Poz is the only one worth mentioning as solid. I really like Nic Harris and think he can be a future starter in this league. Ellison is awful and doesn't deserve to start at all ever again. Mitchell is a scary loss since he tore a ligament in his knee at a older age. I believe he is 29 or so, and with that knee injury, you could see the Bills release him or see his production start to fall quick. We desperately need outside linebackers and there are a few solid names out there at the linebacking position.

Best Available Free Agents:

Shawne Merriman, Chargers, age 25. A stud at rushing the passer. His production has dropped since his injury, but knee injuries usually take some time before the person returns to full strength. I believe Merriman will get back to full strength next year. It also helps that he is still so young. The Chargers like I said have a lot of guys to retain, and this is one of their guys I see escaping. Bottom line, he won't cost as much since he endured that knee injury, but his price will still be too steep for Ralph I am sure.

DeMeco Ryans and Karlos Dansby- Both highly regarded ILB. Not sure if they can make a switch, but maybe Poz can since he played outside in college.

Well thats it, hope you enjoyed my little dissection and some future possible free agents that the Bills will never sign. Again, I stress the importance of starting with the offensive line. I think the Bills already made a step forward in investing in both the O-line and D-line from the past draft. The Bills need to provide there playmakers with opportunities. You can have all the playmakers you want at WR and RB, but if you cannot protect the Q.B, you will not be able to throw the ball the your WR's, and if you cannot blow open holes, you will not be able to run the ball. This IS the problem the Bills are having. I believe Owens has said it best. He always mentions the O-line when asked "why is the offense not getting it done." There is a reason for that. He had great O-lines in Phily and Dallas, and knows it is very important for success. He has been saying our line is "young" and "injured" and that makes it hard. He is 100% correct.

Let me know what you think. I also attached a poll to let you decide what you think should be the Bills most pressing need this offseason. Thanks for reading!

Byrd, The Next Jim Leonard?

Byrd looks to be everything the Bills thought he'd be... A great Ball Hawk. Though he hasn't made great plays on the interceptions, he finds himself in the right spot at the right time consistently. Thinking back to the Jim Leonard safety days, I could only think of what happened to Leonard and how similar these guys started.

Both guys were served as back up safeties and were not intended to start, the main reason I didn't like the Byrd pick in the 2nd round. The Bills had obvious needs at O-line and pass rushers that I thought this pick was absolutely horrible. It is turning out that the other pick I didn't like (Maybin) is looking to be a lot worse, especially when looking at how Orakpo is playing and how bad I wanted him at the spot. Anyways, back to the comparison. Both, Jim and Byrd were able to step in at safety, replacing their fellow starters. They both excelled well in the turnover portion of the game, Jim Leonard having four picks in his first couple starts (leading the league) and Byrd having Five in his first couple starts.

This brings me to my next point...Our coaching staff. Dick and his fellow coaching staff decide Jim Leonard is not better than his fellow starter and decides to bench him while he is leading the league in picks and later decides to cut him. Well Dick, how did that work out? You guys know the rest. I can only hope when all three safeties are healthy that the Bills keep starting Byrd. I would start Whitner at SS and Byrd and FS. This coaching staff however fails to recognize talent and will probably bench Byrd in favor for Scott. Don't get me wrong, Scott is a good player, but Byrd I think is leading the league in interceptions and has earned the right to start. It would also only help his development as a player. If I were Dick, I would immediately bench Ellison and use Byrd at OLB, heck maybe he can stop the run and he has seen time at LB.

Byrd proves it does not take "years" for players to develop in this league. He stepped in and has dominated, more so in the run game I believe than the pass. He is great in run support as well as finding himself in the right places on pass downs. Thats why I "HATE" it when people say we need to give players time to develop. That is WRONG because Orakpo is already proving he can start and play at a high level when Maybin our 4 year project is awful and not meant to be a 4-3 End. There are also lots of other players that prove the Hardy pick doesn't need to take time to develop either, look at Hakim Nics, Maclin, Percy Harvin and company. Don't get me wrong, I can't blame Hardy for getting hurt but he couldn't do anything his first 15 games. Bills front office does a horrible job at drafting guys and I am tired of waiting for guys to develop while watching other rookies who step right in and contribute. Everette Brown also looked good today and PLAYED in the game, wow didn't see that coming. I mean if the Bills didn't take Maybin how far would he have fallen? I don't think a team would have picked Maybin over Everette Brown, and he fell to the second.

All and all, I am hoping Dick and his coaching staff realize that Byrd is playing at a high level and don't decide to bench him in favor or Scott. I would like to see him take over the full time FS role and see him develop, isn't that why they drafted him? I mean I know they like drafting projects that take 3 years, but Byrd has stepped in and won the spot, by a long shot and deserves the start. Hopefully history does not repeat itself, and Dick has learned from his past mistakes. He and his coaching staff have failed to recognize talent and it has shown in the past and present and past Bills players are starting and contributing at high levels on other NFL teams.

