But Hartline doesn't always get open even against zone / off coverage to run those outs and comebacks "up and down the field".

How many years has Chip Kelly been a football coach? I guess no one ever watched Oregon play when he was there.

If Chip Kelly's offense is so QB friendly, then why doesn't every team at every level run it?

Rodgers didn't play right away sitting behind a future HOF QB. You didn't know whether he was or not until he played.

Agreed. But when he got on the field, he looked the part despite underwhelming stats.

Me and you are of like mind on this. We both think Miami is further away and need more players than other fans do. That means I'm for accumulating picks.
Commented on Should the Miami Dolphins trade up in round one of the NFL Draft? on Apr 18 2014, 2:04p - 1 reply
It has to be the right type of trade for Miami to do this and getting an extra 2nd and 3rd this year with an extra 1st next year MIGHT be the right type of trade.

4th round grade on Graham was probably pretty close. He went in the late 3rd round.

My understanding of the process is that Ireland set the grades for the draft. He did the grunt work. Parcells just oversaw the operation.

Philbin did everything he could do last year to get this type of control. Multiple GM candidates turned down interviews or the actual position because Philbin had too much control over personnel.

The whole thing about the Jerry or Graham debate is Miami wasn't going to draft Graham in the 3rd round anyway. They had a 4th round grade on him.

Might not. But I could see a team like SF or Den thinking that they are a couple players away and wanting 2 picks in the top 31 of this draft.

It's a possibility. You also have to consider that you may need 3 WR's, 2 LB's, 2 DT's, RB, and the always needed OL.

A 2 down LB drafted in the 5th round is a lot different than a 2 down LB drafted in the 2nd round like Misi.

Teams that extend drives have multiple players that can catch a pass short of the down marker, make someone miss or break a tackle, and gain the extra 2-3 yards needed for a 1st down.

Hartline was the #2 WR on Miami just based on coverage by the defense. Wallace was the one that got all the coverage last year.