Make a push for Quinn?

Brady Quinn was regarded the best Q.B in the draft a couple years ago. He has good arm strength, he is smart and has all the things you look for at the Q.B position. He was a first round prospect all the way and probably fell farther than he should have on draft day (Russell). Instead of wasting a 1st round pick on a Q.B this year if Trent doesn't pan out, which it looks like he isn't going to, why not trade for Quinn? I am not saying we are going to take a Q.B in the first, but if we are in the Top Ten, it would be very tempting, especially if we have a new coach. The Browns obviously made it clear that Anderson is their guy. So they have a prime prospect that hasn't really even gotten a shot sitting on the sidelines. Believe me, the Browns are building for the future and they want all the picks they can get. Why not throw them a 3rd and a 5th? or something reasonable. You would have had to use a 1st on this guy in the previous draft and now you can get him for less because of the situation he is in. It would be a steal in that sense.

This move is smart on two fields. First, you make it clear to Trent that we are not satisfied with how he is playing. I am sick and tired of listening to this guy after games say, "I have to look at the tape" "the corner made a great play on the ball"- no trent you under threw the ball by 10 yards! And most of all I am sick of that smirk he has on his face!! There SHOULD be a sense of urgency Trent, because if you don't pan out you lose your job and any chance at starting in this league again!!

Secondly, if this team does bomb with their record and they're in a position to take a Bradford or a Locker or a Tebow, we won't have to draft them and pay them top dollar because we have Quinn. Quinn's contract is not nearly as close to what you will be paying for a top 10 Q.B- see Sanchez and Staffords contracts.

This in my opinion would be a smart move financially. We get a solid Q.B with first round grades, probably comparable to a Bradford caliber Q.B for a lot less than a 1st round and a lot less money wise. Ralph would indorse this idea because this is how he thinks. And honestly, I think this could work out well. My guess is a team like the Rams might make a push for Quinn but if he is not traded by the deadline, that is a talented Q.B sitting the bench. And for you people who thinks Quinn is not that good, i'll tell you he has more upside than Trent, and he is worth a 3rd round pick all day. I would even consider giving them a 2nd. But if we got Stroud for a 3rd and 5th, I would offer similar to that for Quinn, maybe you could even squeeze out giving less since Stroud is a proven DT in this league and Quinn is nothing so far. Could it hurt to call and see what they want for him??? Thoughts?

IMO, After 4 games, T.O is Making This Team Worse

So after we acquired T.O I probably wasn't the only Buffalo Bill fan jumping up and down. Until now I even had a hard time sleeping the night before going to the Ralph.

On the contrary T.O has been everything we didn't expect. He is dropping multiple balls, keeping his mouth shut and really not impacting games. I'll be the first to say I realize this is not all his fault and that Trent is more of a part of this teams downfall thus far. Now, before I tell you why I do think T.O is hurting this team I want to say I am and always will be a Big T.O fan. For the reasons Listed below:

1.) The guy scores T.D's

2.) He pumps up his teammates

3.) He played and incredible superbowl hurt

4.) He is passionate about football

5.) He tells the media how it is

Now, he has gone against everyone of those aspects I have pointed out since joining the Buffalo Bills. For starters, and my biggest problem with him is he is completely silent during games. Have you noticed he sits all by himself with his head down on the end of the bench? You would think during week 1 when we were beating the Patriots, he would be fired up, pumping up his teammates. But no, he sulked on the bench because he wasn't getting any of the catches. One key thing I noticed was after Josh Reeds TD at Miami. A friend of mine that went to the game even said this to me and i agreed. After Josh Reed scored his TD, everyone on the offense came over to congratulate him but T.O just walked off the field. Now I realize he is a "me" type player, but at every other team he was on, he was very emotional on the sidelines. A lot of clips you see of T.O are showing him on the sidelines going nuts.

Bottom line, T.O has shown no emotion during the games and towards his teammates. He is not motivating at all. For being paid the amount of money he is being paid and the years experience he has in this league, the Bills didn't just bring him in to score TD's. They brought him in to show this team how to win, how to get excited, and how to break that 7-9 record. Instead, he has been silent and "goes through the motions," you can see it in his body language. I can tell when the play is going to be a run play, just by looking at T.O, I pointed it out to my buddy last week. If I were an opposing defense I would just watch T.O's body language. This could be another reason the no huddle is potentially killing us- just look at T.O to see if its a run or pass!

Now I really do like T.O as a football player but you can tell he doesn't want to be here and its rubbing off on his teammates. He seems to be positive in his press conferences but i think he is just saying all the right things so he doesn't get in trouble. T.O is playing for next year, hoping to be on a better team. Buffalo was probably the only team to offer him a contract. You know he'd rather be playing for the Cowboys. What's done is done, but in my opinion, T.O has not helped so far. I hope he can really start to impact games and start to show some emotion. But as a Bills fan, he has really made me upset. The way he is acting and conducting himself seems to be more of a mock at this organization.

If three 7-9 seasons couldn't do it, a loss to the Dolphins and Browns should do it in my opinion. This guy has been given every opportunity to succeed and he can't. With weapons like Evans, Lynch, Freddie, T.O, Nelson, Parrish and Reed there is no reason this team can't be efficient offensively. Plug these players in the Colts scheme and they would win the superbowl hands down. We have too much talent to be so mediocre on offense. T.O had 10 yard cushions last game!!!!!!!!!!! Heres an idea dick, just throw the ball to him and let him run for 5 yards. Wow i didn't even need to go to Yale to figure that out. Back to my main point before i go on and on about Dick being a horrible coach- The Dolphins are without a Q.B. Chad Hene is not very good and we should win this game hands down, even being so injured. I expect them to run a ton of wildcat and limit Hene to just handing off the ball, for at least this week. Next, the Browns. The Browns again found some way to go from pretty good, to horrible. They traded away one of their best players in Kellen Winslow. The Bills should be 3-2 after this two game stretch, and thats not asking a lot. I said they would go 4-12 this year, but after seeing the Dolphins lose their Q.B I am changing it to 6-10. They should beat the Dolphins twice and should definitely beat the Browns. I understand we lost to two good teams, the Patriots and Saints and I would have told you we would be 1-2 at this point before the season, but I am sick of saying "o they were a good team and we should have lost." Because realistically, we should of won the Pats game, and we were in the Saints game-but Edwards couldn't do anything. In order to be good, you have to win those close ones. Thats really what this league is about. Teams like the Pats find ways to win, because they are a good team with a good coach. Bad teams find a way to lose, like the Bills. Let me know what you think about my opinion because I really don't see how Ralph can keep Dick around, especially if we go 1-4. He also spent a lot of money on T.O in order to help us win which solidifies the point- Dick and Trent have no excuses this year, you win or your gone.

After Week Two, Trent Edwards Leads AFC Q.B's

Not that numbers mean everything but I couldn't help myself to notice that after week 2 Trent Edwards is leading the AFC in passer rating by a decent gap, and second in TD's. His completion percentage is 64.3%, and his passer rating is a beautiful 104.9. And after hearing so much about how goooood Tom Brady looked on MNF, I just wanted to tell you Tom is 11th in the AFC and our own QB is number one. I thought it was totally unfair how they hyped Brady up that whole monday night game and forgot to give Edwards "any" credit for the way he was playing. Now, I do want to point out that before the season, and especially after the preseason I was not an Edwards fan. But if I learned one thing this year, it is not to look too far into preseason games. Granted, I did mention it probably wasn't all Edwards fault and equally blamed Dick Jauron and the offensive scheme for Edwards downfalls. However, right now it really looks like AVP has been the "key" to this now what I believe could be a high powered offense. Now, it has only been two games, and I realize there is at least 14 more to play, but I can't help to notice this team is starting to gel. As the weeks progress, you know T.O will find more catches and so will Lee. Just 5 catches for Owens and 3 for Lee after two games is way too little. AVP, in that respect, does need to find a way to get them more touches, they are the playmakers after all. As for Jackson, what can I say, he is playing awesome. And just think, this offense is without its best player (Lynch, in my opinion). Edwards has played great so far and is proving me wrong, and I love it. He has shown he can make all the throws, and the best thing is, he can improve even more on his already stellar play and he knows it. He is atop of the AFC so far, and that is great to see, especially with guys like Brady, Manning, Rivers and Rothlisberger in the AFC. My opinion would be to give this guy a contract extension as soon as possible, because for one: your keeping a what looks to be a future star and B: you could probably get this future star at a inexpensive price. My point- Trent hasn't really proven anything yet, and by signing him now versus this offseason (with his first playoff season under his belt I believe) would cost us less. If it were up to me I'd wait for the season to be over with, just to solidify my feelings on Trent, but I know how Ralph thinks, and he does count his pennies most of the time. By signing him now, you probably save millions. Q.B's get some of the biggest money out there, and as one of Brian's article links said, "Trent is great value for the money he is making." Just think if he makes the playoffs this year, do you drop a $60 million + contract on him? Wouldn't you like to get a long term deal done now, before he does really well and asks for that kind of money? Well anyways, I am proud of our Q.B thus far and hopes he keeps it up. Remember, he did start very well last year and tanked bad. Take a look at how he ranks in the AFC versus some elite Q.B's and let me now know if you think he is the long term answer for the Bills and what you would do about his contract.

I was just on twobillsdrive.com and someone had the idea of chanting for Leodis as he came out of the tunnel. I think that would be a great idea and would def raise his spirits, and if we get the ball, he's taking it back! i'll be chanting Leodis when they call his name, and you should be too. We have already shown our support off the field by the donations, now lets show it to him on the field! Go Bills!
